Sharing my pros and cons of my experience:
Pros:
* Owner Lee (which may not be his real name) is very enthusiastic about doing the project and promises professional results. Works quickly to fit in job in as quickly as possible, and completed the job of removing my palms efficiently in two days. Lee is overall friendly and easy to communicate with by texting and is on top of responding to communicate if any needs arises. He will resolve problems as best as he can and will apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused the customer.
Cons:
* Expensive- over $3000 and does not take credit card. They want you to write your check to a person (the person's name may be Lee's name, but not sure.) It wasn't to make the check out to the company.
* The real name of his company is not Ocean Tree Surgeon.... So this company appears to be under two names, which is confusing. He explained why there's two names.
* Lee left on a trip before the work on removal of palms were completed. No supervisor was on the job on the 2nd day when there were problems I wanted addressed.
* He was not available by phone because his wife retained his phone. I had to resolve the issues of the fence after he got back from his trip and I had got back from my trip which I had to leave the next day after the completion of the removal of the palms.
* Lee's wife did not respond to my text in a timely manner regarding the completed work and give me the time that I was to come and check out the work. Originally I was told to come at 4:00 pm, but because of traffic and I was not done with my work till 4:00, I wanted to make sure if I had to get there by 4:00. Lee's wife didn't show up till 5:30 or 6:00.
* Lee's wife, which Lee and his wife would not be upfront about her name, was late to the arrival to the completion of the job. I had to wait for up to 2 hours if I had come on time to my tenant's unit where I had the work completed.
* The fence bordering the yard was taken down to get in to do the work, and they didn't allow time to put it back up, or else I would have had to stay another hour or two making me wait up to maybe 7:00 or 8:00 pm. (His wife didn't arrive until close to 6:00 pm)
* When I shared the fence slats not being put back when I communicated to Lee after I came back from my trip, Lee delayed and put off several times when he was planning to come back to put the slats back on or get new slats. His delay was over a week or two. In the end, my association got the fence fixed.
* Lee employees his church members to do the work which I question their training and validity of their background in this type of work. When I came the second day for payment, I found that a woman and her young elementary age child had come on the job and the woman was helping the small crew. I questioned the liability if anything happened to the child since there was a hill behind this townhome. The child even freely roamed into my tenant's home whom she was okay about allowing the child in the home. Lee was not aware that this happened until I informed him. To me, this is unprofessional. Again, no supervisor to check out the quality of work or what was happening at the job site at the completion of work. The wife just came to pick up my check.
* Finally, no apology or compensation for the incompletion of the fence. read more
