A few months in, my daughter had one rough moment in class and was crying because of a streamer she had wanted, I had checked in with the teacher, Ms. Yevette, explaining she hadn't gotten enough sleep and I'd make sure to be on it. Unfortunately, following this class, the teacher consistently seemed irritated with her and would purposely pick her last for every class activity, almost to test if she would throw a fit again. She would get mad at my daughter for looking at herself in the mirror and pick at her while leaving the other girls alone. Luckily, my daughter didn't have any other fits or seem to notice. But as moms we know when someone doesn't like our child. I work for an Elemantry school and know how difficult kids can be, but have always actively worked to make sure kids feel included and never feel that I'm irritated by their existence (as they are, kids). Disappointing to say the least.

The instructors, Jeff and Cindy are so great! They are welcoming, encouraging, and professional. There are many regulars that attend the basics class as a warm up and then take the level 2 class an hour later. I have gone to 3 classes and plan on taking more in the future. I have also attended a members social that had food, drinks, music, and two hours of fun. Everyone that I have met at the classes are friendly and patient when I ask questions or get the moves wrong. I feel that I can only get better with practice and experience. There are other classes offered at the ballroom like Salsa,Tango, Country Two-Step,Country Swing and more! This is Northern Nevada's only nonprofit dance studio and they are doing everything they can to get everyone dancing. The research on partnership dancing and aging has been phenomenal! That alone should encourage everyone to dance! The Ballroom offers a free Dance With Me program for those who have cognitive and/or mobility issues such as Parkinson's or dementia. There is an afterschool program through Reno Housing Authority in underserved areas. There is also a program for young children! Last night was the annual fundraiser Gala for the studio and what fun we all had. What wonderful performances by all. And yes, I have the parent's permission to post the pictures of the youngest student to perform at the studio!

They unfortunately did not tell me they moved, so I first drove to the wrong location. Thankfully I was early and had enough time to get to the new location on Moana to fill out paperwork and get my daughter to the class. The staff were all very sweet and the teachers did such a great job with the kids. I got to watch the class from a window in the hall which was nice. The teachers were patient and gentle with all of the kids and my daughter seemed to have a wonderful time. Can't wait to be back!

We have been taking the oldest to see the Nutcracker for the last 3 years and she said this year was her favorite. The 2 year old sat through the entire show. I really liked the narration. I was skeptical about putting my 2.5 year old in ballet lessons because i wasn't sure how she would do with something that takes discipline and structure. She had been telling me she wants to do princess classes like the Nutcracker ballet at the Nugget that we saw, so I figured we should at least try it. I am SO glad we did. The instructors are INCREDIBLE. They have such patience working with little ones and they are so understanding if one of the kids have a toddler moment and are over instruction. They make it fun and I am so appreciative of how they have reached out to my daughter and helped her get more comfortable with their Fairytale Ballet program. I got the pleasure of attending the grand opening of this beautiful pole dancing fitness studio. It's located in downtown Reno. We got to see the instructor perform and show off their skills with a great DJ. They were offering some great deals on their classes including BOGO rates. It was such a Party in there. I can't wait to attend a class here. It looks so much fun. It's downtown so there is only street parking available.

I was excited to see a Groupon available for ten classes at Le Cirque Vagabond and happily purchased. I was disappointed. The silks (tissues) were dirty and needed to be washed and the floor needed to be cleaned. We did warm ups, which included push ups and crunches and other floor exercises, all I could focus on was not getting my face to touch the floor. There was so much hair and other junk of the floor, it was very dirty. A quick vacuum between classes could have cured that. On top of the dirtiness of the place, the place was very unwelcoming. The main instructor, and I think the owner, made the new people, particularly the Grouponers, feel like they were not important. Groupon is used to build your business, so if you don't want those people there, don't offer a Groupon. I was told not to practice anything he did not teach in his class (I had been elsewhere and new some other tricks) and once the "regulars" arrived, us new people, were pretty much ignored. It was like we had interrupted a clique and they wanted our money, but not to actually have to teach us. I went twice and will not use the additional eight classes I purchased.
