    12 Piece Chicken Family Special

Been passing by this location many many years. Born and raised in Montebello . I can't remember eating this food as a kid decided to stop by from a food creator from IG and best decision I have made. The chicken is perfect seasoning crunchy-ist and cooked from perfection the coleslaw very delicious rolls. Also delicious. The service was also amazing. Please stop by and support this business. They also have lunch specials. Many next Friday I will stop and get the fish and chips which is only $10 where could you paid that for dinner. You will not regret coming to this restaurant.

Broaster Kitchen is a nice fried chicken casual dining restaurant located along W. Beverly Blvd. It shares a small parking lot with the neighboring liquor store among other businesses. The space is moderate, tables and chairs lined along the right side of the restaurant. Framed pictures all along the wall. Most of the front space is the counter and cake display (empty at the time I visited). I came for dinner and placed a pick up order. I ordered the 10 & 10 which included 10 mixed pieces of their fried chicken with 10 pieces of broasted potatoes. I also ordered two slices of their cheesecake which at the time was all they had left. The chicken was great, nice and crispy skin with not too much greasiness. It had a nice basic seasoning to it, and was not extremely salty like fast food fried chicken can be sometimes. The meat was juicy and had good salt to it too. I'm not sure how they marinate or brine, but it seems very simple and it works. The broasted potatoes were there large wedges that had been perfectly roasted. I love the skin on potatoes giving a nice texture. Because it was a pick up order the potatoes started to steam in the to go box, so I threw it in my toaster to crisp the skin up. I wish the potatoes were seasoned, I think they are purely roasted so it was basically eating a roasted potatoes which it wasn't bad. I just had to add some of my own preferential seasoning. If you're looking for a no salt option then eating them as is will suit you well. This place touts their homemade pies, however the display in front was empty and upon speaking to the lady at the counter it seems they start baking their pies on Wednesday and sell them through the week into the weekend and whatever is left is available. This includes the mini pies. They had 2 slices of cheesecake left which I took instead. For $4 a slice it seemed a little over priced for how small the slices were (see picture). The mini pies are priced the same so I would like to come back and see for comparison. Flavor was great though, nice compact graham cracker crust, that was buttery and packed together well. The cheesecake base was slightly tangy and sweet, a nicely executed cheesecake. Overall a decent place for fried chicken. If you're looking to support local businesses give this place a try!

Chicken was dry. The side portion that would've been fries but changed to mashed potatoes was just about the same size as the dressing. Not impressed.

I enjoy eating fried chicken very much depends who prepare it and cook the chicken pieces right in a fryer or an old fashion black skillet the best way to cook the chicken right. We have been to many chicken joints from different places in the states and some places in different countries. We decided to come to the Broaster Kitchen this my first time going here and try the fried chicken my wife been there many times. We step then we look at the menu display and decided what to order then my wife order the fish n chips and I order the three pieces mixed meal it comes w. ith fries, roll and Broaster potatoe. Each order is made to order fresh and hot when you receive it. It took about 20 minutes to cook the chicken right then they brought the food it looks good. I took a bite of it it was hot from the fryer but it was juicy and very crispy whe I took a bite. Each pieces was cook perfect each piece have that crispy crunch.. I really enjoy the chicken and Broaster potatoes were very good they two pieces and come with fries and roll. My wife did enjoy her fish n ship but it lacking lemon and the malt vinegar that a traditional condiments. The chicken was really good be next time I need to order five pieces.

Me and my Aunt came here for lunch time and order the 10 piece lunch special wings. My sides were coleslaw and potato wedges. The chicken wings were fresh and crispy and love every bite. Me and my Aunt enjoy our meal and had a good experience. Also I took home the banana pudding pie (small) and it was delicious. Hope this helps, Enjoy!!

    The counter. Friendly service.

Great call, the broth was delightful and well balanced with just the right amount of spice. We went on a Saturday night and the vibe was a pleasant surprise. Live DJ spinning R&B and throwbacks, fun energetic atmosphere, and drinks that were surprisingly affordable compared to a few cities over in Pasadena. Glad we gave it another shot. If you have a minute, I'd like to share a story:…read more I've been meaning to try this place for years, ever since I read their opening in the LA Times. In the article, they mentioned that they had a sandwhich in homage to Pok Pok, a legendary Thai place in Portland that was famous for their fish sauce chicken wings. Unfortunately, this sandwhich was only offered on the weekday lunch menu, which stymied my efforts to try it. In my mind, what I was expecting was a piece of fried chicken coated in the same sauce that Pok Pok was known for, turned into sandwhich form. The "Bring back pok pok" is not that. Which was a disappointment for all of 10 seconds. While the sandwhich was not what I was expecting, it was still excellent on its own merits. It's a fried chicken sandwhich but instead of lettuce and tomatoes, they've used some sort of dried pepper spread, thai basil (I think) and jalopenos). It reminded me more of a bahn mi. It's a flavor profile that works well. I tried a piece of my friends fried catfish, and it was similarly good. The catish was flaky without being dry, and not only was the breading well seasoned, but it was still crispy at the end of the meal. The only thing a little underwhelming was the cornbread. It wasn't bad, but it didn't feel like it did anything noteworthy, and ours could have used a bit more butter (or maybe some more salt). Our server was great, though it was easy for him since we were the only customers for a long while! Still he was easy to talk to and I appreciated how he kept stopping by to fill up our water (they use tiny glasses). The inside has nice "upscale casual" vibes. If I worked in downtown, I could see myself coming here after work. Overall, a pleasant surprise.

Overall, it was a solid experience with a few standout items that will have me thinking about them long after the meal. First, let's talk about the service because it was AMAZING. Our server was kind, patient, attentive, and took the time to give us recommendations from the menu. Great customer service always makes a difference, and they definitely set the tone for a pleasant dining experience. For my meal, I ordered the catfish with mac and cheese, cabbage, and hush puppies. My friend went with the fried chicken, greens, red beans and rice, and cornbread. Now for the food review... The undisputed star of the show was the cabbage. Baby, that cabbage was GOOD! Perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and cooked just right. If you're ordering sides, don't skip it. The catfish was pretty good too. One thing I appreciated was that I didn't have to ask them to "fry it hard"--it came out with a nice texture and flavor right from the kitchen. My friend's fried chicken was tasty, and I especially appreciated the flaky, crispy crust. It had a satisfying crunch without being overly greasy. The mac and cheese, unfortunately, was a little mediocre for me. Not bad, but not particularly memorable. The greens were also just okay, and I could have done without the red beans and rice. One thing that definitely deserves a shoutout: they have bottomless mimosas! That alone makes this a great brunch or weekend spot. As for parking, there is a parking lot, which is always a plus. Just keep in mind that spaces are limited, and the restaurant is a little tucked away "in the cut," so keep your eyes peeled when you're looking for it. Overall, the excellent service, flavorful catfish, crispy chicken, bottomless mimosas, and that unforgettable cabbage made for a worthwhile visit. I'd definitely come back--and yes, I'd order that cabbage again without hesitation!
