Man!!!! I tell you I love a good salad and soup bar and this location was the perfect place!!!! Super fan of Sizzlers and a good one that is still open is like a gem to find!!! They keep a clean restaurant. Friendly service. Salad bar is kept cool, tidy and full. The hot bar stays a great temperature and the soups are tasty!! Love that they have a bit of everything if you can't enjoy the salad bar there is a variety of other meal options to try. Steak combos are great!!!

If there's a restaurant that is NOT on the U.S. continental East Coast, its Sizzler! I remember seeing one in Orlando a very long time ago, but no more. The closest Sizzler location is in Puerto Rico from Florida. My partner and I were visiting his uncle near this location and wanted to have a good lunch with him. I've heard they remodeled this location and it looks good! You order at the counter first and the menus are on the wall. Lots of great options for steak, shrimp, unlimited salad bar, pasta, burgers, ribs, and more. The staff and servers were welcoming and friendly as well. I ordered the Steak (medium-rare) & Unlimited Crispy Shrimp with fries. My partner had the unlimited salad bar and uncle had Steak & Shrimp Scampi Fettuccine with unlimited salad bar option. My steak was cooked nicely as medium-rare and easy to cut and eat. The crispy shrimps were like "popcorn" shrimps a little bigger than a quarter size. The salad bar looked clean and amazing and could see both my partner and uncle enjoyed creating their salad mountain. Also, they had a taco bar, pasta bar and dessert bar (soft-served ice cream, toppings and brownies). Overall, completely satisfied with our meals and did not disappoint for us. Very jealous that uncle lives less than a mile from this Sizzler and wished we had them back in Florida. Definitely going to visit again next time for more items!

On June 5, 2026, my wife, daughter, mother-in-law, and I visited the Sizzler restaurant in Merced, California, for what we expected would be a pleasant family dinner. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the unprofessional conduct of Manager Leah, leaving us feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and singled out in front of other customers. When we arrived, the young employee who took our order was polite, helpful, and professional. My mother-in-law treated the family to dinner, while I separately purchased a salad bar on a different transaction. When completing the purchase, I was asked if I wanted my receipt and declined, as I did not anticipate needing it for a simple salad bar purchase. After we were seated, my wife went to get her salad. At that point, Manager Leah approached our table and demanded to see proof of purchase for the salad bar, stating that her server, Mya, had informed her of something concerning our order. Her approach was abrupt, accusatory, and inappropriate. We immediately explained that the salad bar had been purchased and suggested she verify the transaction with the employee who had rung up the order. Despite being given multiple opportunities to confirm the purchase with her staff, Leah continued to question us. I ultimately had to leave my table, locate the employee who processed the transaction, and bring her over to confirm that the salad bar had indeed been purchased. Being publicly questioned and treated as though we were attempting to steal was humiliating and made our entire family uncomfortable, especially as other customers watched the interaction unfold. When we asked Leah why she chose to confront us before verifying the facts with her staff, she responded that "everyone does it." This explanation was unacceptable. We are not "everyone," and we did not observe her approaching other customers who were using the salad bar. We then asked how she intended to address the embarrassment and discomfort caused by the situation. Her response was simply that she was sorry and that there was nothing else she could do. Afterward, she retreated to the back of the restaurant and did not make any further effort to resolve the matter. Another employee, Ashley, provided us with the corporate contact information after we requested it. Due to the humiliation we experienced, we asked that our meals be boxed up because we no longer felt comfortable remaining in the restaurant. What makes this situation particularly troubling is the feeling that we were unfairly singled out. While we were being publicly questioned over a paid salad bar, we observed other situations in the restaurant that did not appear to receive the same level of scrutiny. This left us questioning why our family was treated differently. No customer should leave a restaurant wondering whether they were targeted because of their appearance, race, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. We believe this matter deserves serious attention from Sizzler's management and corporate leadership. Customers should be treated with dignity and respect, and managers should verify facts before publicly accusing paying guests of wrongdoing. We hope Sizzler takes this complaint seriously, provides additional training to its management staff, and ensures that no other family experiences the embarrassment and humiliation that we endured.

It's been at least ten years since I've been in and I thought I'd try it out again after the renovation. Doesn't really look much different than what I remember. Expensive! Steak was $7 more here than at Texas Roadhouse for the same cut and size. One dinner, two salad bars, 3 drinks was $80! Here's the crazy part. We were standing looking at the menu prices right before getting to the register and the prices changed before our very eyes! They went up! I asked the girl at the counter if I was seeing things and she said no, they sometimes change. Wait staff was good but the total tab + tip was insane. I went to Sizzlers after work with my family and it was wonderful everyone was so welcoming and so nice, our server Genesis was wonderful so full of joy and so great at her job, her beautiful smile warmed all our hearts and made a difference while we were dining there. This is NOT your run-of-the-mill Sizzler somehow the General Manager (can't remember his name Sir I apologize) has this restaurant running at a superb level! The staff is professional and welcoming. The food is the BEST Sizzler food I have ever had. This is the Sunday after church spot and I appreciate the warmth of the restaurant. What makes Sunday after church so awesome is AMBER she is an absolute SUPERSTAR of a waitress, she is kind never too busy to attend to your requests and does it with a great attitude! I must say that I came to this restaurant when Jose was here on assignment and he is a great asset to the company. He worked at this store away from home for about 6-8 weeks! read more

