Loyal customer for years but Casey's has become so overpriced and greedy for what you get. Bought cooked shrimp which averaged $1.25 ea., unwrapped the cheese I paid over $5 to find only 6 paper thin slices, the ribeye steak was actually pieces tied together and the stuffed chicken breast which previously averaged $6 ea. is now almost $9. Finally there is the 3% credit card charge. Switched to Whole Foods which is better and more affordable. read more

It's all about the butcher shop! If you're looking for something really special to wow a crowd, Casey's has an amazing selection of meat and seafood. Particularly things you may not be able to get at local grocery stores (maybe excluding Whole Foods from that statement, but sometimes even they don't have what you really need). They can usually order something even if they don't have it on hand. We got a beautiful crown roast one Christmas, turned out amazing with the Bobby Flay recipe we used. They've ordered me things like duck, monkfish, steaks. All superb, meaty selection. The deli here is worth mentioning too. (I can't remember if they do fresh made sandwiches?? I think so). The grocery part of the store isn't really much. But the butcher section is second to none and the main reason you come here. Certain parts of the city are flush with excellent meat shops but in the suburbs, Casey's is your hook up. read more

I've been here twice and both times I've been had. The first time I got two plates of ribs. Got to the counter to pay and it was $75 more than other places. I was sticker shocked and didn't think to ask the price off the pork belly I ordered either. Went back the next day for pork belly and asked what grade of meat the ribs are. He said everything is choice. I asked why the high price it's not even prime. He was nice and said "he just works there". I asked the price on the pork belly and it was two dollars a pound more than the most I have ever paid in 50 years. At that point it was no shock to me, no explanation and higher prices. It is the go to meat market/deli in Western Suburbs. I visited there yesterday and 1 of the deli items purchased was Boars Head Tavern Ham .The man who sliced it on the machine folded each slice in half and layered them from left to right so that the ham slices were attractive and not stick together. I have never had anyone machine slice ham like that in a Deli. If you were having a buffet, you could just transfer it to a platter. I have been shopping there since 1976 and they never disappoint, It has the atmosphere of an old fashioned meat market and super customer service. read more

This market was recommended by my local family. This was my first time here. Casey's Market was established in 1969. We arrived here on a very cold windy day on December 23 prior to Christmas where the morning temperature was -9 degrees without the wind chill of -30 degrees. We were here to pick up some sandwiches for today's lunch and prime rib for tomorrow's Christmas eve dinner. The floor was slippery from the melting snow. The place is clearly popular and busy with customers queuing up to make their purchases. The meat department had a separate line to wait for service. I firstly picked up a 3 pound prime rib from their meat department followed by four of their sandwiches, some chips and dip from their deli section, which had a separate line. My total cost for the sandwiches was $56. Our sandwiches and the prime rib were tasty. I enjoyed my spicy Italian sub. I would return here for more prime rib or sandwiches. read more

