I'm a comic artist and I know how important drawing the human figure is in my trade. I go to…read moreweekly figure drawing at Mud & Prints and it's been ground-breaking for my art! Linda goes above and beyond at getting a variety of different models. Some sessions are clothed and some are nude. She even goes as far as setting up backgrounds that fit with the themes of the costumes and poses. We usually start with some short poses and build up to longer poses. The lighting on the figures is great too. From drawing to painting, you can use any medium that you desire. It's not required to show up every week, incase something in life comes up, and you pay per session you attend. You get a stamp card and Linda throws a free session after you attended so many. Linda is open to comments and feedback with the sessions and makes changes based on the artists' needs in the studio. It's also a very casual environment to meet the other artists in this area too. ‍ I'm learning a lot and my art is really growing each week I attend. Drawing from life is very crucial for artistic growth and this is one of the few places in the valley that offers life drawing models at a very reasonable price.

While I was there, the artwork was handled in a way that felt rushed and careless -- materials were placed directly onto the surface, and frame corners were pressed up against it without protection. Shortly after, I noticed that one corner of the artwork was creased. The piece is thin paper/card stock, and a crease like this is permanent. I had not authorized any framing work and had not paid anything. I immediately removed the artwork to prevent further handling. When I followed up with the owner the next day, I was told that the damage must have already been present when I brought the piece in. I do not agree with that statement. I have clear photos showing the condition of the artwork before the visit and after, and the crease was not present beforehand. Instead of discussing how the damage occurred or how to resolve it, the conversation repeatedly shifted to how long the shop has been in business and how many awards it has received. That did not address the condition of my artwork or the concern I raised. The interaction felt dismissive and confrontational rather than professional. I'm sharing this experience so others bringing in high-value, original artwork can make an informed decision. I chose not to move forward with this shop.