My mom and I visited this establishment and were served by Genesis, who was a very attentive, kind lady that made the delicious experience comfortable and memorable. Fisherman's platter, prime rib burger, and salad bar were all satisfying, not to mention all the cheese toast you can ask for, and the ice cream bar to top things off with purchase of the salad bar. read more

You know....we have eaten here before and loved it. Tonight, it feels like it was a flop. There was a bad flavor that I noticed with the bacon. Naturally, being a bacon lover I put it on my salad (so excited because usually their salad bar is great) and it was ordered on my loaded potatoes. It was a bummer not to be able to enjoy the flavor of the foods. I ordered my loaded potatoes without sour cream and they served it with sour cream, fortunately the server was quick to help me get them replaced. For 3 of us with salad bars & soda it was $135. For appetizers, we ordered: Steamed bbq pork buns Popcorn chicken For combination plates, we ordered: #H fried shrimp, pork fried rice, and Mongolian beef over noodles #D orange chicken, pork fried rice, and beef and broccoli over noodles The food was decent. I liked the fried shrimp and orange chicken. Boyfriend liked the Mongolian beef and beef and broccoli. We both also liked the popcorn chicken. The steamed bun was pretty generic. Lots of food and more than enough for 2 people. Definitely prefer and recommend this over getting Panda Express. Staff was friendly. The older gentleman with glasses was really nice. First things first, its a 1 completely due to service. I can tolerate a lot but once service is bad, there's a spotlight on all other crap. Ally, at the counter, thought it was a good idea to tell my husband & I to wait by an empty register for someone that was actually busy taking drinks to a customer. So, even though, we were at Ally's register waiting to place an order, she ushered us to the empty register and serviced the family behind us. It was indeed a bad vibe. The family behind us spoke up asking if we ordered. Ally says, "oh no, the other girl will take care of them" and proceeded to take their order. The younger lady looked at me like WTH?! I was instantly livid and felt the blow of racism slap my face. Clearly, so did the family behind us. The older lady of the family even apologized at the salad bar, stating her embarassment for Ally's actions. We choose a table and the server makes her way over after almost 20mins and introduces herself. Priscilla: the most inattentive server we have ever encountered. By this time, we were in need of plates. It took her 10 more minutes to bring those. I asked for napkins. She took so long to attend to us I used the bread basket to get chicken wings from the buffet. Long story short, I had to walk to the register area to request plates. She passes me twice and never brought napkins. I had to go to the register area again and request napkins. At this point, Im doing her job. Yet, she kept asking if we're ok after my trips up to the register...I'm thiniking, "GIRL BYE"! I said, "Im fine. I went and got everything I needed". She says, "Im sorry". (Ya think!?) We were in this area in August and the service was great. The food was good, too. Today, the food was not good. Tri-tip soup was a bit chewy, bland pasta and marinara sauce, dried taco meat, half-crunchy corn tortillas(as if they sat out too long) and extremely overcooked chicken wings. My swirl icecream was all chocolate...lol! The bread pudding and peach cobbler looked like it would choke you out due to it's dryness. The salad bar was awesome. The service at the counter from Ally and on the floor from Priscilla warranted this review and absolutely no tip. We did not complain to the manager but he was made aware, in my presence, of Priscilla's bad service by the young lady that took our order at the counter because she was not understanding why I keep coming to the counter to request items Priscilla should be giving us. So, she told the manager. This was useless. I had to go up to the counter for refills. He was at the counter and said he'll bring it out. Instead, he had Priscilla bring the drinks to the table. He didnt bother to even apologize for Priscilla's service. Im looking forward to writing corporate AND we won't be back to Sizzler in Merced, CA. read more

The Sizzler in Merced is truly something else. Let's begin with the manager Robyn. She sexually harasses the male cooks by making lewd comments and making reference as to how "she likes", making innuendos and not speaking of food - and had to be told by management to straighten up. In regards to Human Resources, this does not exist, legally anyway. The manager has been overheard speaking of employees and their personal issues; relays all information that should be considered confidential to staff; favoritism runs rampant in the workplace and she has a BAD attitude toward customers, has been witnessed by many,staff and in telephone transactions. Some staff need their jobs to get through school and this is their life - some are pushed to the limit of just leaving and regretting their whole experience in working at this Sizzler. Human Resources at headquarters has been involved - let's see if there is change. Unfortunately, it is the ONLY place that is considered a restaurant in Merced. Salad bar is not fresh. When inspected, there was mold and mildew under the items. read more

