I love skyline and I want the whole world to know. We may not be in Cincinnati but the skyline chili is equally as good here in Columbus. I love the taste of coneys in my mouth because it just makes me happy. The service is always efficient and kind. They're so nice to me, always offering more bags of oyster crackers (see the attached picture of me eating said oyster crackers). I always have so many bags of oyster crackers! Of all my years of living in Ohio, I finally decided to try Skyline Chili. I personally love Chili. But there was just something that was so off putting for me, but I had to try it. For the people of course. I tried their coney dog, which wasn't bad, although it was primarily 95% cheese, it was still solid. You could taste the onion and flavor from the chili sauce. But it's very small to say the least. Next, I tried their spaghetti, which was basically pasta with their chili sauce, again not bad but it wasn't anything to brag about. Their chili sauce is different in a good way, you can really taste a strong cinnamon presence. Overall, it was okay. The service and atmosphere were great, but the food wasn't anything special. Every blue moon I feel like a 3 Way and some chilli cheese dogs. This spot didn't disappoint at all with crispy fries and seasonal strawberrry cream cheesecake. Great customer service as well. If Cincinnati style chili isn't your thing then this won't be for you but if you want that classic flavor that can't be quite emulated by canned Skyline from the grocery store then definitely head here! Skyline is an occasional treat for me. I'd love to have it more often but it's packed with delicious calories. Having said that, the Skyline sign pulled me in. It wasn't very busy so I was able to seat myself. I was quickly greeting by a friendly server. I ordered a 3way and 2 coney dogs. The order was fast! I didn't wait long at all. As for the food, it was delicious as always!! I thought the place looked clean and well maintained. The staff friendly and attentive. Food hot and spot on! I heard of Skyline Chili years ago, driving through Ohio, and we decided to make sure we stopped. The restaurant was busy, but unfortunately, this location lost it lease and will be closing soon. I was surprised to find this was a sit-down restaurant. Our server, Clara, was awesome. We let her know we were from out of state and have never been to Skyline before she gave us a "new customer packet" for each of us. I had chili with cheese, onions, and cheese. My husband went with the standard 3-way (cheese, chili, and spaghetti). We liked it enough to get two large containers to go. Clara said their hot sauce was pretty hot, and she was right. read more

This food was a disappointment. Charging over $7 for such soggy, and unappetizing fries. Not to mention how small the portion was. The chili was OK at best, but you would be better off at Wendy's. I will never find myself at any of these locations every again and if I could get a refund I would in a heartbeat. Also, the monsters amounts of cheese in the pictures is an illusion because in reality it's half that amount. It seems to be a polarizing restaurant, but I gotta say that I am a fan. Great flavor - that hint of cinnamon is a treat. I usually get the Coney (plain, no onion or mustard) and fries. But tonight I had a taste for the three way and I'm glad I did it! The noodles with cheese and chili are a great mix of flavors. This location is pretty dependable, quick and efficient. I love me some Skyline Chili! I feel like I was practically raised on it and sometimes I get a craving for it that won't go away until I have it! Luckily for me, my sister was also craving it, so we kind of hinted at my 6 year old niece that we wanted Skyline for her bday dinner. She initially said she wanted Steak N Shake (which we go to as a family all the time!) so I am glad we were successful in our attempt to change her mind for a Skyline bday dinner! We chose this location since it's near Tuttle Mall and we were taking my niece to shop and get her ears pierced afterwards. This is a nice location in Hilliard and ended up being a 9 min drive from the mall. The restaurant itself is clean, various seating options (booth, table, countertop). The inside was nice! I ended up ordering two coneys and a 3-way. I had been waiting all week for this! Like most Skyline's our food came out within 10 minutes. It was very good and I was pleased. Just like I'm used to! However, what makes this place lose a star is the service. I was in the restroom and was the last person to join the table. When I sat down, our server approached me for my drink order. I asked for Dr. Pepper. She brought it out as we were all seated at the table. About 5 minutes later, my poor little niece (the bday girl!) was upset because she didn't have a drink. No one had ever asked her for a drink order even though she was at the table the entire time and everyone else had a drink but her. We had been sitting there for about ten minutes and we looked for our waitress. She was just standing around doing nothing. I was disappointed that she wasn't asking us for our order...let alone letting a poor 6 year old go without a drink. So this staff is not as attentive as other Skylines I have been to in the past. It's a bit awkward if you are dining alone. Seemed to be way too many employees present at the restaurant - almost half of them are not doing anytime. I was served by a nice old lady who reminded me the size of the small pasta and possibly deeming it unfit for a grown man's appetite. Food was great. Very decent amount of flavor came across the chili. Noodle was soft and easy to eat. Shredded cheese looked humongous at first but after melting down not so much. Interestingly they have an option of "spicy habanero cheese" but I wasn't sure if the pleasant Mediterranean spices will thrive in Mexican heat. Also grabbed a pouch chili to go. Package was a bit sticky probably due to being on shelf for so long. Don't think many locals buy this stuff on site too often. Could be bit awkward if you decide to sit at the bar because two employees sat down one seat from me and chatted while on their phones. Honestly I couldn't understand how this type of simple prep restaurant will need that many employees? Anyway, of course you can always sit at a booth and enjoy a sub-par Culver fast-casual experience. P.s don't expect the type of chef interaction like in a sushi bar (but who will??!!) I posted here in 3/2021 that I would not return here. My doctor's office is across the street and we were hungry and it has been over 3 years now. Surely, the loud woman might be gone by now, but no.... she was the only waitress at 3pm on Friday, 5/24/2024. She made the slowest walk ever to our table... perhaps she has knee/hip issues...but she was not in the least friendly or welcoming. After taking our order, she sat at the total opposite end of the us, sitting on the stools and talking to a woman there the whole time. The cooks were no better. We were the ONLY customer there and there were 4 guys, 2 with headphones, who were joking and playing around which is fine, but it took 15 minutes to get our order. The only person working hard was a kid named Grady but he was the ONLY one. Finally, the order came up and the same woman hobbled it slowly to our table. She then stayed planted on the stool at the furtherest end and we never saw her again.... not when we were trying to get the attention of her...then ANYONE... to give us a takeout box with no luck. Brady was on his break, but sweet guy that he is, got up and got it for us and rang us out. The food was good and it always has been there, but I was right to decide to just drive up to Polaris from now on. I've learned my lesson. The franchise owner needs to do the same. read more

