One of the dishes for two...but could definitely have fed more!

Since my friend and I had never had Serbian food, we tried this place before going to the arcade down the street. The vibe of the restaurant was a little confusing. The atmosphere seems like a rather formal restaurant, but there are also giant TVs showing soccer matches. A piano is also in the space for live music at night, apparently. Most of the other customers were men, except a family with a small child, at the time we were there. The menu is extensive, including a number of dishes "for two," one of which we selected (boemski mixed plate) which consisted of various grilled meats and sausages, mushrooms, french fries topped with feta cheese, and toasted bread with cheese spreads and a red pepper pesto-type sauce. (We did a lot of googling menu items as they weren't always explained/described). The meal was tasty and we definitely had leftovers. A lot of meat! I felt like i needed a salad later. Overall, this seems to be a place that has many regulars; if you are looking for Balkan cuisine, you may become one!

We came here after doing some work at ours friends new house, a treat for all the work, very nice. We started with a plate filled with grilled calamari with lemon, balsamic vinegar and cocktail sauce. The calamari was made to perfection and our server was just amazing, he kept my tea filled, and paid great attention to our table. We decided to split a sandwich, for my wife and myself, good choice as the sandwich was bigger than normal. We ordered the Serbian sandwich, see pictures, that was half of the sandwich. It comes with different meats and homemade cheese, that was super good and filling too. Our friends ordered the mixed grill platter and it looked like an order from Bedrock and that big, see pictures. The platter had kabobs and sausages with cheeses from region near Serbia. We will be enjoying items from their menu in the future and really enjoying the good times ahead.

I came here with a small group of ladies for a bittersweet going away dinner for one of my friends. We visited during a week night a few weeks ago. We had requested seating outside but when we arrived, they had one inside prepped for us. That was a bummer because it wasn't communicated to us ahead of time and there's obvious reasons why people want to solely dine outside during this time. To start, I got a glass of Chardonnay and we ordered some apps which included: calamari, grilled feta, and the stuffed mushrooms. The grilled feta plate was so fresh and I liked the flavor. The stuffed mushrooms were also very flavorful but weren't hot when they were served so that was a bummer. For an entree, we loved the feta app so we got the greek salad and split the branzino fish. The fish was cooked well but I wasn't aware that it was going to be served completely bone-in. Regardless, it tasted fresh and was served hot with grilled veggies. The fish was on the pricer side at $26 and I'm not sure I would order it again. For dessert, we ordered the dessert crepes. These crepes were my favorite thing we ordered. They were cooked well, with a tiny crunch on the edges and the nutella hit the sweet spot. Overall, we had a nice time here. Something they could have done differently: communicate our table placement ahead of time and to ensure all their staff is wearing their masks properly (nose inside the mask.) During these times, customers really want to see the entire staff is following proper healthy and safety standards.

"Mixed Plate for 2 People" - bring your appetite!

If you can resist the temptation to fill up on hot dogs, popcorn, etc. at nearby Brookfield Zoo, reward yourself with a hearty meal at this upscale ethnic eatery. Our midday repast began with tasty Serbian-style bread accompanied by two different cheese spreads. Bowls of chicken noodle soup (included in the entrée price) arrived next. For our entrée, the Missus and I shared the "Mixed Plate for 2 People." The huge oval platter was heaped with enough roasted/grilled chicken, sausage, beef and pork to satisfy 4 hungry people. Everything was delish, though not as juicy or tender as you might expect. For $11 per person (at the time of this writing), this shared entrée is an excellent value. We bagged up nearly half of our food to enjoy at home. For less-adventurous diners, the kitchen also whips up good American food including burgers and club sandwiches. Our server, efficient and all smiles, took the time to answer our many questions about foods that were new to us. He later surprised our party with a complimentary dessert for all to share.

