A fairly small venue. No bad seats in the house. The restrooms were clean. Sound system is good. The server keeps your credit card for the whole time, I am not comfortable with that. We came here to see Randy Feltface (yeah, look him up). But this review is about the venue, not the talent. First off, there is a great restaurant/bar here that has phenomenal food great beers, and great drinks. You'll have no trouble finding something Mohave before, or after, your show. The servers are amazing too. Then when you go upstairs to the venue, you get to have a full selection of drinks and snacks too. Again, the servers are amazing. Yeah, this is a small place, but they get amazing talent and do a great job taking care of you. You will be amazed at the quality of talent they get. Don;t be put off by the location. It just means you'll be closer to your favorite comedians for less dollars out of your pocket. So get here and have fun!! read more

As far as comedy clubs go, I've been to a few in different big cities and this definitely ranks among the best! I loved the atmosphere and the skyline of Appleton. It's also in a super cool older building which gives it a character unlike any other club. We showed up right on time and got our seats super fast. The staff is crazy speedy. Like I've never been snuck up on by waiting staff and they about scared the crap out of me by how fast and sneaky they are! We got brandy old fashions as true wisconsinites do and they were delicious. Comedy act was hilarious and loved the opener as well. Only thing I can possibly say somewhat negatively, which this isn't negative at all, but the two drink minimum had me stressed out to drink between vociferously laughing. Overall, I loved my experience at the comedy club. I thought the show was great. The comedians gave us a good time at the show. I felt like the drinks were a little bit overpriced no thanks inflation and then it was unfortunate that the elevator to upstairs was broken so we all had to take the staircase to get into the building. They have no control over the crowd in this venue. People are constantly shouting out, talking during the shows, and interrupting the comedians with zero consequences. Comedy on State in Madison never has this problem. The drinks are overpriced for the area (more than Madison even) and then they have the gall to charge a mandatory 18% gratuity regardless of your party size. They claim they have a disclaimer about this charge on the website and menu but I checked--this disclaimer is not present anywhere from the moment you arrive at the website to the time you finish purchasing tickets. No one in our group knew about this charge. You may find it on the menu if you look hard enough in the dim lighting while socializing with your friends, or by studying the entirety of the ticket confirmation email. Your server will not mention it but the check you sign will still have a section to leave a tip. I should also call out the "service charge" they add to ticket purchases online...just another hidden cost. When I made the mistake of leaving an extra tip and realized the next morning because the exorbitant drink cost wasn't adding up in my head I contacted the club for a refund on this extra tip. It has been two weeks and the staff has not agreed to refund me, despite me being polite about it and contacting them several times. To be honest the comics were not as good as the ones at Comedy on State either. I'd highly recommend skipping this club and driving down there for a more enjoyable and affordable night out without the predatory extra charges. read more

Root beer sucks. It's WAY too cloyingly sweet, too heavy, too fakely food colored dark. Might as well swig down pancake syrup right out of the bottle. This stuff is so amazingly different, it's possible to still despise root beer with a fiery passion, as I do; but be wholly addicted to this stuff, which I am. Wow! How do they pull it off, and how long till they mass produce it and sell it in stores I shop at?? My last social event before Safe at Home isolation from Coronavirus was at Skyline Comedy. I've lived in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City, so my expectations of an Appleton comedy club were low. Boy was I wrong to make that assumption. Shame on me for being a "big city" snob. The venue is a perfect size, no bad seat in the house. Waiters are welcoming and attentive. Prices are reasonable! Full bar! For the headliner, we saw Ryan Niemiller (from America's Got Talent) and he was outstanding. I'm impressed with the caliber of talent scheduled for future performances (when club re-opens). When we get past the isolation period, I will definitely need a dose of comedy. We will go back again and again. read more

This is a pretty great venue for comedy. The comics I saw were hilarious and the layout is nice and cozy. The staff was all warm and welcoming. They do have a stupid 2 drink minimum and they don't list the prices on the menu so it was quite a lot more than I thought I would spend after getting craft cocktails in the bar downstairs for cheaper. I got a soda and I did get a cocktail which total was around $15 or something before tip. Really shouldn't have been more than $10 total in my opinion but I know that is the price you pay to go to comedy shows and its the only place to see it. I will definitely come back to check out more comedy because it is a great venue. I will just make sure that I get the cheapest drinks next time instead. Edit: I have added a star back because Cliff responded to my review and was very professional about it. I might have jumped the gun on balking at the drink prices even if I do think they are pricey the fact that Cliff was willing to respond at all speaks volumes in my book to the kind of establishment they are and that they do care about their patrons. read more

