Or to go or have it delivered!!

Very authentic Italian food here at Valentino's in Los Alamitos, CA. Been here several times, this week I tried the Lasagna with bread and salad!! Excellent The owner Ely is a hands on operator/owner! Where else can you find a gentleman who is experienced in his craft and takes it seriously! this is not a chain pizza store. Ely takes pride in his craft and it shows in the food! Looks great, tastes awesome! Love the old skool pizza makers. It's a lost art, and getting harder to find these hidden gems! Thanks Ely!! Until next time!! (FYI) such a nice man, I left my glasses and hat there, and Ely returned to open up and allow me to gather my things after he was closed! As he knew I was just staying in town just for the night! thanks again Ely!

I always enjoy their pizza! Came in recently and the pizza tasted like they changed the recipe... it was still delicious but tasted different. The service was great when I came in. Local high school kids were in there so it added a " college town " aesthetic. It was nice and I'll always come back.

Perfect taste perfect size

The restaurant is small but has such a cozy atmosphere, with just enough tables to feel intimate without being cramped. My husband and I ordered the uni cream pasta and the bolognese - the uni pasta was delicious, rich and briny with that unmistakable uni flavor coming through, however it was a bit too heavy by the end but still worth trying though if you're a fan of uni! The bolognese on the other hand was ABSOLUTELY delicious, probably top 3 pastas I've had in my life. It was really flavorful and you could tell it had been simmered for quite a while, and the wine flavor really complimented the whole dish so well without being overpowering. Both pastas were cooked perfectly al dente and honestly left me wanting more. The chef actually came out and brought us our pastas himself, which was such a kind and personal touch. You could tell he genuinely cared about the food and the experience he was giving us and little details like that made the whole meal feel even more special. Overall such a great find, and I'm so glad I finally checked it out after hearing the hype. Would definitely come back to try more of their menu!

The space is small; its max capacity for the space used was 40 persons. 4 tables, 10 persons per table and with the appetizer and cake set up, it felt a little cramped for 40 persons to mingle. In typical Italian restaurant setting, the ambience is low light and moody. Appetizer hour: 1. Coconut chicken 2. Calamari 3. Assortment of cheese, crackers and fruit 4. Artichoke spread with toasty bread (my fav of the night) The two servers that catered our party were fantastic; I wish I caught their names. Dinner: 1. Seafood pasta 2. Tucson chicken pasta 3. Chicken Marsala 4. Filet mignon 5. Chilean sea bass 6. Mashed potatoes 7. Sautéed squash 8. House salad The Chilean sea bass is to die for! So flaky, so light but flavorful. Overall, it was a great experience and I can't wait to take my husband for a date night. The live music is a plus! Please note: parking can be rough if you don't valet. Valet is $12. There's a shared lot with Kobe Steakhouse and there's a parking attendant there that will have your car towed if you're caught. But there's ample parking across the street in the commercial building lot. Just a little extra steps but totally worth it.

What an amazing experience I had last night. We have…read morevisited this establishment many times in the past, but yesterday was great and a bit bad. My wife and I ordered a pizza to start. Well asked for it to be welcome and perfectly it came out. Our main was Pappardelle with short rib and the lemon chicken. Unfortunately the mains were pretty cold. Small blame on the kitchen. Here is how my experience became a WOW. My server NASTASSIA was the reason my night was perfect. She was so understanding and empathetic about the cold food. She immediately asked what she could do to make it better. She requested a new dish to be fired up. New pappardelle came out perfect with another side of mashed potatoes. She once again asked blue the food was and if we're were happy. She also informed the manager of our experience. She came over and also apologized and offered my wife and I dessert. My wife picked the bread pudding. Overall I am a BIG believer that employees are the reason for the success of a business. More employees in the world need to be more like Natassia. THANK YOU

