Handpulled noodles is a casual northern noodle spot that delivers in flavor. You can order online or at a kiosk to the right of the cashier. The flexibility to choose your noodles and customize your spice was great - the ribbon had much more chew than the chopped ribbon - exactly what you want from a handpulled noodle. We also got a shallot sauce on the side which was tasty Solid noodle joint!

Overall: 4.2/5 I ordered on Postmates for lunch on a Monday and it delivered earlier than expected, less than 30 minutes total, so I was pretty surprised. The Dapan Niu ($18.70) with low spice and ribbon noodles is the original and recommended pairing and I can see why. The ribbon noodles are bouncy, delicious, and coat the beef stew really nicely. Most of the braised beef was tender though a few pieces needed just a little more cooking time. The low spice level wasn't spicy at all so if you like a kick I would go with medium next time. The only thing I would change is the giant bell pepper slices since I wish they would cut them into smaller pieces or strips. Overall this was really good and I was satisfied after eating just half the bowl. The Lychee Pekoe Black Tea ($3.30) is the perfect drink to wash down a heavy or umami forward meal. It's perfectly sweetened, refreshing, and affordable too. The Fragrant Shallot Sauce ($0.55) can be added as a topping on your dumplings or noodles but honestly it's not really needed. The Steamed Pork and Chive Dumplings ($11) come with 6 plump dumplings that were good but nothing amazing. They also smell pretty strong when reheated so I would eat them fresh and skip saving them as leftovers.

Great noodles in a bare bones room You order at a counter and there are approximately 20 seats around a counter along the edge of the room. The portions a generous. The noodles in the Dapan Zhu are covered in a tasty sauce with bites of pork. There are no rest rooms for customers.

Great noodles, mediocre service. Best for takeout. The traditional hand pulled noodle comes with a tomato based sauce which is super flavorful and rich. The noodles are extremely bouncy and delicious. The dumplings were good as well, but make sure that you get some black vinegar from the front to eat them with. The cumin hand pulled noodle was also really good option for a more floral flavor with the same perfectly bouncy noodles. The servers seem to not know what's on the menu or what any sauces are for or they just don't care. Overall, I'd con back for the noodles but take them to go.

TL;DR - Casual Chinese noodle spot in Time Square area with Time Square pricing. Came here with some friends ahead of a movie nearby. Ordered the spicy cumin stir fry with the chopped ribbon noodles spicy heat (level 3) plus some Hot & Tangy Buddhas Veggies dumplings at medium heat (level 2). Food came out at a decent clip, but the noodles I received were legitimately not spicy at all. Cumin flavors were solid although I didn't find the noodles to have a particularly good bounciness. Asked the cashier about the noodle spice and they did over to remake it, but I was short on time so they ended up providing a dry spice I could add which was nice. Definitely added quite the kick! I ordered beef and barely found any beef in it which was disappointing. The dumplings themselves were fine. Pretty standard and nothing really to write home about. Overall, I wasn't super impressed by this spot and it was quite pricey. About $30 with tax for the noodles and 6pc of dumplings. I understand the area probably necessitates that kind of pricing, but unfortunately it fell a little flat for me. If you're craving noodles this could be a solid option, but I don't see myself coming back here again. There's some a decent amount seating which was a pro. Also it was an order at the kiosk and bus your own table. So again, very casual and laidback spot.

Small quaint spot. Able to order with an attendant or on a self pay station. No bathroom. It's a small spot with all wall bench seating. I got the scallion stir fry. Door was fresh and hot and good portion. Not overly priced. I would come again.

We recently came here on a Saturday after catching a Broadway show in the area and were slightly disappointed in the noodles that we got. This was our first time trying the midtown location having been a fan of the Harlem location. We ordered the lamb hand pulled noodles and while it was okay it was not up to the standard that we were used to for a hand pulled noodle spot, especially compared to the Harlem location or their competition, Xi'ans. I can't quiet put my finger on it but it did not taste as fresh. Our orders were processed fairly quickly and the space itself is no frills. Judging by the rave reviews and the occasional negative review, my mediocre noodles could have just been that batch or related to a chef. But if I'm back in the area, I would probably give it another shot since I've had mostly positive experiences with their uptown location.