Respectfully, I would give this no stars if I could. I went with a group of friends, and we were sitting at our table for about 15 minutes before someone even came over with water. Our server came over with water eventually, and the first thing she said was "what do you want". I'm a server myself, and that was just too brash. My friends ordered margarita pizza, and i got cevaps. the pizzas came out quick, but there was practically no sauce on them. we were talking amongst ourselves about it, and i assume she over heard because she set down some pizza sauce on the table. We all tried it, and it was straight from a cold jar in the refrigerator. The cevaps didn't come out for almost an hour, when everyone around us (who sat after) got their meat dishes. I asked her about it twice, just to get a time update, but she would walk away. It was just frustrating. Very poor service, poor food, and felt unwanted in the restaurant.

Although there are no tables, there's a ledge by the window with some stools if you want to "dine in". The guy running the place looked young but was super friendly and seemed genuinely passionate about the deli. He told me they make their meats and soups in store. It was a cold day so I opted for a small size of each of their soils that day- chicken noodle, cream of chicken, and roasted stuffed peppers. Everyone in the family had a taste of each and we all had different favorites so I will conclude that regardless of what you get, you will enjoy it! My husband also had their chicken pesto panini while I split a ham and swim with my son. Good flavors and fresh ingredients. Also excellent proportions. We will definitely be back!

I got the Italian sub, it came with mortadella, hot capicola, Genoa salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, and vinegar on Italian bread. First bite, I was like yes... this is it. The flavor just hits right, salty, tangy, and a little spicy from the capicola. Bread had that perfect chew, not too soft, not rock hard. Maybe could've been a little toastier but that's just me, but honestly, it was solid. We also got the Turkey Cobb. Roasted turkey, blue cheese, and applewood smoked bacon on thick sourdough with avocado. That one was so good. The blue cheese really stood out, packed a flavorful punch that tied it all together. Portions were generous too, I didn't even finish it all in one go. I'd definitely come back and try the other sandwiches.

I had the red pepper and cheddar quiche -- delicious! It was light and fluffy and came out in great timing. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the dressing was light -- just enough. But for a premium price, I expect premium product, and this place is rough around the edges in ways that feel easy to fix. I'm pointing them out in hopes they'll be corrected. First the positive - the food was pretty good. Not great for the price, but pretty good. Drip coffee was better than most diners/cafes in the area. The ambience was pleasant. Here's the issues. 1. The furniture needs a refresh and I don't think the place has even been open that long. The side tables by the window are losing their finish - a fragment of wood got caught under my finger nail as I was sitting down and just lightly grazed the table with my hand. I also brushed away a few additional flakes coming up. The chiffon curtains are charming until you look closer and see they're speckled with food from past diners. A moss ball decoration in the bathroom is missing half its moss. All of these decisions speak to choices made for asethetics as inexpensively as possible rather than a clean dining experience. 2. Value for money and food quality are also an issue. $20 for one slice of sourdough cut in half, a rather overdone French omelette with sour cream on top (not mentioned on the menu and a weird choice) a bowl of fruit I wasn't interested in rather than a choice of free side, and sausages I paid extra for, is not good value to me. The bread was good! The omelette was mediocre. The sausage was very solid, had a slight funk to it that I liked and suggested to me it was made in house - but 7 dollars for two sausage patties is absolutely wild. I would suggest Milkstop rethink the combos on its menu to include more and be priced a touch more transparently. 3. Finally, service. Everyone was VERY KIND, again, want to stress that, but service was slow and rather inattentive for most of the meal. The place was only half full, but water and an initial drink order were slow, and I waited for a while for the check while the staff chatted amongst themselves in the corner of the room. Not trying to be a dick, the life of a service worker is tough, but the place was mostly empty and I noticed they already charge a 3% service gratuity on your orders, so I'd expect a little better. Basically this place has a very charming surface with some wonkiness around the edges. I will definitely come back again but guys, come on - ditch the gross chiffon curtains, for both our sakes.

I recommend a larger bowl. The server was friendly. I gave it 3 stars because it's absolutely filthy! I came right when they opened on a weekday, and the floors weren't cleaned from the night before.
