I love the Oak Park location for their ribeye steak sandwiches. Great quality of steak meat is used there. THIS LOCATION HAS GRADE D RIBEYE STEAKS. I've been here twice in the last year and requested a steak sandwich, and I'm served sirloin or something that's similar to chop steak looks like to me! The quality of meat on the sandwich was very bad on my last 2 visits. The sandwich was freshly made. Just a very bad grade of steak was used. The service was pleasant. And they also have slot machines and their lobby area was clean. Finally tried the Grecian chicken dinner with rice and garlic bread. Omg, it is so good. You don't need to add anything to it. Great spot for in and out service! They offer fast service while still maintaining high quality eats. Burger stand ambiance with top quality food. I've ordered from here many times, and haven't found anything I didn't like. Some of my favorites are Philly cheesesteak and Philly chicken. Both are super yummy! Gyros, burgers, Italian beef, bbq beef, all delicious. Oh, don't forget the fries. I order mine well done and they nail it spot on every time. The pizza puffs RULE! Love the food here!! The fries are immaculate.. the Italian beefs dipped w/hot sweet peppers. Pizza puffs awesome! The fountain drinks are always fresh and strong.. not watered down. If u want healthier options they have that too I'd suggest the Turkey burger or grilled chicken salad w/feta cheese and pita bread. Food: 1/2 Greek Chicken With Rice Recommend: Highly! First, Customer Service was great from everyone! Secondly the food was amazing it was seasoned and cooked to perfection! It literally took under 5 minutes for the food to be ready, I was a little ready to be called so quick so once I opened my container the food was definitely well done and tasted fresh. The place was so clean and the chairs were so comfortable! I'll be returning again and again. Tip: If you want extra rice you have to request for it. I haven't reviewed this place? Hard to believe. I have eaten here for years. They do an excellent Italin Beef and Combo, Italian Beef with an Italian Sausage in case you don't know. They burgers are good. The tacos are better than you'd expect. They do breakfast sandwiches and maybe pancakes? If you are looking for nore if a mean they di a 1/2 Greek Chicken, I an always tempred to ask what the other half is. It's broiled and marinated and served with rice pilaf and garlic bread There,are salads and obviously Gyros. Will I think every Gyros in Chicago is produced by Kronos, but some are way better for some reason. The fries are always fresh. Everyone is really friendly and the place is always clean. Refills on pop on request. Lately I have been having the Mediterranean Chicken sandwhich. Broiled chickwn on a pita with cholped cucumber tomato onion and lettuce witb a dressing. read more

Last year while driving down Roosevelt Road I visited a place called Pete's in Oak Park. While I'm unsure if these two places are at all related, I've passed by a place called Pete's 2 in Broadview many times and only recently took the time to stop in and give the food a try. So while there is no "Artie the Strongest Man in the World" or "Mr. Tastee" in reviewing these two hot dog stands you're about to hear about "The Adventures of Pete and Pete". The first thing I noticed upon entering Pete's is the design of the inside. I get the sense that this place was at one point a Brown's Chicken and Pasta. After carefully considering my dining options I decided to go for a hot dog and fries combo, the question is how was it? The hot dog I received came on a soft poppy seed bun, there was a slice of tomato on top. A fairly thick pickle slice, nicely sliced onions, and a bit too much relish and mustard. The sausage used here was skinless and well heated, there were no sport peppers or celery salt on this dog. The first bite right away was tasty, but the hot dog was a bit on the soggy side, the juice from the thick pickle spear, excessive relish and mustard made it a bit on the wet side. The overall taste and combination of flavors was excellent. It also came with some french fries, these were thick and long steak style fries. They weren't too salty, and the potato paste inside was tasty. Overall I was pretty happy with these fries as they are a nice compliment to the hot dog. My overall opinion of Pete's 2 is that they make a good hot dog and fries. I think I like this place a wee bit more than the "Pete's" in Oak Park. Overall I'd say this is a well above average hot dog stand and am going to award them four stars. read more

Sometimes while traveling from the suburbs into Chicago, I rather take Roosevelt Rd all the way east. Reason being I have to stop in at Pete's #2 in the morning for breakfast. They open about 8:30AM and serve a mean plumped omelet any style! The owner will come out from the kitchen and chat with you too. Now that's cool! If it's later in the evening I will indulge on their homemade italian beef sandwiches. They cook their own beef fresh everyday! The owner told me he gets to work 3 hours early before they open just to season the beef! WOW! That's dedication and it shows on every bite of their sandwiches. Their everyday specials are a deal, and on display on a giant menuboard to order from. By the way they have a drive thru incase you are in a hurry. read more

Passed this place many times on way to work. Don't look like much and was on wrong side of road of way I was going. I took the chance today and decided to stop. Monday and Tuesday they have a gyro special and that was what I went with. Talking about special, this was on point. Huge helping and very tasty. There really isn't anything else to choose from around here. That is why I was so suprised that it was so good. They have 17 specials everyday. And they all come with fries and a soda. I had the number 2. Only because somebody else was paying and I didn't want to be a slob on their dime. A cheese burger, run throught the garden. It was fresh tasting and very good. Very good especially the Grecian half chicken and for 8 bucks! It's one of the best chicken dishes I've tried with the rice with lemon and gravy. Came here with my family, the cook/owner (I think) gave me a couple of cheese cake slices for my daughters when they probably heard them complaining that they're hungry :-) Oh and did I mention the rib tips? I've been eating out of this restaurant off and on for years since they first opened. Food always good with no major problems until recently. Their quality has went down slightly, but was still good and acceptable. Today, I had a taste for an Italian beef sandwich and didn't want Portillo's. So I went to Pete's. I ordered the Italian beef sandwich combo with the fries and pink lemonade. First strike: the pink lemonade tasted horrible! I was scared to drink it. Second strike: when I got home, the cheese was missing and my side of hot peppers were missing, and I paid for it. I went back up there so they can fix my sandwich. So I guessed the "manager" came out. He looked visibly dirty! Sweaty and dirty. He reminds me of Pigpen (the Peanuts character) that walked around in a cloud of dirt. He called himself being smart with me and showed me the bottom of my beef sandwich where the cheese was hidden...with his bare hands! Who does that? Who touches a customer's sandwich with their bare hands? Gross! Disgusting! He showed me where the cheese was, but I shouldn't have to go on a treasure hunt to look for it and my side of hot peppers were still missing! He said that he will make me another sandwich. I DID NOT SEE HIM WASH HIS HANDS. I DID NOT SEE HIM PUT ON GLOVES. So I asked the cashier: Is he wearing gloves? She said softly: NO. So I asked her again, and she said no. Strikes three, four and five! I demanded my money back. I got my $10.71 back. I will never eat from that restaurant ever again! They do not wash their hands or wear gloves! I got the chicken pita, it was okay, I requested tzatziki sauce on the side but it was kind of weird, I think it had dill in it. I've had it with cucumber but never with dill. It was okay but not great. The char on the chicken was good but the veggies were wet which made the pita soggy. read more

Pete's has added a breakfast menu. The omelets and hash browns are so light and fluffy, it's like eating clouds.

I enjoy the breakfast on the weekends with my wife. Great food and people. The omelette are great same goes for the French toast which I love. read more