I've really struggled with how to rate this restaurant. One star? Two stars? I can't quite bring…read moremyself to give it one star because that feels too harsh, especially since I genuinely wanted this place to succeed. We waited forever for this restaurant to open. When it finally did, I was excited. It's in a gorgeous Spanish-style building with beautiful tile roofing, and they completely renovated the interior. The restaurant is beautiful inside, the outdoor patio is fantastic, and everything is clean and well-maintained. You really can't complain about the setting. But here's the problem. I have absolutely no issue paying a lot of money for great food or a great experience. What I do have an issue with is paying premium prices and getting neither. The prices here are comparable to what you'd expect at a Ritz-Carlton or Nobu. But you're not getting Ritz-Carlton service, Nobu atmosphere, or particularly memorable food. Nothing about the food or drinks stands out. Take Nobu, for example. You can arguably find better sushi at plenty of other restaurants. But people go to Nobu for the entire experience. The atmosphere, the energy, the people-watching, the social scene. It's a vibe. You're paying for more than just dinner. Here, you're paying Nobu prices without the Nobu experience. And here's how I personally judge a restaurant. When I get hungry, does that restaurant pop into my head? Do I find myself craving something they make? I literally live across the street from this place, and not once have I been hungry and thought, "Let's go there!" That says everything. What's especially disappointing is that the warning signs were there from day one. We had been eagerly waiting for this restaurant to open, along with so many other people in the neighborhood. When it finally opened, we went over, excited to try it. What happened? Complete disorganization. They couldn't seat us, wouldn't let us wait for a table, and had some strange system that seemed to make absolutely no sense. They were turning away customers left and right, frustrating people who had been waiting months to experience this new restaurant. I remember thinking, "What the heck are they doing?" There's an old saying: How you do anything is how you do everything. Looking back, that opening experience was the first red flag. Something just wasn't right. Unfortunately, after giving the restaurant two chances, that initial impression hasn't changed. The food is average at best, the drinks are nothing special, and the atmosphere doesn't justify the prices. And here's the thing: A restaurant doesn't necessarily need a great social scene if the food is outstanding. I'll happily pay top dollar to sit in a quiet, unremarkable restaurant if the food is incredible. Likewise, I'll pay premium prices for a restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and social experience, even if the food isn't the absolute best. But you have to give me something. Great food, an unforgettable atmosphere, exceptional service, something unique that makes me want to come back. Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't deliver on any of those things. That's what makes this so frustrating. The physical restaurant is beautiful. The location is fantastic. They've clearly invested a tremendous amount of money into creating an attractive space. But a beautiful building doesn't make a great restaurant. After a couple of years in business, I still don't see the kind of excitement you'd expect from a truly successful destination restaurant. You don't see lines out the door or people clamoring to get in. And I worry about their long-term future because, at these prices, customers need a compelling reason to return. I genuinely wish the owners success. I wanted this place to become one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. Being directly across the street, I should be one of their easiest repeat customers. Instead, after giving them two chances, I have absolutely no desire to go back. There's nothing on the menu I crave, nothing about the atmosphere that draws me in, and nothing about the overall experience that justifies what they're charging. It's a beautiful restaurant with so much potential, which makes the disappointment even greater. I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, I just can't recommend it, especially at these prices.

I will say that I did not enjoy my main course of Porchetta. We had a great time to find some new hand care products @Lather and went to discover an authentic italian restaurant which lots of Yelpers mentioned. My wife said, we have to order at the front, then they bring the foods to the table but the owner took our orders, and brought the foods so fast just like other Italian restaurant. We love meat lasagna, pasta w bolonese sauce, and some flat breads like appetizer pizza. We ordered 3, lasagna, tagliatelle bolonese, flat bread sandwich called Cassone w sausage, bell pepper, onions. I had some italian red wine per glass ($14). First, I loved so much my lasagna and kept eating until finish my entire portion. I give 10 stars. My wife's pasta, she said pasta is too thick, might be on purpose? She likes soft, thin texture handmade tagliatelle. For the first time, we ordered flat bread sandwich. The sandwich flavor was good, but not the dough for flat bread. Well, we tried here for the 1st time after shopping. Today was almost 81 this afternoon. Hot and humid.....unluckily AC was broken so he opened the entrance door. One big fly bothered a lot annoying us eating the foods. And so hot inside restaurant. Overall, I liked my lasagna a lot, not really tagliatelle bolonese, nor the flat bread sandwich. If AC was working during lunch time. We felt much comfortable to enjoy our foods. One thing, I loved the red wine but the portion was not enough for $14. Even my wife said, not much for this price. I got 2 glasses of italian red wine, not enough. The view was great ocean side from the patio. This is a strong point eating here for the view. My wife saw the live pasta cooking show, a chef made the pasta, stretching the pasta dough in the kitchen....great show! Fun! Hopefully AC runs well especially hot summer season, the portions of pastas and wines might be more generous for the future.

Long story short we sat there for what felt like 20mins waiting for our food to be told our food wasn't put in. The server tried to blame my wife for saying to come back and get her order which another server did come back and my wife said she's not having anything because I was going to eat with my kids because we already place our order. 10 more minutes pass and the original server who took our order comes back and said what were you having again with this blank look on her face with so comprehension of the situation. I asked did you put in our kids order? she said we don't do that, we put in the orders all together (makes no sense, even when we asked already to put in their order). I tried to explain, it's okay will be leaving. We couldn't wait any longer for food and she proceeds with the nobody home look and tells me you have to wait for food wherever you go, like I was the kid when she was probably half my age. We won't be returning to this business.
