I stopped on the way home from work and had dinner. Got the Steak and 6 pc Jumbo Fried Shrimp. It was the best that I have ever had here. The steaks are so much better now since they offer New York and Rib Eye. They are thicker, juicy, tender and flavorful. They must have changed vendors. The difference is very noticeable. Went here with my wife and mother in law because she wanted a steak dinner. I had had bad experiences before at Sizzler but went anyway as to not be a wiener boy. I got a burger thinking "How bad could a burger be?". Famous last words No but really the burger wasn't great, patty was burnt. I have no idea how you burn a burger besides literally leaving the kitchen while it's cooking...but I digress. My french fries were cold/shriveled. They were probably sitting around while my burger was burning. My wife ordered ribs and BBQ chicken. The ribs were apparently amazing. She loved them and that was a good thing because her chicken was inedible. It was like rubber...and that's not hyperbole, it was hard and weirdly bendy. I thought it wasn't chicken at first because it looked so weird. Also for BBQ Chicken it hadn't been basted at all. They just squirted a small amount of BBQ sauce on top before bringing it out. Her food also came with garlic mashed potatoes (that didn't taste or smell of garlic) and coleslaw. I would've eaten the coleslaw because my wife hates it but it was so brown and dried out (yes, the coleslaw was DRY somehow) that I couldn't bear to try it. My mother in law was the only one that got lucky, her meal of steak and shrimp was totally normal. No hiccups. All in all I wouldn't go back here even if the food was free. I went there for the first time last night. It was crowded and busy. The food was OK, the servers were attentive. But, when I asked one server: "What's the password for the Sizzler - Guest network?" She laughed and replied: "We don't know. We haven't known for two years. No one knows. I don't know why we even have that..." That was a FIRST for me! I came here not too long ago out of pitty for a friend who was craving this place. He had a medium rare sirloin steak that he ate up with a huge smile on his face and I had the Malibu chicken, something my fiancé says can easily be made at home. We also had some of the items from the buffet bar which weren't bad. At the end I thought it would be cool to let our waitress know it was my friends birthday because from what I remember the employees sing a really cool song at your table and bring out some chocolate cake which I thought would be a fantastic finish. Came here with the gift card I received for my birthday 2 weeks ago.. came in with my wife and ordered our food...we had been talking about eating here all week and were excited to enjoy our meal...when it came time to pay I was told that the gift card machine was not working and was having problems...if that was the case why was there not a sign or a disclaimer anywhere...they just waited and not only embarrassed us...they held up the line and made us out to look like the bad guys...what kind of restaurant chain offers gift cards and does not have the means to process them...we were just there at the same sizzler 2 weeks ago for my birthday and spent several hundred dollars on lunch...my parents come to this restaurant 2 times a month and I'm gonna have a talk with them about that..on top of being embarrassed we were no even offered an alternative...if I was a manager/owner I would have offered a comp for the dinner or at least a discount...I will be speaking to the corporate office about our service and your shotty gift card computer...actually I remember the last time I received a gift card for here they were having a problem then...I would think it would have been fixed by now...by the way I did have the money to pay for the dinners it was more the point..... read more

Service was whatever, the guy didn't do much at all. Food came fast, steak was really fatty and tasteless. A worker was smoking a cigarette right by the door (which my family was sitting by). I told a worker and she literally just looked at me and ignored me. I told her it's illegal in CA to smoke that close to a door. She did nothing and did not care. Sizzler never seems to let us down. We walk right in, order our food, and before we know it, we are seated and have our salad bar plates. Our food comes out warm and tasty within a fairly short time. We went this evening, and out hostess was awesome! Her name was Leslie. She found out it was my son's birthday and treated him like royalty. At the end of the meal, she allowed us to sit back and enjoy our conversation after making sure we had what we needed. She did check in with us periodically. The last surprise were cups with mints and meaningful little note cards. It made my family's night receiving such thoughtful note cards. Sizzler's a traditional Mainstay with good food and decent prices. We always enjoy it when we could get a good meal here. However, I encountered something today that was a little odd. I placed a to-go order and asked for my side salad which was an option on the menu. Was told that side salads are only available if I dine in, and not available for takeout. If I wanted it to go it would be an extra $3 and something. I really don't understand that. A salad is a salad, especially a side salad. What's the difference if I take it to go or dine in? Sizzler, with so much restaurant competition out there now, please consider offering the advertised menu choices both for Dine-in and take-out. read more

Went back to my old stomping grounds with old friends to visit the Sizzler. This was our hangout, the all you can eat shrimp, the steak. The place looks different but kept clean. Our waiter was young but friendly and really accommodated us indecisive ladies. The steak and potato is still decent for the price. Surprised actually how well the steak was actually done medium to my liking. The salad bar was decent, not so so fresh, but good enough. Now I do have a biased opinion because I LOVE sizzler anyways but there is a reason that this is referred to as the "Good" sizzler in my family and is by far the best one in southern California. Two words...onion rings. Yes this sizzler is the only one around that still serves onion rings at the salad bar. They also have corn nuggets which are also quite popular with my family members too. The waitresses are always nice and that's why I come back. I do have a gripe tho. Their chicken wings at the salad bar are ALWAYS overcooked and burnt. They need to give the cooks some lessons on how to cook wings. Air conditioning can be a little intense. I usually sit on the south side of the building to avoid it. read more

We've been going to Sizzler in Los Alamitos for over 6 years now. Me and my family always go at 7:30 pm every other Sunday after church and sometimes weekdays. They do have fresh food and for $9.99 salad bar you can't beat that but they raised the price to $12.99 still damn good price. We stopped going for over a month, cause I noticed, at around 8-8:30 they stop serving fried buffalo chicken wings and onion rings. They raised the price but put less food. So anyways yesterday sunday (9/7/2014), I told my wife let's see if there are changes. We went, same time we usually go and guest what, it became worst, "no buffalo fried chicken wings, and burned, I mean burned (black) onion rings" (I should have took a picture) i had to asked twice for the chicken and when you take a bite at the onion rings, it's hard as a rock. Price is really really good but when you give up the quality of service and food, I'd rather pay more and enjoy the food. We maybe just one family, that you will lose as a customer but we were a regular customer. read more
