Shrimp Cocktail

We're not from the area but stopped by shortly after they opened at 3:30. Luckily we were able to sit near the kitchen because we met the owner, Sally. She walked us through the menu and made some good suggestions. Everything we had was awesome! The bread, shrimp cocktail, stuffed peppers, paps lobster pot, filet tips, salad, mashed potatoes, and bread pudding (Sally makes twice a day). Fresh and so tasty!! We live more than an hour away but we will be back .. and we will make reservations. I can see why they are so busy!!

Sunset through the window!

Great food and service! Wonderful specials, which I greatly appreciate not having the same options to choose from.

It's a little bit of a drive but it's a nice little drive in the country and food is a little pricey but definitely worth it!!!

Fantastic I like…read moretotally flew by the seat of my pants when I planed the West Virginia portion of our trip. Wheeling seemed to be somewhere in the vicinity of our drive to Morgantown tomorrow so I decided to stay the night. Looking for a place for dinner, I stumbled upon this place on Yelp in wheeling. Little did I know what an iconic place this is. We arrived at 5:15 on a Wednesday evening bc we are getting old. A couple leaving at 5:15 made us see our future. We were fortunately seated immediately. The inside is SO CUTE. I can't get enough of it. It felt like such an authentic Italian experience. Our server was incredible. So nice, personable, helpful. We started with our beverage orders. I went with a little something off their cocktail menu the elderflower martini which, exactly as I expected, was way more like spiked juice than a "martini" but I wouldn't want it any other way. Don't think I wasn't intrigued by the fried cheese but we have been eating a fair amount of that lately so instead of offering an app, I opted for an entree (stuffed rigatoni) and a side of broccoli. GF ordered fettuccine with red clam sauce. She got a house salad and I didn't for some reason. The broccoli was seasoned wonderfully but the texture wasn't as crisp as I would have liked. The rigatoni and the house sauce was ORGASMIC. That sauce is incredible I would gladly buy it by the jar. The rigatoni were al dente pillows of creamy ricotta heaven. Spectacular. GF regarding her red clam sauce pasta, "delicious". We also ordered the tiramisu to go so stay tuned on that.

Great food and service! It was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant is small…read morebut cozy with tons of old pictures hung up on the walls giving it that true authentic Italian vibe. Our waitress was friendly and went above and beyond the whole time we were there. They give you bread and butter with your meal and it was really good. I ordered wedding soup and ate every last bite or sip of it. For my entree I went with the classic spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious. The sauce was perfect and they sell jars of it that you can take home with you. I had a great experience here and will definitely be back.

When I first contacted him he replied almost immediately and set up a time to talk with me about our preferences, dietary restrictions and overall food vibes. He sent me a menu within a day and welcomed feedback. Tonight we sat at the bar where we were able to see into the open kitchen and Chef Anthony walked us through every dish (both ours and those of other diners). Everything was delicious and with the exception of the cannoli shell, made from scratch, in house. Portions were huge for an almost 8 course meal and the pacing was great. The other staff were wonderful and beyond the flavorful food, the pricing is very reasonable. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. He also recently lost his sous chef due to him being in a really unfortunate accident. So if anyone knows someone looking for work... he's hiring.

I'll post a photo of the menu, but here are some of my thoughts: Turkey - so delicious Mashed potatoes - perfection Stuffing - I loved it but the kids didn't. Honestly they probably would have preferred Stove Top though. Green beans - very tasty but not great as a leftover Cranberry chutney - ok, I love the canned stuff but this was truly a hit. Rolls and butter - literally such delicious butter! Apple pies - they were more like empanadas. I was expecting mini round pies. The crust was amazing but the apples were a bit tart. The pickup was easy and seamless. Everything was packed well. Thank you! We can't wait to come in to eat soon.

Back again after a long hiatus! Love Muriale's ever since my first visit as a 20 something!…read moreStopped by on a drive from Pittsburgh with my sister on our way back to Charlotte and Greenville, SC. I talked into the meatball hoagie with a house salad with the house dressing. Can't wait to eat.... The house salad and Italian bread with soft butter were outstanding. By the number of ingredients, that salad was made with a lot of love. Waiting on the meatball hoagie.... The mixed peppers on the meatball with a large mound of melted mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was large enough that it was a struggle to get my mouth around it to take a bite and that's a good thing! The meatballs and red sauce were as good as ever. My sister had never been to Muriale's so she became an instant fan. After 8 years away this meal was great. Don't ever change and keep it classy. Thank you!

As we're temporarily home bound, a friend brought us delicious takeout from Muriale's. We shared two somewhat-similar and tasty entrees, (1) Eggplant Parmesan ($21) featuring lightly breaded and fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, house-made marinara sauce and (2) Veal Parmesan ($24), with lighted breaded and fried veal, fresh mozzarella, and house-made meat sauce. Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side. However, in seeing the high quality of the food, the generous portions, and the "extras" that were included (salad, garlic toast, etc.), we feel that it was a good value.
