We stumbled upon this place randomly in Times Square and decided to give it a go. Frankly, a lot of the dishes remind me of Sichuan Mountain House - they hang the pork belly in the same style, with very similar props. The dishes were very solid, overall your standard Sichuan cuisine. What stood out the most was that each dish came with some cute and clever decorations - wooden boats, various small props, etc. It definitely felt like a cute mom and pop restaurant trying to make a good impression on customers. Overall I'd say it's a very standard Sichuan spot and the dishes are all as we expected. The only thing to note is that service was a tad slow even with there only being 3 occupied tables in the restaurant - perhaps we came at a slow time.

Came here with a group of 7 for a Saturday dinner. The interior is quite small and it was packed. We had to wait a while to be seated and served. The staff were friendly and helpful but they seem so busy all the time. We got 8 dishes to share. The grilled fish and the mapo tofu were a crowd favorite with the right amount of spice and flavor. Some other dishes esp a chicken soup dish with jalapeños is way too spicy and that overpowered everything else. The presentation is amazing and over the top but we loved it. The service is friendly and the food is authentically sichuan but the restaurant seems very understaffed. If they can improve on the service this place would be a solid addition to the Chinese food scene in nyc.

Hidden gem in Times Square! Very authentic Chinese cuisine with fair pricing and attentive service. Mapo Tofu ($18.95) - Absolutely loved it. Probably the best mapo tofu I've had, packed with flavor, a nice touch of mala spice, and perfectly balanced. I even asked for extra rice just because of this dish. Chinese Bacon with Cauliflower ($21.95) - Marinated pork belly stir-fried with cauliflower. Nothing too special, but the flavors worked well together. Cold Noodles ($9.95) - Sesame oil, soy sauce, and vinegar. Interesting combination, though not really my thing. Fried Rice Cake with Brown Sugar ($9.95) - Loved this dessert! Crispy fried mochi drizzled with brown sugar -- simple but so good. The menu is massive with 249 dishes in total! It's like a Chinese version of a diner menu. I'll need to study it before my next visit.

We really enjoyed our experience here, ordered a 炒饭 dish, 鱼香茄子, and 糖醋排骨 dish, all were amazing! Great service and quiet ambiance too. Will be back again.

Everything we ordered was incredibly authentic and flavorful. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere made the dining experience even better. It's definitely one of the best spots for Chinese cuisine near Times Square--highly recommend!

Kung pao chicken Sichuan style. So, so good!

Never judge a book by its cover; from the outside, Sky Pavilion looks like a simple hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant; it is far from simple, and I cannot wait to return! I had the best kung pao chicken I've ever had -- I know it's not a traditional Sichuan dish, and that's what the restaurant is known for. But even with so-called "American" Chinese food menu offerings, there's the option to have it prepared a Sichuan style, which I did. So flavorful! My friend got the Sichuan pepper chicken, and a side of the sautéed pumpkin and loved them both. Agree with others who have commented on the service -- absolutely lovely. The restaurant is also fairly quiet -- and the other customers reflected the fact that it is an authentic Sichuan restaurant as opposed to catering to tourists.

The food here tastes great, the prices are reasonable and the service is good. I've been here several times already.

This is the chicken Kung Pao it is $22 and doesn't come with rice. So $24 all things considered. Now you have to call them and tell them you want the king pao chinese style not American (Reddit user tip). Their version. Easy the spiciest I've ever had. Chicken is good but they crush you with chilis and peppercorns. I know I always complain about spice level But this was wild. And some bites were just chili peanuts and sauce. This is close to best in snow if it was just a little toned down but as is still a great representation of this dish. Just a little too pricey.

Very good. Went here with my boyfriend and tried many different dishes. Incredible and very authentic compared to a lot of restaurants. The portions are VERY big and must get the soups (we tried the mustard green / pork one) - flavorful! I'm Cantonese and this hits the spot!

An authentic Sichuan restaurant. You will think it's a tourist trap since it's located next to the port authority but this restaurant is very authentic. We came here with a group of 6 ppl. We had reservations and were seated quickly. All the food was delicious. The loofah and string beans were my favorite. The food presentation was beautiful. The duck with glutinous rice was flavorful. The millet spare ribs were interesting but good. The only negativity is the restaurant is too loud.

I came there for my birthday dinner with a group of 6 people. We ordered the pork with cucumber, the crab tofu, the fried duck with glutinous rice, the spicy chicken with fried dough twist, the millet ribs in lotus leaf, the pork lo mein, the string beans with minced pork, and the loofah. The best dishes were the spicy fried chicken with fried dough twist and the fried duck with glutinous rice. The dishes had large portions and decorated. Service was very fast and friendly. I would definitely be back! FYI - you get a free dessert if you post a review online.

Great for big groups. One of the largest menus I've ever seen. Interesting authentic choices and "American choices." Dishes are pretty saucy but delicious. Service was good.

I wish the sauce was sweeter though since the flavor was more j spicy/ salty. I think a different sauce like a hoisin chili combo would make the dish a lot tastier. They have a variety of sichuan dishes. I wasn't a huge fan of the swing pork belly since it's served cold and mostly tastes like cucumber- it was lacking flavor for me even with the red sauce/oil. The sour cabbage beef soup was interesting! It tasted nice and beefy, but was a bit too sour for me. The lemon dessert was my favorite! I did not expect to find a sit down Cantonese & Sichuan Restaurant in the heart of Herald Square…read more For sure a hidden gem worth trying. Came here with two other friends for dinner and we pigged out. We started off with Scallion Pancake with Shredded Duck ($15), which tasted amazing. The pancake was flaky and not overly soaked in oil, while the duck meat enhanced the taste. I think everything should order this for the table. We also got the Dan Dan Noodles w Minced Pork ($8), which is a staple dish in Sichuan cuisine. Make sure you stir the bowl to mix the sauce and minced pork. For veggies, we got the Sautéed Green Beans With Eggplant ($18), which tasted great. I usually get sautéed pea shoots for a veggie dish, but this was worth ordering as the eggplant tasted great along with the green beans. For entrees, we got the Spicy Green Pepper Fish Filet ($28 for filet). A classic Cantonese dish that comes with bok choy, so it turns out I didn't really need to order a veggie dish. Delicious. We also tried the OOHU Mao Xue Wang ($34), which may be one of the most spiciest dish available on the menu. This dish combines blood curd from a duck, tripe, and chicken gizzards along with other organs into a simmered broth containing chilis and peppercorns. They also use spam, vermicelli noodles, mushroom, and other things. If you're adventurous and you like spicy, I would recommend this. Best eaten with a cup of rice. Service is great as our server made good recommends and was overall friendly. They also have a party room you can book, which sounded pretty affordable. Don't recall what their minimum spend was, but it was super reasonable compared to a lot of other spots in Chinatown and Flushing.

We ordered multiple dishes which came out one after the other. Some of the standouts for me were the Pork Intestine Dry Pot ($20.95), Crispy Tofu with Salty Egg Yolk ($23.95), and Sauteed String Beans ($16.95). Many spicy food options since this is a Szechuan spot afterall. Some dishes were a bit too salty and spicy, which they did discount after we brought it to their attention. Overall, decent spot and good for large groups. Otherwise, I didn't find this spot to be too memorable (not bad, not great).