I came in Friday because a friend had won free tickets and we wanted to go out to celebrate her 2 years cancer free. Waiting to go upstairs was a little confusing but we figured it out. Once inside we were carded and then seated. They have a two drink minimum here. We ordered a drink and I was the DD so I ordered a Madonna Colada (pina colada virgin), then a root beer float and pretzel bites. The first drink was delightful and good. The root beer was a let down it was chunky over frozen ice cream that was not pleasant. I barely finished it. The pretzel bites were okay but I am pretty sure they gave me and my husband a stomach ache later in the evening. That is not why you come here though. You come for the comedy and it was worth coming. I laughed so hard I was crying. I highly recommend stopping in they often manage to bring in really talented people. read more

Super great spot to see comedy. We had the immense pleasure of seeing Nicole Beyer - and the displeasure of doing it 2 days after I broke my ankle. The staff there was amazing and accommodating for us. Jessie (who I talked to the afternoon of), made sure I had an accessible spot for my knee scooter and there is an elevator. Add on that they ensured I could get to said elevator quickly as the meet and great line formed directly in front of it. Drinks were suitably.priced.for the 2 drink.minimum. $3.50 for a soda with 1 free refill, beers in the $5-6 range and mixed drinks in the under $10 range. The adult ice cream float was on my radar, but I opted for Stone Arch on tap, vanilla porter and honey wheat (the brewery in the same building). Comics were great, the host and featurette/opener were a hoot and Nicole was a treat. read more

I went to see Mark Norman, the show was great but their building is very poorly kept, drinks were absolutely terrible, very bad taste for a high price. I have never had a bad time here. This comedy club is great at what they do. I love now they are above a local brewery/restaurant (stone arch) and they serve beer from the brewery during the shows. This venue is the perfect environment for standup comics, and it's the real deal! They will work you all into the show, so have your game face and thick skins on. Its a packed tight feel, like the old throwback comedy clubs with such an authentic atmosphere, it fosters the laughs. We started the night in the stone arch brewery downstairs and had cocktails & appetizers, so make sure you pre-game down there before your comedy club showing to save cash. (The comedy club has a two drink minimum but are a little pricy so get buzzed downstairs 1st) This is a sweet old building overlooking the river, and I can't wait to go back and see more future shows! read more

We made the trip up to Appleton from Milwaukee to see TJ Miller at the Skyline Comedy Club. It was a great show at a great venue. It's not a large room, and even though we were seated well into the seating process and toward the back we still could see the stage and the performer very well. Drinks were good and priced as one would expect at a comedy club. Service was very good. One note: We asked the bartender downstairs at the Stone Cellar Pub when he thought we should go up for the 8pm show. He said 7:30. When we got there the room was nearly 3/4 seated. I cant believe a place like this exists in Appleton, WI. They are constantly bringing in big name acts. Sure, they aren't getting the biggest names, but then again those guys are filling stadiums. But all their headliners have numerous TV credits to their name. And tickets are priced right. For most shows VIP seating-first 3 rows-is only $20 and I think general admission is about $12. Of course, like all comedy clubs there is a 2 drink minimum. Drinks are priced a little on the high side but not bad. The only thing I wish they had is a better selection of food. Came here with a bunch of friends for the Doug Benson show, and I really enjoyed it. The club itself is a bit small, but cozy. The seat are very close together, so if you're sitting behind a tall dude, be prepared for a sore neck. That was the only thing I had a problem with there. I would highly advise against the "VIP/Priority" tickets... paid $140 each, site says Priority is the front three rows. When I asked if we were in the right spot, I was immediately given a rude and condescending reaction from the guy at the desk. No resolution or apology, just pointed out conflicting information in small print elsewhere on the ticket site. Apparently "VIP" is 100 out of 170 some seats... more than halfway back is where we were - table G7 (more than three rows and/or 100 people back) with people packed as close as possible inside (fire/pandemic hazard, anybody? Totally unsafe). Unreal. Never again. Comedians were great, but this venue, their management, and seemingly deceptive sales and marketing practices leave much to be desired... left before the meet and greet, which is very unfortunate, as we had really been looking forward to this for some time. My husband and I have been going to Skyline for years, and have seen some of the biggest and best names in comedy there. (Larry the cable guy, LIsa Lampenelli, TJ Miller, Chinaman, Etta May, Greg Hahn, Ryan Stout, etc...) The waitstaff is always fantastic, and the drinks are awesome!!! Yes, you have to take a cramped elevator for 2 whole stories (wow!) but the history, the talent and atmosphere are worth it!!! We have been to the 'other' comedy club the Comedy Quarter and both times we got to sit and look at the side of the comedians head. Very disappointing sitting arrangement there. Would not recommend!!! Unless you prefer *not* to see the comedians expressions....which personally is my favorite part!!! Plus, the talent they get there is just "ok" rarely do I see anyone that I "have" to see. We wanted to see Steve-O but when we called and asked if there were good seats left in VIP where we would not have to stare at the back of his head....we were given the run around and they told us they could not guarantee anything. Thanks I will save my $32 for some where a little more accommodating. One thing I will say I DO like about Comedy Quarter...is that you can order from a full menu. I do not have any affiliation with either club, I don't have friends that work at either, I am just a avid comedy club go-er that wanted to give her honest 2 cents. read more

