Nice staff but food was just okay! Clean and quick if you just want in and out but if you are craving brunch not the place

Hours are 7:00am to 2:30pm so don't show up for dinner. Food was done to perfection. We were served nice sized portions and they were reasonably priced. Service was extremely slow. We arrived after 9:00am which was the cutoff for the discounted breakfast specials. We would have expected the dining room to be less crowded but it wasn't. It took a good 20 minutes to get our food. The star of Skillets was its cleanliness. The restaurant was spotlessly clean. I witness employees following the CAYGO (Clean As You Go) policy. The food is served the generous portions. Everything was tasty. Period. A coffee was really good, but the taste in the omelettes was confusing. Their specialty hashbrowns were rich and flavorful. The staff was very helpful, from SHARON, who seated us to Hannah, who took care of us. read more

They are good. They have amazing gluten free pancakes and seem to be celiac safe. I did not get sick after. The service is always good, and the vibe is a true southern theme. read more

This is an update. They made my eggs exactly the way I like them! The hash browns were over done and tasteless. Our server was on a slow almost soporific pace. He was fine just like real slooooooow. Kinda chancy on the toast. Otherwise, a real nice restaurant.My recommendation is to stay clear of peak times. The waits are not unreasonable however, I have been in on off peak times and no problem with immediate seating. Still would like to try lunch. read more

2nd time eating here, and both times food has been consistently excellent. *Bacon is very good. Today I had the avocado tomatoe Bennedict. With hash brown and added Bacon. The chocolate chip scone was so good. I brought half meal home and ate for lunch. I have yet to beable to finish my meal here, portions are large. Service today was exemplary I am happy to say. Looks like they corrected the one flaw from the first time I went. Sorry forgot to take pics. The other person in our party had the Bennedict over potatoe pancakes, needless to say he was almost licking the plate! We love this restaurant so close to us. Boca needed this! read more

I went for the second time today and sat at the bar by myself for a quick breakfast. The food and service were excellent even with it being swamped being a Sunday morning. That being said, my reason for this review is the attitude and work ethic of the staff. I have worked in a number of restaurants over my 20 years in the business. It was refreshingly fun to watch Hunter, the kitchen manager/expo, praise the guys in the kitchen for doing a good job, and seemingly execute a really busy shift. Debra, the general manager was helping all over the restaurant , and I overheard her say "I hope everyone is making money today" which is just honestly kind. To have a manager who is really looking out for her staff is hard to find. Also, I believe there was a regional manager Jose in the restaurant that day. He was rolling silverware and running food, got me a menu too. He was working just as hard as anyone there which is just something you don't get from typical DPs. I was just honestly very impressed with the team as a whole and I wanted to let someone know. Will be back soon, keep up the good work. read more

Went to Skillets for the first time today. Very attractive place and surprisingly quiet in spite of how full the restaurant was. Best part of the experience was Hunter - our waiter. He could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We will definitely go back and, if we lucky, Hunter will take care of us again. read more

Corned beef hash - very mediocre, potato pancake - just a bunch of hash browns in a round patty with no taste. Eggs had to be recooked - not over medium. Service was excellent. Fast and pleasant. Sitting outside here was fun. Food wasn't what I had hoped. Potato pancakes were soggy. Sour cream and apple sauce were served in less than appealing way. Banana waffle was hard and bananas were not in the batter, just sliced on top. Cream for the coffee was impossible to open. A generous 2 star - sadly. Convenient to my home, great corned beef but for me it stops there. Decided to give it another shot this past weekend, I ordered eggs ranchero, everyone's meal at my table came out hot whereas mine was cool to the touch. Told the server who promptly took it away only to return minutes later with my original dish on top of another dish - they nuked it bread and all. I said something and they said they'd remake it, waited for a good 20 minutes, server never came by nor did the manager. By the time it came out my party had to leave for work, I said something again only for the server to take my plate, wrap it, and charge me for it..... Needless to say I'm done which is a shame. read more

I have eaten here 4 times in the past few months. The first time it was quite good both food and service. After that it went down hill. The next time the grilled tomatoes were rotten as well as the tomatoes in the salad. The next time our waitress forgot our order. When my sandwich came the toast was cold which meant that the order sat on the counter. But today was the worst. I was stuck with the same slow waitress as last time. There were only 3 tables with customers. We gave our order. We both ordered pulled pork sandwiches without cole slaw and a plain potato pancakes with no cheese. 45 minutes later we still had no food. I had to ask for the manager. He said the kitchen was backed up. I said there were only 3 tables taken. He said he was short staffed. Both statements were crazy to me. Finally the waitress brought our food. Both of our sandwiches were loaded with the cole slaw that we didn't want and the potato pancakes were oozing with cheese. I blew up at the manager who took the sandwiches off the bill. We paid for the iced teas and left. I predict that this poor excuse for a restaurant will be out of business by the end of the season or at least I hope so! Skillets makes IHOP and Dennys look good! read more

I visit the Garden Shoppe area often and was delighted to see the opening of this new coffee shop. i stopped in the other day and had the hash with eggs, fruit and a strawberry scone and a cup of tea. i was thrilled to see they made the tea in a thermos - i.e. poured the boiling water over the tea. It gave me a full 2 mugs of hot tea. The meal was super! The scone delicious. The choices amazing! The price consistent with competitors. Clearly this was part of their grand opening, I counted 15+ staff? Once they are on their feet suspect those individuals may go back to their home bases. A Plus they had hired a familar face - one server who had been at this location with previous employers. She stopped by to say "hello" I wish skillets all the best! It is a wonderful breakfast and lunch option. i look forward to trying it for lunch. It has the feel of quality that First Watch has developed. Food is delish. Atmosphere is fine. Waitstaff is very friendly and helpful. With the cost of eating our getting so expensive, this is a great way to eat out without spending a fortune. Of course, it's not the same as dinner! Especially good are the waffles with fruit. read more

I haven't even tasted the food yet as I'm waiting for my to go order, but I'm so pleased at how sweet the staff is I won't care if the food is average, but I suspect it's going to be delicious. They greet you with smiles and the cashier gives helpful suggestions and she waited patiently for my lengthy indecisiveness. I'm so happy to get kind service these days and to feel appreciated for my patronage. The place itself is clean, bright and colorful and prices are better than Star.....s. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying out the lunch menu. Good customer service isn't dead after all. read more
