Just had some Skeets for dinner. I'm stuffed! Or should I say "loaded"? My husband and I each had a loaded baked potato tonight. It's basically our "thing" that we get at Skeets. Imagine a huge baked potato, split in half with your choice of meat (we like the brisket), and your choice of toppings: cheese, sour cream, butter, chives and bacon. It absolutely FILLS an entire large styrofoam container. You can get their sauce on top of everything, or on the side. For sides, I highly recommend the green beans. They are so savory and you can see the bacon they toss in with them. Mmmm bacon bathed beans. Also, their grilled/smoked ears of corn are out of this world. Sweet and smoky, crisp and juicy. Tastes like summertime! Their rice is also good. Just be warned that it could be a little spicy for those who are sensitive to spicy foods. Ditto on the jalapeño bread. It's good, but spicy. For a barbecue joint, their meats are very tasty. Their brisket is fork tender, and I believe you can get it in two variations, one is smokier and leaner and the other is softer and fattier. Their turkey and sausage are really good too. I would suggest getting a sampling of 2 or 3 meats if you can't decide. They are all good! Be sure to watch them when they cut up your meats. Their knives must be super sharp because they cut up the meat so swiftly! As for the barbecue sauce, it's a bit on the runnier side, but like barbecue itself, there are tons of variations and recipes out there. It's not spicy at all and it has a smoky, somewhat sweet flavor. It's a nice complement to the meat. Their desserts are pretty good too; try the pecan pie or the peach cobbler. Both round out your meal with a sweet ending. So, if you're looking for a great local barbecue joint, look no further than Skeet's (if you're on this end of Pearland). If you're on the other end, I'd suggest Central Texas BBQ. But, if you want to go further afield, I would highly recommend Rudy's. But Skeets fits the bill if you want to eat in or take out and want a hearty, meaty dinner. read more

TLDR: Customer Service sucks. Food was average. Area: (3/5) My SO and I came rather late to get food (10pm). They close at 2am. Keep that in mind. Before we entered, it looks like there were some people just smoking some joints within 10 walking steps of the entrance. Okay okay okay. Let them have their fun. Service: (0/10). We walked in and expected a greeting or something as there was only one person eating at this time. Instead, the employees were either just staring at us or were just talking to each other. After staring at the menu for 3-5 minutes, I awkwardly walked up to the counter and said hi. The server said "What do you want." Okay okay. Seems kind of discourteous but maybe cause it's late. I told him I want the three meat combo for dinner. He just stared at me. I thought he didn't hear me over the loud bar music so I repeated myself. He just kept staring at me. My SO told me he wanted to know what meats I wanted. Well... why didn't he communicate that himself instead of staring at me like I'm Mentally Incompetent. I apologized and laughed awkwardly. The server just stared like he wanted me to just hurry up. As I mentioned earlier, it closes at 2am and there was no one in line to order besides us. This place should change their hours or hire employees that aren't upset about staying up late. Anyways, I told him my meats and he asked if I wanted to go or eat here. I told him here and he started putting the meats on a tray. My SO perked in and told me she wanted to leave and eat at home. I apologized to the server and asked it to go. His face was not happy. He paused and stared at me for a sec and grabbed a to go box rather forcefully. Okay. With that attitude, I'm done with this place. I paid the bill, grabbed my food and left. Honestly, this is the most negative I wrote but I hope it was just this one day service was absolute garbage. Like my rating says it ok. I prefer it to over the other BBQ places in town. I get the stuff baked potato alot and it's always good. And I haven't yet had any misses with the brisket but I have had a few misses with the ribs. Their sauce I like served on the side. Sides, I always get the potato salad and green beans, never missed with my sides choices. The peach cobbler is also delish. I have been to Skeets many times, but my last visit on 12/14/18 was unacceptable. My wife ordered 5 loaded Baked Potatoes on the Skeets Web-site. When I went to pick up our order, i waited in line for 5 minutes to get helped by Mauro or someone. I told him I had an on-line order, to which he said, " I don't know anything about an on-line order. We don't do online orders." When I showed his (Skeets) web-site and my order, he said, " I don't have anything to do with that. We don't do online orders." He then then went on to the next customer. I called my wife and told her they said they didn't do online orders, to which she shared that our card had been charged , so how could that be. I then waited in line again, now being there for twenty minutes, and asked to speak with the manager and the same guy said he was the manager. He then gave me a card and said if you have a problem, call this guy on the card. I asked him how his store's website said "online orders", but yet he didn't know anything about it and he is the manager. He said, " I don't know anything about