I enjoyed the ambiance more than anything actually. They had outlets for me to charge my phone while I watched videos. Watching videos and eating feels like THE experience. The soup was alright. I got level 3 spicy because level 4 and 5 had a warning on it that it wouldn't be returned if it was too spicy. It wasn't spicy at all. I'd have gotten the 4. I got the flat pulled noodles and next time I'll get the lo mein style. There's some seating, maybe enough for 10 people.

I got the traditional hand pulled noodles with chicken for takeout. The interior is spacious and clean. They do have seating. However, they do not have a bathroom. The noodles were good and the sauce was good. The takeout was ready earlier than expected so that was nice.

Omg the noodles here are absolutely ridiculous. So much so there are no pictures to show!!! Everything was absolutely freshly made to order and delicious. You can customize the level of spice so even weak ass bitches can eat here. The staff is so friendly and the place is hella clean.

Suuuuper THICK doughy noodles. As thick as my chopstick. Did not enjoy this eating experience.
    Alice X.

This is a review for delivery order. I do not like these noodles at all. I was expecting something chewy and bouncy but instead the noodles are like literal bricks of dough. Made the entire eating experience extremely hard to eat since the thick noodles tangle and it's hard to pick up with utensils. Flavor can improve overall as well. Medium spicy was lacking flavor. My bf bought the big plate chicken noodle and it was too sweet. I've never had such sweet sauce for big plate chicken before. It was like sweet soy sauce. The gua bao is okay. Tiny, pretty dry. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea but I've never had noodles /this/ difficult to eat. And for this type of noodle to cost extra fees is kind of crazy. I would skip this place.

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

"How 'bout there?" he responded pointing to Excellent Dumpling House. It was directly across the street. I pulled up Yelp, saw good reviews and readily agreed. At 3:30, the restaurant was empty. There were a few takeout orders, but we were the only people sitting down for late lunch. And y'know ... it was pretty good. Wonton soup is what I'd expect in Chinatown. Wonton wrappers were thin -- my preference -- the stuffing delicious and the broth flavorful. They were generous with the beef in our chow fun. Good, but the noodles needed a jolt. So I asked for soy sauce which was sort of a solution. Shrimp with vegetables was great. A lot of shrimp, too. There are lunchtime specials on weekdays, reasonable prices, and nice people work there. Next time it makes sense to try dumplings since it is, after all a dumpling house.

Located within the historic Chelsea Market building--a former Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first produced--the restaurant feels theatrical in the best possible way. The soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting, and energetic atmosphere create a sense of occasion from the moment you walk in. It feels less like simply going out to dinner and more like stepping into a beautifully staged production. I started with a Botanist Gin Martini with a twist, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The surprise star of the evening was the new Cucumber Tiger Salad. The balance of flavors was exceptional: bright acidity, a pleasant touch of heat, and just enough mint to make each bite feel fresh and exciting. Every so often the mint would come through and suddenly all the flavors would click together in a way that made me immediately want another bite. This is a dish I would happily order again. Next came the Edamame Dumplings. They were delicate and comforting, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying broth. The broth adds depth and richness that elevates the entire dish. My only suggestion would be the slightest touch more salt, perhaps even a finishing sprinkle of black volcanic salt for both flavor and presentation. I also found myself wishing there were a bit more of that delicious broth because it contributes so much to the overall experience. For my entrée, I ordered the Glazed Alaskan Black Cod, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The fish was rich, buttery, and perfectly prepared. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully the accompaniments were composed. The pickled cucumbers brought brightness, acidity, and crunch, while the black bean and eggplant relish delivered deep savory notes and unexpected complexity. I'm generally not an eggplant fan, but this relish was outstanding. The cucumbers and relish sit at opposite ends of the flavor spectrum, yet both somehow make the cod even better. Looking back, I think a glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside the cod would have been the perfect pairing. I finished with the Miso Caramel Milk Bar, which was spectacular. Decadent, sweet, salty, and touched with just enough umami to keep every bite interesting. The chocolate crumble underneath added a wonderful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy ice cream and luscious caramel sauce. Every component worked together perfectly, creating a dessert that was both indulgent and sophisticated. From start to finish, the meal felt polished, thoughtful, and memorable. Thank you!