Being an out of town visitor, by friend who lives in Columbus had to introduce me to Skyline. It was late at night and Skyline wasn't busy. We were seated quickly and the staff was nice. We ordered the Coneys (hot dogs,) 4 way (spaghetti with chili and onions,) I had to have a Chilito, and the fries. We shared a Greek salad. We all liked the food, the chili has a slightly cinnamon-like quality to it that distinguished itself from just regular chili out of a pot. The huge mounts of shredded cheese were nice, although if it were melted a little, like a few seconds under a broiler or salamander, prior to serving, that would've put it over the top for us. The 4 way spaghetti was fairly good, the chili went nicely with the pasta. I loved my Chilito, as I had fond childhood memories of the Chili-Cheese burrito that hasn't been served at Taco Bell for at least 20 years. The Coney dogs were good, and so were the fries, albeit messy. I'm glad I "discovered" skyline on my visit to Ohio, I'll probably make a stop back there next time I visit my friend. read more

I think this place has gotten a bad rap here on yelp. I've been to this location several times. The service is always good and friendly, and the food is tasty. Does anybody really need to read a review of Skyline? Have you really not been here before? Okay...you haven't. So here's the deal. Your chili is not the chili you probably grew up with. Apparently it freaks some people out and you either love it or hate it. Anyway, here's what to expect: You get a plate of spaghetti, top it with a spicy meaty sauce...(no beans)...and lots of finely shredded cheddar cheese. And that's a "three way". You can add onions, or beans if you want them. Or have your meat and cheese with a little hotdog on a bun. I think you can put it over a baked potato, too. I've never tried it...but you can. Last time there (two days ago)...I passed on the chili and had a buffalo chicken wrap. Spicy buffalo white meat chicken with blue cheese, lettuce and tomato. It was delicious. I will definitely try it again. Finally, finish dinner off with ice cream. They have a freezer case of the ice cream treats of your childhood...ice cream "tacos", sandwiches, fudgsicles.... My mom grew up in Wisconsin while we were raised in California, and I now live in Arizona. I'm only out here on business. This place reminds me of something my mom would drum up when we were broke. I call it "Midwestern Gourmet" kinda food. That's not an insult, it's like "soul food" for southerners. They serve them in bowls/plates that BARELY fit the food. Thus, it spills, splashes and gets all over the place. That's my only real gripe about the place. I'm a clean freak, so I kept wiping the table as I was eating. I didn't try any of the hot dogs / coneys, but will next time. I gave it 3-stars because it's good enough to visit and try out, great if you want fast food, but not a burger or taco. They serve you really fast and let you try the "3-way" (spaghetti, chili, cheese) if it's your first time. You also get a mint if it's your first visit, thanks! The staff are always more than happy to help however they can. They will inform you about any changes or new additions to the menu. The food is always very prompt and delightful. I usually just get the chili dogs but everything else is also great. We recently tried the funnel fries and it blow our minds. Then our waitress showed up with more on the house since we enjoyed the first ones so much. I think that we are there alot too helped. Another way of saying it would be to place Skyline Chili along side that famous Columbus eatery, White Castle. An upside down 3-way vs three cheese sliders and a box of fried sticks. Both are heavenly. Let me get down to the brass tacks of Skyline Chili on Fishinger Blvd. This operation has the daytime staff to win you over with service. Recently our office renewed its tradition of birthday lunch. Fourteen (14) of us rolled into Skyline on a busy Monday lunch hour and waddyah know,... they seated us by pushing together tables while the rest of the lunch hour crowd gawked in amazement. Drink service was prompt - our server nailed it on his own. Another pitched in by bringing single servings of oyster crackers.... AND.... refills! No one's orders were wrong and I mean, we were all over the place. Burritos, upside down 3-ways, cheese sandwiches no mustard, vegetarian 3-ways and three order to go! Damn that's fancy. Some folk don't like the food. I happen to enjoy Skyline Chili's foods so a visit 4 - 5 times a year works well. And office party is also tops. **Vegetarians Beware** If you are vegetarian or wanting to order a vegetarian option do not eat at this Skyline Chili. I specifically ordered the vegetarian 3-way burrito. I pulled up to pay and the girl did not repeat my order. It was not till I got home and ate my first bite that I realized I have received the MEAT burrito. I called and spoke to the manager, who quickly handed me off to the Assistant General Manager. I explained my frustration and he was not the least sympathetic. Poor customer service.