These folks are serious about their comedy. They expect you to be seated 40 minutes before showtime... If you are late (meaning not 40 minutes early) they will tell you to leave. Tickets are only available online. I wasted Money because I didn't know about these rules because they aren't posted online. All sales are final. No refunds. And they have a two drink minimum... Money money money. I would gladly pay a higher price for a ticket if they need to make money but they treat people like undeserving cattle. Plenty of better ways to spend your money. I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemies. I will sooner drive 3 hours to second city in chicago where they treat people like people. This guy never called us... NEVER go to skyline comedy club in Appleton!!!!!!!!! They offered us free tickets for a group of 10 people, then told us we couldn't come in because they had "paying" customers. We had a large group, it was my birthday celebration, we drove 45 minutes to get there, and had babysitters booked. They would not accommodate us at all. I confirmed the evening before the show and they said we had tickets. They made us stand there and wait for all the other "paid" customers to come in first. Then wouldn't seat us! They would not even pull any chairs to the back for us to sit on. Compete bull shit! Worst costumer service I have ever experienced! Happy birthday to me! When living in the Appleton area I frequented the Skyline. They are able to secure some of the best comedians in the country. The staff is very friendly and the drinks are delicious. The club is very intimate and that is what I enjoy about it. I now live in Atlanta and wish that we had a great comedy club near us. I always knew that Skyline was great, but did not truly appreciate it until I moved away. Another great birthday celebration at Skyline Comedy Club. We arrived at skyline comedy club and was greeted at the door by a gal who welcomed us in. Our ID's were checked, we were checked in, and brought to our seats (our seats were awesome) We had our drinks within minutes and had time to visit with our group. The comedy club was exactly what we needed! By the time we left, our stomachs hurt so much from laughing! Bonus, all the comedians were by the door as we were leaving so we could say "hi" to them! I called the box office to inquire about a ticket purchase I had just made for 4 because I received an e-mail the day after containing a promo code for buy 1 get 3 free tickets. I was told that I would be unable to receive the promo code discount even though it was for the same showing and exactly 4 tickets. This would all have been fine, but the associate I was talking to was very short with me and accused me of lying about the showtime on the website matching the code I received. It was my first time going to this comedy club last night, and I will never go back due to the fact that the owner kicked me and my group out just after 10 minutes of being there! He accused us for talking and commenting during the show, which we weren't! He talked very rudely to my friends and disrespected us as customers! He didn't even give us a chance to explain that we were commenting on how funny the comedian was, so I guess people can no longer enjoy themselves and laugh as much as the please at a comedy club! Been going to the Skyline for as long as I can remember and never have I been disappointed. Unparalleled talent week in and week out performed in a cool and unique atmosphere that includes a huge disco ball! Perfectly poured cocktails served by a courteous and inviting staff. Fair prices as well. A+ in my book! Don't make the mistake of going to the Comedy Quarter in Neenah. B talent at best and way over priced drinks comparatively. Not impressed with how they handle the ticket sales! Went to a show tonight to see Dan St. Germain, after watching to whole show realized that he was no longer the headliner. Yes we were disappointed, not that the comedian wasn't good but we didn't get what we paid for. I understand that customers can't be refunded but should at least allowed to changed the night of the show due to scheduling conflicts. They had our email address and were completely able to send an update on the schedule change but didn't and we walked into a show waiting for Dan and never seen him! A group of 6 (we paid for 8 but 2 didn't show) were there on Feb. 16. The comedians were average to a little bit better. Our main complaint was with the way we were treated. The Manager (didn't get his name) was rude, vulgar, and abusive to our group. His language was offensive and laced with F-bombs. This bordered on verbal assault. I'm not sure how he retains his job?? The comics were pretty funny. I've seen worse on comedy central. As a gay man there was a very distasteful gay joke one of the comedians told, which got a well deserved 'booooo' from me. I am not shy about making my feelings known. The drinks were over priced, comedy club I get it okay, but they were mediocre at best. Nothing special. One drink the waitress recommended to a friend who was with, was pretty terrible. She did take it back and it was not on the bill. The drinks were definitely too strong. This is THE comedy club to see comics at in WI! They don't shy away from edgier comics like other clubs I've been to in the past. There is a diner below if you feel so inclined to eat before laughing. Standard comedy club seating: small table with chairs... you will be in an intimate setting with strangers so don't try to rock back and put your feet up. 2 drink minimum. The backdrop wall mural skyline painting behind the comics doesn't bother me. I've seen others that have. My only complaint is being located in Appleton and I have to drive from Milwaukee.