I was very happy with the food and service at this Sizzler location. I am from Southern California and all of the Sizzlers I visit feel run down, have bad service, are dirty, have empty buffets, and the food is low quality. The Sizzlers in Southern California have gone downhill over the past 10 years unfortunately. I was pleasantly surprised with this Sizzler location in Merced. It was the feeling of Sizzler from the early 2000s. Great service, clean environment, full buffet, great food, and amazing service. This Sizzler even had Coke products! Most Sizzlers have Pepsi. This Merced Sizzler should be the model of how all Sizzlers are run. I want this management brought down to the Southern California locations. My server was Priscilla and she was so helpful that I was never able to completely finish my drink. She made sure I always had a drink and everything I needed throughout my time there. 5 stars for Priscilla! I highly recommend this location. read more

For my dad's birthday last weekend, we came to Sizzler in Merced and we hit the jackpot by being seated in Yasmeen's section! From the beginning she was great! Yasmeen was so sweet, she stayed on top of everything and checked back in on us to see how we were doing! She was also quite informed on the menu & selection of choices to choose from. But what I just love was how Yasmeen went a little further to create something special for my father's birthday. Her and other staff sang "Happy Birthday" and soon the whole restaurant was joining in, my dad's face glowing with pride. This is a moment we will always remember. The food is, as always, but it was the first-rate service provided by Yasmeen and her colleagues throughout our evening that made for a memorable visit. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly demeanor by the hostess. My date and I went their on Valentine day, WOW this place was packed, it took us about 20 minutes to get to the counter to order, but as we got to the order taker she was so nice, i asked a few questions and she had all the answers, the managers were flowing around the restaurant trying to find open tables for people, one manager came to me and asked if i preferred a table or booth, i asked for booth, he advised me that there cleaning one off and it will be ready in just a minute, then apologized about the wait. the wait staff was great, the Malibu chicken thing was awesome thats why the girl at counter said it was a Sizzler favorite, i have to say that as busy as they were i cant believe that we got that good of service from everyone, and how clean the place looked. read more

An exceptional experience overall. We went there to celebrate a retirement. The space was very empty when we arrived and it was very comfortable and relaxing of an atmosphere overall. The food was exceptionally well tasting overall. Upon eating, the manager checked in with us who cooked the food to ensure that quality was up to standard and that we were content with our meal. the service was out of this world. the servers are wonderful especially Destiny and Silvia. food was perfect (my compliments to the chef) managers were friendly and talkative, they engaged with my family and we had a wonderful conversation. I dont see how they get any negative reviews, every time i come here they are on point. and last but not least, ive never seen a harder working dish crew, they always get left out of these reviews, but the tables were bussed the dishes were spotless, and they had a smile the whole time. On 8/8/2023 Arrived just as they where opening the door. Had to wait a few minutes before someone was able to check me in. She was not happy that I arrived at 11A made sure I understood! Keep calling a persons name. Finally took my money. When to a booth close to the salad bar. Received my soup bowl went up for Broccoli soup COLD. Our family of 5 had an amazing time at sizzler. The salad bar is one of our favorite things to get with our meals. So glad that they brought back the chicken wings. Our server Jennifer was so AMAZING, she was very friendly and she always check up on us. Jennifer treated us with respect and kindness which is very rare to find. We had a mishap with on of the steaks but Jennifer took quick action and she was able to get my husband the right steak. I'm seriously blown away with how excellent my dinner was! I never would've imagined that sizzler would have such great quality lobster, but I'm telling you it was outstanding. I've spent twice the money on a similar meal and didn't walk away nearly as satisfied as I am now.. my partner got a steak and had the same reaction. Not to mention, the service was outstanding! Me and my husband come here every other day when I don't feel like cooking, overall, I love the waiters. They are all so sweet and so attentive. We were recently there and my server. We took our dad for his 82nd birthday to the renovated Sizzler in Merced on Saturday and had the best experience! Elexues was the sweet and professional waitress who helped us at our table. She was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and then some. She even arranged for the staff to sing happy birthday to him and he loved it. So, I moved to the Zuppa Toscano soup. The broth was white colored, flavorless water, big slices of potato, and the roughest kale pieces ever. Yall should have just left it out or raw. Who???? Can jack-up a breadstick??? The breadsticks were BLONDE, FLAVORLESS, DRY, BRICKS. My husband ordered the seafood pasta. What a joke. It had small marble sized scallops and a few shrimps; but the kicker was the MUSHY OVERCOOKED broccoli. He couldn't eat it either and he abandoned the whole eating activity. He didn't even open the soup. I just threw everything into the trash; there was no saving that meal. This question is for general management Marci Anaya. Do you monitor what's happening in the kitchen? Do you see the food before it's packaged and sent out to the consumer? Do you care if we actually get our money's worth? Do you really understand how much pasta, shrimp, veggies, and soup with breadsticks I could have actually bought with $75.00??? I could have invited over 10 people and fed each one until they were full. This is a disgrace. I WILL NOT EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER return. I don't care who's inviting me, my answer is NO! We ordered queso and it was old, clumpy. Didnt wanna bother the waiter who never asked. My steak was supposed to be medium well. It was burnt and overcooked. Not anything to go back for.
