I've driven down Sinclair Rd many times. Today, as I approached Lincoln Ave I saw a sign that said Kickin Chicken, Free Samples. I like chicken and I like samples so in we turned. We were greeted by a nice man who asked if it was our first time. He guaranteed that this chicken would change my life. From behind the counter two pieces of chicken appeated, the samples. I must say, it was tasty. Here's the lowdown, they only serve tenders and fries. In my opinion it's not really a tender. The pieces are larger than popcorn chicken, but not those big, thick tenders that other places serve. I would say each piece was between 2 to 3 inches. Perfectly crispy, and the batter is good. You have a choice of 15 different sauces. I also thought the waffle fries were good. I saw them behind the counter cutting up fresh breast meat. Each sauce looks like a 3 oz cup. Big East's BBQ, and the Sizzles blue cheese were winners for us. The mouth kracken was a little salty for my preference. If they served bite sized fish and shrimp I would probably live there. Five stars for chicken & sauces! They take the hard part out of the tendon and only serve the meat and have an awesome batter. The chicken fingers are freshly fried, delicious taste, and great crisp. Kind gentleman greets us each time and shares about their business which is great! So many sauces! Everything from honey mustard, teriyaki, buffalo, bbq, and so many more!!! We've been four times during COVID (pre-vaccine) and each time none of the staff are wearing masks. There are no mask signs on the doors or anywhere I could see. Store seems mostly carryout and delivery. Cash register area is pretty messy with piles of papers, receipts that hang from the cash register and pile up on the floor (love that they are busy!), and a oily grime on technology & equipment built up from cooking and not being wiped. Store needs a good cleaning and I would give it 1 star for cleanliness and mitigation. Bright lights, good signage, and colorful brand (red, yellow, orange, and black) on the front of the building make it easy to see from the street. American flag hands outside proudly. Omg great chicken and waffle fries! The chicken is well seasoned by itself but the sauces are yummy too. Both are fresh and crispy - better than chick fil a! The restaurant is small and owned by a family guy who is nice and personable. We plan to go back. Don't waste your money on this guy. Online ordering doesn't work and he'll yell at you at the drop of a hat. Very unprofessional and extremely unsanitary. Expect your order to be cancelled, even after paying, if you just look at him wrong. So many other places around here are deserving of your money than this prick. He can't even keep any staff around and works the place all by himself. Canes is a much better value, anyhow. I must confess that even as a Columbus native, I never understood the food truck craze. Until now. I can say unreservedly that Kickin Chicken is the single best chicken I have ever had. The owner breads each piece by hand to order, and the labor and freshness shows. The end result is a very crisp, flavorful breading encasing warm, moist chicken meat. I like Raisin' Cane's, but even that pales in comparison to this. Then there's the sauces. He offers a wide variety of excellent dipping sauces such as Hickory BBQ, Honey BBQ, Goldy's BBQ, Big Easy's BBQ, Sizzle's BBQ, Sweet's Chili Pepper, Rising Jane's, and Buffalo sauce at three different levels: Mellow, Sizzle, and Mouth Kracken (my favorite). If you're more keen on dressings, he offers ranch, bleu cheese, Caesar, sour cream, and marinara. You can also order from two sides, Waffle's Fries and Wurly's Fries, both cooked to perfection. The ordering is a bit different, but allows for a more customized portion size for meals. You order each in size increments, from the Dink ($2), Pile (5), Doublefister ($10) and so on all the way up to the Juggernaut ($100), perfect for hosting shindigs like football parties, family reunions and the like. If you live nearby or are in the neighborhood, you have to give Kickin Chicken a try. I am currently standing outside of the food truck placed in front of nationwide. I was going to try you all for the first time today and after spending several minutes in line I was informed that you were out of chicken. This was fine because I am vegetarian. I inquired about fries and the worker said "oh I'm sorry, we're out of everything". I found this understandable and decided I'd just try you another day. I sat on the bench. Another guy walks up and asks for just fries and your worker proceeds to make and sell him an order of fries. When he looked up and saw my face he then offered to sell me a $3 order of fries which is what I had just inquired about. He then proceeded to say the other guy was a regular and "he takes care of regulars". This was so unprofessional. And to deter a potential customer and use the excuse of the guy being a regular is demeaning. I'm disappointed and won't be eating at your establishment now that I'm aware your customer service standards are subpar. The guy who runs this truck knows his product and is happy to explain it and help you find what you like. The chicken tenders (wangz) were a smidge overdone, but the excellent flavor and the Goldy's sauce (South Carolina mustard-based BBQ sauce) more than made up for that, and the walfie fries were surprisingly light as well as tasty. The real surprise was how fast they were - I'm used to waiting as much as half an hour for a meal from one of the trucks, because they usually have only one or two people in there, wrangling food for a lot of customers. Chicken is awesome. I make sure to get out to get some kcm whenever it's out front by Nationwide. I recommend kcm to everyone I meet who's looking for a good chicken based meal. The fries are awesome. To be honest my wife and I usually get one wrap each and have the other half for dinner. That's to say there is plenty for 2 meals. If you want an honest review for this company, here it is. The food is decent at best (3/5). Service is on a whole new spectrum (.5/5). I purchase food from this company at least once a week. On 7/09, I placed an online order from their website. Their website offers order-tracking for their customers. My order was placed around 11:09 am and informed me at 11:45am, the order was ready for pickup. I arrive at Kickin Chicken at 11:47am to pick-up my order which was paid for prior to arriving. The lobby had a total of 5 people inline ordering in-person. I waited in-line until it was my turn. I walk up to the "Owner" and proceed to tell him, that I placed an online order, and that it was ready for pick-up at 11:45 am. He stops, slams down his utensils, and yells at me in front of all other customers in the lobby, and says "Who the FUCK do you think works here"? My reply, "not sure, not my company". He continues yelling, stating that he serves walk-in customers per arrival. I tell him that's fine. I asked him about his company's website and the utilization of order-tracking, and that it is pointless to use if you don't practically use it like stated on your website. THIS SET HIM OFF!!! Again yelling and being completely unprofessional in front of a room full of paying customers. He proceeds to tell me he wants to cancel my pre-paid order. Remember - all because a paying customer asked why HE (the owner) doesn't provide the service that HE states on his company's webstite that they're to provide.
