Zero stars today! Lifelong customer! Well over 50 years and today was the worst service! Paid with my credit card and was advised that it would be 20 minutes. After 30 minutes I asked for my order, confusing conversation about the cook not getting the ticket took place. Waited a few more minutes as we had a commitment to make. When I asked for a refund the cashier advised that it would take 2 days. The entire staff from the cashier to cook had unprofessional customer service skills. I asked to speak to the owners and a phone call was made. Unfortunately, left with no food, no refund, and had to take an Uber home to ensure that my family made the commitment. Besides the friendly service and great food I was privileged to see an elderly couple walk in and take all the recyclables from the trash can and were greeted with an awesome hello from the lady up front. My coworker and I got there and paid for our order. I asked for some ketchup and honey before handing over my CC and i also asked the cashier to charge me for additional ranch and BBQ and she said not to worry about it. An establishment that does not charge extra for these requests are true M.V.P's. Our order was ready about 10 minutes later. We ask the cashier if the ranch and BBQ was in there. The cook overhears me asking and says " got 'em, they are in the boxes boss". Him saying those exact words in his exact tone made me trust him 100% and I felt that I did not have to check our food. I agree with what some of the previous reviews have mentioned, that there is a wait, but at least I know my chicken is fresh. It comes with a side of potatoes but I decided to get the corn instead. I love supporting small businesses so I was excited to try this place. We ordered the fried chicken combo and the tenders combo. 1. Fried chicken combo - good flavor, moist and crispy chicken, big potato wedges. A solid deal! Roll was dry though. 2. Fried tenders combo - literally the worst chicken tenders I have ever had in my life. They were tough to chew on and left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth so I suspect that the tenders are not made fresh (they were probably frozen) and that the oil does not get changed often. Roll was heckin' dry. This was not worth it, I can't believe I wasted my lunch on bad fried chicken. If you go here get the fried chicken or the wings, avoid the tenders. This spot is 8 minutes away from my work place and I order the leg lunch via online. The chicken is crispy and well seasoned. Best tip is you dip the chicken into ranch and ketchup sauce. The sauce is creamy and sweet. The potato wedges are okay there isn't much flavor, a bit oily. The owner is nice and made sure I had enough condiments and napkins. If I only got the chicken it would be 5 stars easy. This is the best fried chicken I've had in a long time. Whatever they use in their secret broaster oven, it works. The chicken is crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right. It's not too salty and it's not dried out at all. There's not any spot where the skin was soggy. I can't even describe it anymore other than to say, just get one you'll love it. The ribs on the other hand, just skip. It's boiled... boiled... big clumps of fat and connective tissue, boiled. If it was baked or broiled it would've rendered some of the fat and made the connective tissue more pliable and easy to chew. But no... boiled ribs. Didn't try the pies this time, or the potato wedges or chicken fingers. The cashier was friendly. The kid in the kitchen didn't look too excited to be working in there. The father was concentrating on his work. The food takes time but that's because they said they don't put the chicken in the broaster until you order it so I guess that's what makes it so crunchy and fresh. Come here for the chicken. Look I didn't even know how to eat a drumstick before I went to this place. Been trying my whole life. Still ended up w a stick full of chicken. I learned today. That thing was gone, nothing left except bone lol.... that chicken is bomb as hell n I don't even know what else to say about that. End of story. The broasted potatoes were a pretty big chunk of potato, I added a lil salt and ketchup and voila they were yummy towards the center. Coleslaw was awesome! It has been about 25 years since the last time I have been here (Sunday December 17th). The chicken tasted good (just smaller chickens these days). Brought back memories! So I bought a whole banana cream pie to take back home to complete the memories.... Big mistake, the PIE must have been sitting in the case for a very long time (many days) as the whip cream top was hard and not eatable. I had to scrape it off the top and just eat the banana cream filling. When eating the filling the banana's were not sliced, only broken in half inside.
