Manager was very unprofessional. We were seated at a table and the a few minutes later he came by and told us that the tables were reserved. If I could give this place 0 Star's I definitely would. So Tuesday night my family and I decided to try Sizzlers. For 3 of us it was our first time being there. Anyhow the parking lot is mostly completely full by which I assume it's the employees because the place was basically empty. So; Anyhow We ordered our food then sat down took about 5-10min to be greeted by the server. Then she went and grabbed our drinks took her couple more minutes to do that. -The clam Chowder was cold and chunky they need to make that hotter. The onion rings weren't even Hot. So the manager Ryan drops off the steak. Then right after the server says is everything fine. We say Yes. Mind you I'm a person and I didn't devour my plate as soon as they dropped it off. So I then eat then proceed to take a bite of my steak which was Cold then the other steak on our table was cold as well but this one came a Med Rare still slightly bloody and very pink through out. (We both had ordered Medium) So we Let the Server know who then tells the manager "Ryan" he comes over and I let him know what happened; He looks at the Pink bloody steak and says "That's how we cook our medium here" even though IT CLEARLY SHOWS HOW MEDIUM IS WHEN YOU ORDER. "Hint OF PINK NOT BLOODY" Then I let him know the steaks were cold to Luke Warm. His response was did the server check on you right after I left the plates I said yes she did. He said and everything was fine then right? So do you think after sitting at your table for a while you think it would be cold; right? Not hot from grill to the table. Sorry right when you dropped it off the next step was the server and I eat like a human not like some animal that went wild. Then he continues to tell me I let it sit on my table for a while with his smart ass attitude. He needs to be retrained to deal with guest contact/ complaints. Then he looks at my younger sister entree and tells her "what about your chicken strips is that cold as well in a (sarcastic tone) you want that off your bill as well" like WTF!? She was eating her food just fine but felt so uncomfortable and awkward she let him take it. So then he refunds the 3 Entree (could of just replaced them) but he refunded them and so we had two salad bar options then for about 15+mom our server NEVER came back since we told her about the steaks but yet our drinks needed refills. So then I went to address the manager Ryan again about how bad service is and just because we had an issue with the steaks I'm still a paying guest. Since I had our drinks and Salad Bar options. Then he said our server was on break. Okay??? So do we get our own salad plates and refills? This place is mediocrely ran and under performing employees if management is unprofessional and disrespectful it's a reflection of the service the team and vise versa. Never again would I ever step foot into the place. They all need to be retrained. When I was promoted in my Restaurant I actually went to several training course on dealing with guest complaints and contacts and such. If Sizzler you don't have this you should invest in it and make that manager your first project. Brought my mother and grandmother to eat here. Since they finally finished their remodeling. Ordered the steak and Malibu for myself, steak wasn't that great, Malibu chicken was just a frozen breaded chicken patty which wasn't good at all. It was plain and no flavor. Grandmother had the breaded shrimp with baked potato, she wasn't to happy with her shrimp. They weren't crispy at all and her baked potato was ok she said. My mother had the grilled salmon, she said it was really salty and that her baked potato was just ok. The only thing that was good was the toast they bring you, their salad and ice cream. I was so excited that the local Sizzler had reopened. Took the family there on Tuesday and had the worst experience. Before the closure it was great food and service. Now the food (everything) was over cooked. What was once the best baked potato was hard on the outside and ok. I ordered a nice cut steak which was crispy and cooked "Well Done" when we all asked for "Medium". The server only came around a couple time and when asked for items they never returned. I had to go to the kitchen entrance to ask for items and also go to the front counter to tell them about the overcooked items. They told me the ovens had gone out and now they are back on the cooks are over cooking everything. Ok the only reason I'm not giving this Sizzler 5 stars is because of my recent visit. My family and I arrived right before closing. Like 5 minutes before closing. Which we called first and asked if that would be ok. The girl said as long as we arrived by 9:29 it was ok because they lock the door at 9:30. It was my sons birthday and thats what he wanted. So there we go. Well we get seated right next to the kitchen and I'm noticing some employees are giving us the stank eye. Then I realized they were all talking crap about us in the kitchen! Because we were last minute arrivals. And they're talking LOUD in that kitchen. So I tell our server when he comes to the table, "I know your colleagues are pissed at us for coming in last minute, I can hear them talking about us." And he said, "Wow you can hear that? I did think they were being really loud." He was very apologetic about his colleagues and he was very kind and attentive the rest of the meal. Wish I remembered his name to give him props. But everyone's food was great except I thought my steak was a little bland. Usually it's excellent. And the manager did came to see how our food was. I suppose I could've told him about his rude kitchen staff at that time