that." Apparently, a man who said he was the owners brother was standing there saying nothing the whole time, until he finally said that he thought the were transitioning to a new system or something. I then asked why a manager would not know about anything to do with this and better yet not offer any apology or anything. The manager then said abruptly, "Do you want the potatoes I had ordered while standing in line or not. I said, "You can't offer so much as a sorry for the inconvenience?" He then said to the the lady there that I didn't want them and went to the next customer again. I then said, this is unacceptable and incompetent! To which the brother of the owner said, "Welk, I don't know about incompetent,.... To which I said, what would you call it? Either way, I just left the potatoes there... I went down to Big Horn and got 5 potatoes and great service. I will never go back to Skeets again and would not recommend them to anyone! I have been coming here on and off for a while now, and unfortunately I just can't do it anymore, at least NOT the bar when their bartender KENDAL is at the bar. This lady is very unperfesional about her job, and for some unknown reason is holding a grudge, because we were not happy with her so called service. I did notice, and others confirmed, things usually turn bad after she gets full of the same shots she supposed to be serving. Having a bad attitude with the customers, avoiding service, and screaming and yelling profanity at customers, (the same patron who are actually trying to bring business to the establishment, that she alone ran off THREE DIFFERENT TIMES)because they was not happy with a drink is not what you would expect from a bartender. A decent bartender would offer another drink in exchange, add a little more to the original, or at least suggest something different that the customer might like, get that top and add the the businesses clientel. She did everything but any of those. She chose to express her animosity to the entire bar. The worst experience I had there so far. On the upside, the drink prices are not bad, the food is good, and the other bartender Jazmine seems to be ok. I am usually pretty forgiving when it comes to food, but I tried Skeets for the first time yesterday and was shocked that I was unable to enjoy any of my meal. As a first timer, I ordered a pork rib dinner to go--a staple for any Texas BBQ joint, right? I selected potato salad and mac and cheese for my sides. Total bill was $12.94 which his kind of pricey for a single-serving BBQ plate. I made the short trip home and sat down to eat. The potato salad was ghastly. It was warm, flavorless, bizarrely white, just horrid. I spit out my first and only bite of it and then scraped it from my plate. The mac and cheese was clearly the Kraft boxed kind. Nothing to it. But they added some sort of seasoning to it that gave it a sweet/spicy after taste similar to chili paste (?) so they managed to mess up boxed mac and cheese. The pork ribs were ok... they were a bit underdone in some areas the a few pieces were extra fatty. Overall, it was hugely disappointing. I should have known. The place only had 2 customers when I popped in, but I attributed that to the rainy weather. Now I know better. I will not be back. Oh, wait. I did enjoy one part of my meal. I haven't experienced customer much worse than this place. I came to this restaurant one evening after staying late at the office, I would say around 9 pm or so. I checked out their website before leaving the office and it clearly states that they are open until 11 pm. So I came in the restaurant in my work attire, my boyfriend, aunt, uncle and little cousin met me up at the restaurant (so we would have had a fairly decent size party of 5). Immediately when I walked in the door, a man at the counter/register says "we're not open". I said "you site and the front door says that you're open until 11 pm, plus your Open sign is turned on" and he said that he had "no control over what the website said" but he neglected to give me a reason why the front door of the restaurant were "incorrect". The man started talking to a young girl that was working the cash register, I said "that's ridiculous" and he immediately replied "what do you want me to do, make you a sandwich or something?" Of course, I don't want this snippy man to make me a sandwich - I have no idea what you're going to do to it now that you're obviously irritated that I asked you to do your job during the operating hours your restaurant has displayed on its front door. There was no reason for the attitude or for us to be denied service 2 hours before the establishment was going to close. They were just being lazy and since the night was slow, I think they wanted to close up shop early. We left the restaurant and the man locked the door and turned off the open sign, even when there were customers still dining inside. read more

Mediocre barbeque in a strip mall in suburbia. Granted, i am by no means a barbeque expert, but i have had far better in my time (and far worse as well). The meat has a nice smoky flavor, but the sauce is forgettable - watery and tasteless. The 'pulled pork' listed on the menu turned out to be sliced. We stumbled upon Skeets BBQ after a bad experience at Stadia nearby. It is a great hidden gem in Pearland. The bar side was great for watching football and enjoying some drinks.