I can only speak to their frozen meals, but the ones with chicken are overpriced garbage. I got the chicken parm and the chicken duvan. After microwaving according to the directions, the chicken was still very pink. Both tasted terrible. Female employee with the glasses was rude. I've lived in western springs my whole life and have grown up on Casey's food. Their boneless skinless Italian marinated chicken breasts have always been a staple. Bought a place in western springs recently and still go to Casey's about once every other week to get chicken breasts for week night dinners. Other great options- - almost no fat tuna salad (I think they make it with Greek yogurt). I put it in a wrap for lunch sometimes - crab stuffed mushrooms (great as a holiday appetizer- these have been an appetizer at family Christmas parties for as long as I can remember) - raspberry chicken salad (so much fat but so so so good) - chicken fajitas (ready to throw in the skillet with seasoning, onions, peppers - you are ready to roll!) Love coming here after work and picking up something that's seasoned/marinated and ready to go so all you have to do is throw it in the oven or on the grill. For Christmas, we always order prime rib and it is always out of this world delicious! The staff are always so kind and accommodating. This year we ordered corned beef for a large party we were having. My husband accidentally placed the order for uncooked corned beef. With fifty people coming over in a few hours, I broke down. A gentleman at Casey's searched for a resolution. With two hours before guests were to arrive, we did not have time to cook the corned beef. Worst small market ever. Extremely overpriced mediocre food. Everyone that works there looks and acts miserable. Last time I was there the guy that made my sandwich in the deli reeked of alcohol and took forever to make it. I saw cockroaches on the floor and customers not wearing masks. My friend recommended this place and she said that this is where I can get good quality seafoods and meat and I totally agree with her. This store definitely has the good quality various and different choices of fresh seafoods and meat. The staff in here is also accommodating and very helpful and I also told him that it was my first time to visit the store and recommended me their best products. This is very far from my place which is very sad and how wish I live in this neighborhood. Great deli. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Chili con queso cold dip is so delicious for around 6$ a pound! We got some meat to grill and left with 2 deli sandwiches for around 7$ each. I had the italian which was huge-packed with flavor and meat! Bf had the lemon pepper chicken on wheat with keylime mayo. I didnt think I would like his but ended up eating half-so yeah, it was great! Some things are high priced so yoi just have to look around. Yummy!!... I went here to buy a beef brisket (first time in) and was awe struck by the amount of prepared foods. Definitely my kind of place. Let's talk brisket. I couldn't get brisket at the #1 food chain. They don't carry it. I have a recipe I'm going to try in my slow cooker. They had 2 in the food case and when I asked for a 4 lb. piece he went in back brought out a 9 lb. piece and cut it in half. That's what I'm talking about! It's a gourmet meat and deli store. I will have to go back for the deli part. But I'm sure it's good! Just from from looking in the coolers. A little pricey, but you pay for quality. Pork chops, Boston Roast, Steaks, tenderloin etc...all meats are amazing and fresh! Can't say enough about the butchers!!! AMAZING

So far I've only been twice but I am very happy with it and will continue to visit. I've tried their stuffed cabbages and mushrooms, both of which were solid. They had instructions on the packaging for how to prepare, which was very helpful. We also had a chicken kiev, which was not quite as successful. It was a bit bland and all of the butter leaked out during cooking (I've made these myself and it's difficult not to have this happen, but just pointing out). Their short ribs are extremely meaty. I also tried a porterhouse, which was solid. They have a decent selection but are missing anything at all exotic (frog legs, octopus, boar, alligator, etc.). I wish they had a bit more than what I can find at a regular grocery store. Also all of their meat is choice and no prime option. But the meat I have tried has been good quality and the people extremely friendly. read more

This is a great butcher shop. Quality of the meat is awesome. What is great is that they slice the boneless, skinless chicken for you in halves. They don't do that at Whole Foods! :P You go down the line and get everything that you need, you don't even have to worry about carrying everything, they send it down the line for you and it's there ready at checkout. They also carry boar's head products, for some reason it's hard to find out here in your average grocery store. They also carry an array of spices that are so much better quality than your typical McCormick brand. For example, their bay leaves are fresh, bright green where as everyone else had brown brittle bay leaves. BLEH!! Will definitely be back when I am in this part of town for Westmont's Farmers Market. read more

Casey's is an excellent deli/small grocery store. Service is outstanding. Casey's has complete butcher service, and sells good quality (and fresh) meat as well as some fish. The deli case has some hard to find meats and cheeses, such as Maytag Blue Cheese and Black Forest Ham. Again, the products in the deli case are fresh. The rest of the store has a few cases of grocery items, such as canned tomatoes and some dried spices. The products on the shelves are unremarkable, and offered for convenience, although the selection is much larger than that of a convenience store. In summary, Casey's is the best local source of meat. It has good fish and deli items too. read more

I should have posted this earlier. We've been going here for years. Casey's is one of the reasons that I may be able to get my wife to move out to the burbs. Everything is perfect in this Market. Very high customer service and great food. We've tried just about everything here and the Rib Eyes are the best in Chicago. Pricey, but well worth it. On the other end, the Queso Dip, is unbelievably good. We bring it to parties all the time and it's gone in no time. All the employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. The one time we had an incident with the quality of one of our purchases, the owner or manager acknowledged the issue and explained that they had similar issues with other orders. He handed back out purchase price no questions asked. This market is about 45 minutes away from my home and we go back a couple of times a month. read more
