August 2023 To go order placed right after 8. They close at 9. I wanted to like it but won't return to this location. Parking is shared in a small parking lot with other businesses. There is a smoke shop right beside it. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side. This one is the original location. There is another location in deep Ellum and I believe one is in the Frisco area. Staff is very nice. I loved the cashier. The gentleman, who I believe a customer said was the owner, was busy at work, making sure orders were taken care of. $36.04 for two burgers a large fry and two bottled water. The double was $10-11 by itself. Fries are a la carte- drink as well. We placed a to go order, because it was a tight fit inside and later we were glad we did because it was a little warm....and the line was right beside the table we chose to sit and wait at. I ordered a double cheeseburger and bottled water. She ordered a grilled cheese, add a patty, add bacon, add grilled onion. She couldn't get mayo added on, since this wasn't technically a burger, so she got a side of mayo and a side of the secret sauce, both an extra charge. The large fry was definitely enough to split between two people,...it may have been $4. I didn't finish my burger. Was a little disappointed. I truly believe that the taste of the bread overpowered the burger. I ate the meat by itself, and it was decent, but the bread's sesame seed was stronger than most, and the bun was SLATHERED with butter. Now do not get me wrong: I LOVE a good toasted bun. But this was too much. I didn't want to taste an overload of butter in each bite. The burger itself was quite greasy, as well. But that with the combo of butter was too much for me. You order your burgers (junior, single, double, or triple patties), add your free or premium toppings, a side of fries, and a drink. This isn't your typical fancy burgers, but something simple, like back in the 2000s. I got two single hamburgers, two fries, and a drink for $22. The place was popping when I dropped by. Despite them being busy, the burger came out in 10 mins, and the number of fries was no joke. They REALLY filled my fries basket, but I'm not complaining. They serve old classic sodas, along with some jalapenos for your burger. The house sauce was pretty good, and biting in that freshly grilled burger brings me back to my elementary days.
