    12 Piece Chicken Family Special

Been passing by this location many many years. Born and raised in Montebello . I can't remember eating this food as a kid decided to stop by from a food creator from IG and best decision I have made. The chicken is perfect seasoning crunchy-ist and cooked from perfection the coleslaw very delicious rolls. Also delicious. The service was also amazing. Please stop by and support this business. They also have lunch specials. Many next Friday I will stop and get the fish and chips which is only $10 where could you paid that for dinner. You will not regret coming to this restaurant.

Broaster Kitchen is a nice fried chicken casual dining restaurant located along W. Beverly Blvd. It shares a small parking lot with the neighboring liquor store among other businesses. The space is moderate, tables and chairs lined along the right side of the restaurant. Framed pictures all along the wall. Most of the front space is the counter and cake display (empty at the time I visited). I came for dinner and placed a pick up order. I ordered the 10 & 10 which included 10 mixed pieces of their fried chicken with 10 pieces of broasted potatoes. I also ordered two slices of their cheesecake which at the time was all they had left. The chicken was great, nice and crispy skin with not too much greasiness. It had a nice basic seasoning to it, and was not extremely salty like fast food fried chicken can be sometimes. The meat was juicy and had good salt to it too. I'm not sure how they marinate or brine, but it seems very simple and it works. The broasted potatoes were there large wedges that had been perfectly roasted. I love the skin on potatoes giving a nice texture. Because it was a pick up order the potatoes started to steam in the to go box, so I threw it in my toaster to crisp the skin up. I wish the potatoes were seasoned, I think they are purely roasted so it was basically eating a roasted potatoes which it wasn't bad. I just had to add some of my own preferential seasoning. If you're looking for a no salt option then eating them as is will suit you well. This place touts their homemade pies, however the display in front was empty and upon speaking to the lady at the counter it seems they start baking their pies on Wednesday and sell them through the week into the weekend and whatever is left is available. This includes the mini pies. They had 2 slices of cheesecake left which I took instead. For $4 a slice it seemed a little over priced for how small the slices were (see picture). The mini pies are priced the same so I would like to come back and see for comparison. Flavor was great though, nice compact graham cracker crust, that was buttery and packed together well. The cheesecake base was slightly tangy and sweet, a nicely executed cheesecake. Overall a decent place for fried chicken. If you're looking to support local businesses give this place a try!

Chicken was dry. The side portion that would've been fries but changed to mashed potatoes was just about the same size as the dressing. Not impressed.

I enjoy eating fried chicken very much depends who prepare it and cook the chicken pieces right in a fryer or an old fashion black skillet the best way to cook the chicken right. We have been to many chicken joints from different places in the states and some places in different countries. We decided to come to the Broaster Kitchen this my first time going here and try the fried chicken my wife been there many times. We step then we look at the menu display and decided what to order then my wife order the fish n chips and I order the three pieces mixed meal it comes w. ith fries, roll and Broaster potatoe. Each order is made to order fresh and hot when you receive it. It took about 20 minutes to cook the chicken right then they brought the food it looks good. I took a bite of it it was hot from the fryer but it was juicy and very crispy whe I took a bite. Each pieces was cook perfect each piece have that crispy crunch.. I really enjoy the chicken and Broaster potatoes were very good they two pieces and come with fries and roll. My wife did enjoy her fish n ship but it lacking lemon and the malt vinegar that a traditional condiments. The chicken was really good be next time I need to order five pieces.

Me and my Aunt came here for lunch time and order the 10 piece lunch special wings. My sides were coleslaw and potato wedges. The chicken wings were fresh and crispy and love every bite. Me and my Aunt enjoy our meal and had a good experience. Also I took home the banana pudding pie (small) and it was delicious. Hope this helps, Enjoy!!

    The counter. Friendly service.

Chicken is always tasty, moist and crispy. Sides are okay but you go there for the chicken.

An incredible deal and delicious chicken that is crispy without being heavily fried. It's a rare combination and definitely worth it.