but he probably already knows. And like I told our server, "Hey, thats what Yelp is for!" So food is great (usually) and so is the staff (unless you arrive at closing). Place is always clean. One of the nicer Sizzler's I've been too. So disappointed in this Sizzler, we just found a table after walking around looking at all these empty tables/booths that were not cleaned. My granddaughter spilled her drink, and a few servers passed by and did not offer to help, had to go back up to the front and ask the cashier if we could get some help cleaning up the spill. He cleaned up the soda and ice from the table. Then I'm at the salad bar, which none of the hot food items are labeled, salad dressings not labeled, soups did not have lids on them, everything was just a mess. I returned to the table to find a basket of bread, I never seen our server, until we were ready to leave and she laid some extra napkins on the table, which was something we needed from the beginning when we had the soda spill, no one brought any extra napkins or silverware, didn't come by to ask if we needed anything, it was just terrible service and the place was messy. The fact that the tables were not cleaned off right away, was the worst, they had so many workers practically tripping over each other and yet they couldn't clean tables. One guy came out with a container picked up a couple things from this table across from us and walked away, another guy came out walked over and looked at the table then walked away. It was a waste of money to go to that sizzler, salad bar is so overpriced for what they had to eat, mini corn dogs, corn fritters(I think), chips, guacamole, sour cream, watery salsa, cheese, 3 different soups and the salad, Kraft Mac n cheese. Then people are letting there little kids go get soda, which they had blue cups which means you didn't pay for the soda because you probably said you were having water when you ordered. The kids were touching the ice cream machine where the ice cream was coming out of, and putting their fingers in there mouths and touching it again. People don't let your little 3or 4 yr olds go get soda and ice cream by themselves, take them and teach them how to get the soda in the cup and when getting ice cream that you do not touch the dispenser. Sizzler staff should pay better attention to the cleanliness of your restaurant, you never know when the health department is going to come in and do a surprise check...Last night I don't think you would have passed. read more

After a few years of closure, my husband and I were so excited to see our local Sizzler in Montebello re open! We stopped by today, at approximately 4 p.m. and we treated ourselves to rib eye's and crispy fried shrimp. The sides were the classic baked potato and cheese toast. They never disappoint. Our steaks were so good, perfectly cooked to our taste. We also got the salad bar and I'm so glad we did, I recommend that you get it as well. It keeps you busy while you wait for your entree. Our cashier was warm and friendly; I don't remember her name though. Moises was our server. He was friendly and attentive and let us know right away that due to staff shortage, the wait time for our meal would be longer than usual. I appreciated the heads up on that and spent my time wisely, enjoying the salad bar. Some things to highlight about our visit; there's an ice cream station with toppings for those who purchase the salad bar, the soft drink fountain is self serve so you can refill your own drink without waiting on your server, everything is brand spanking new, and now there are a few TVs around the restaurant. I was so looking forward to their reopening. But this is not the Sizzler's that I remembered two years ago. Now their salad bar did away with the specialty kale mix salad. This location is located on Beverly and the only bad thing about the spot is the parking. If you get there right at lunch (12) then expect to park on the street which you will also have to pay attention to the street sweeper days. Once you get in the service is fast and friendly. They may have skimped on the parking but they made up in seating space. We found a seat no problem and our drinks were brought out right away. Next came out the famous bread. I've been to sizzlers over the years and sadly the bread has lost its yumminess but I have to say this location got it going on. I ordered the salmon and it was cooked just the way I liked it. This location had been closed for a few years due to a kitchen fire and the building was pretty much left for dead. I seriously thought this place would just be demolished but then one day while driving by I noticed it being remodeled and then later signs saying they would be reopening and I have to say they did a good job. They have televisions all over the walls with a veriety of programs playing. We went on one of the first days of operation and it was getting crowded fast. You walk to the register and place your order with the nice people at the front and they even carry your platters with the drinks, plates for the salad bar, napkins, and silverware. The waitress was very kind and really on her A game as well as the other waitresses I noticed. The manager was walking around greeting people and talking with customers. I ordered the 6 oz. steak meal with fries and it was pretty good and cooked the way I wanted it. Truely a good meal as we did not have to wait long for the food or to be seated. My go place to enjoy a simple steak, salad, or some great cheese bread. In fact the steak and lobster or ribeye comes in less than 30 and the servers are attentive all the times I have been here. I also like the fact that this location is clean, newer, and usually no wait. In fact I really have never waited when I have gone here.