I came during lunch time and it was packed. The host was so sweet and handed us some menus to look…read moreover while we waited for our entire party to arrive. Once we were ready she had our table already prepared. We have to order inside first before you can be seated. Once seated our food came out not too long after. Everything looked and tasted delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles verde, short rib omelette, tropical pancakes (seasonal), and the mango curd french toast (seasonal). The chilaquiles verde was savory and tangy. It wasn't soggy at all and definitely one of my favorite dishes. The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. I only tried a piece of it without the syrup which I think was a mistake because the kumquat syrup was my friend's favorite. I definitely need to try it again with the syrup. Best for last, mango curd French toast was my favorite! I fell in love with sweetness and tanginess of the mango curd. The French toast was soft and you can taste the butter. I wish it was a main menu item. I'll definitely be sad to see it go. They have lots of seating inside and outside.

Dining While Black…read more Location- Great setup, half indoor & outdoor. I was curious about the level of accessibility and clearer directions on where to stand when the line passes the framing of the restaurant. But Great Downey location! Please contact me for consultation services. Service/Ambiance/Environment: The service is where my issue lies. I did appreciate that as we were waiting in line to enter, we were given menus to assist in deciding what we wanted before we reached the inside. The cashiers were both super nice and even offered a taste of the Rose' slushy which was phenomenal. When ordering at the register, the sweet service was continued and we chose where to sit. It was bright and busy inside and we sat right in front of the expo station. I was truly enjoying the environment and it had me reminiscing of my brunch days in New York City. My guest and I were chatting and enjoying our Mimosa's and then my guests food arrives first. Not that it matters but in service certain things do and the female presenting person SHOULD always receive their food first. That was a surprise to me but I didn't read into as I expected my dish to arrive right behind. It did not. My guest and I continued to chat and sip until 20 mins later, as I'm watching dishes leave the expo station, did I say "where is my food?" The young server at the expo turned and rolled their eyes and then finally gave me my food. This was a buzz kill. I only went down a rabbit hole about it until I noticed I was the only Black person present. First, why would it ever been ok to not have dishes arriving to tables separately without saying "ma'am we're a little behind.." or to my guest "do you mind if we hold your dish a bit so we can make sure the food arrives together?" Being a previous server in high pace restaurants, communication, apologies, and ensuring perfect service is the goal. Poached is not a store front or even a little diner type of place. It's a casual, upbeat, bright breakfast/brunch spot. And yes, on busy days things happen but to not offer a reason, or apology, and giving the customer attitude is unacceptable. Food: The description of the food is well written. The prices are reasonable. I ordered the short rib omelette with whole grain toast and house potatoes. When I Finally received my food it looked great and I was eager to dig in. A first bite of the omelette I was sadly underwhelmed. The seasoning left much to be desired and it seamed to be more of a birria short rib flavor and I thought I chose the dish based on being excited about the combination of meat and cheese (which was barely there). I enjoyed the bread and potatoes more than the omelette. Go again score 1-5: 2 I really think this restaurant and it's operation needs some massaging, the cooks need to be trained, and a REAL chef needs to help improve the quality and taste of the food.

It also comes with a wine bottle which is fabulous ! I asked for their rec from our waiter Louis and he said their Merlot and it was so yummy! Soo thank you (: So it goes like this, New York for two deal for $75.99 and the Rib Eye deal for $78.99 and you cook it yourself and their grill with all the seasonings and fix ins. I've been there two times with my boyfriend and both times we made our steak perfect. They also make their drinks ( I ordered a tequila soda ) pretty strong I might say. They have like 3 or 4 bartenders available so they were pretty attentive. Waiters were also attentive. We went around 7:30pm on a Saturday night. A crowd of adults from all ages were singing karaoke. It was good vibes, but it looks like it gets busy and packed. There is back parking, but if you do not know how to back up and park then you are basically screwed on a busy night so be prepared. So past couple times were well worth the price of a yummy do it yourself steak meal and some litty drinks. (:

A complete dinner is available, served with a large baked potato, 2 pieces of garlic toast and little salad bar. I found the drinks to be well priced and the service was excellent.
