I had a reservation booked and paid for 2-3 months in advance for a suburban to be picked up at the Union Station location at 530 pm. When we arrived at the Denver airport Saturday 7/18, I decided to call and confirm that we would be to Union Station shortly. The first woman that I spoke with informed me that Union Station had closed at 5pm and that I would have to wait until the next day. I told her that she had lost her mind and that someone was going to give me a vehicle one way or another seeing as how 6 of us were stranded at the airport. I also asked her why it would let me schedule for the vehicle to be picked up at 530 if they were going to be closed. She didn't have a good response. She proceeded to transfer me to the airport location where I spoke to Joshua and explained everything that was going on. He told me that the Union Station location should still be open. He then put me on hold for a few minutes and came back on the line and told me that unfortunately, they were closed and they couldn't help me because the airport location was sold out. Once again, I told him that I didn't care how but they were going to give me a vehicle whether it was through them or another rental company. He told me that I should've received an email or something stating that the location would be closing early. I told him the last email I received was 2 days before confirming my reservation and saying that everything was set and ready to go. I then forwarded him the email so he could see for himself. He looked it over and said let me see what I can do. At this point, I told my family that we were getting on the shuttle and going down to the office to take care of the situation After being on the phone for over an hour, and being put on hold for over 30-45 minutes, Ahmad gets on the phone and informs me that there is nothing that can be done because there isn't a manager on duty and they have no authority to fix the problem and proceeds to tell me that he had customers in front of him, that he would have to go. At this point, I was livid! We arrived at the airport location and started speaking with Joshua. I asked him what we were going to do to fix the problem. He told me that we would have to come back the following day to pick our vehicle up when the Union Station location opened. I said so Sixt is going to reimburse me for the hotel tonight and then compensate for all of the BS. He said he couldn't guarantee that because he wasn't sure. Ahmad finally steps over and tells us that the Union Station location is closing early bc of "protests" & covid. I said well nobody communicated anything to us! He said was unable to get in contact with a manager but that he has a managers minivan that he can give us and that we can either stay in Denver that night and pick the suburban up the next morning or just keep the minivan the whole week. We already had a cabin 4 hours away paid for for the week so staying in Denver wasn't an option. He said that we would be compensated for the screw-up but couldn't tell us how much bc he wasn't a "manager". I said you guys could've saved us a lot of trouble from the get-go by saying "hey, I'm sorry for the mistake but we can put you in a minivan and get you on your way" instead of all the bs we had to go through. Ahmad told me to contact the Union Station location Monday morning and they would take care of the problem. It was also kind of ironic that at the same time we were in the office another customer was bitching because he wasn't getting the vehicle or similar vehicle that he paid for. Monday morning rolled around and I called Union Station. I believe I spoke with Tessa. After explaining the situation, she told me she would credit the car seat fee, one way fee which didn't make sense because it was not my fault that we had to get a vehicle from the airport location to begin with, and then the $100 fuel credit that I had. She sent me a confirmation email. When we returned the vehicle the following Saturday 7/25, a lady met me at the car to get the keys and informed me that I should be receiving an email confirming the credit in the next few hours. I thanked her and we went on our way. Today which is 7/27, I still have yet to receive an email so I called earlier and was informed that the contract was closed therefore my issue would have to be sent over to billing and it should be evaluated and I should hear something within the next 48 hours. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST RENTAL CAR EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. THE BUSINESS IS VERY UNORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND POORLY COORDINATED AND OPERATED. Just nothing good I can say about this piece of crap car rental company!! They claim to have new vehicles all the while being broke and shouldn't have ever left the rental lot!! I was practically rear ended 3 times trying to get off road when car out of no where goes into neutral and comes to complete stop on a busy highway!! Thanks for about putting me and my wife in the hospital. Then after waiting 2 1/2 hrs on my vacation for a tow truck driver to get another car which was not the Mercedes I rented. Absolutely shit service!!! Then we get home and find out my wife's credit card was charged $1000 deposit when we only rented one car and these idiot people said we rented to 2!! Nope one piece of crap car broke down, and they hauled it away mean while still charging us $500 deposit on a car we don't have. No word , no warning about this scam going on! And then charge you up front $50 for tolls and we maybe used $10 and they took that remaining money and pocketed it! Thanks a freakin lot ounce again for stealing from us!! Then to top it all off after 3 1/2 hrs on the phone to customer service and everybody in all Sixt offices around the country trying to reach the AWFUL SIXT OFFICE IN DENVER COLORADO!! If I could give zero stars I would , first off DO NOT EVER USE THEM FOR A RENTAL CAR SERVICE! I book a hotel and car combo through Travelocity, it was for 8 days and the whole package was 1700 dollars! I live in Denver and never heard of them but they offered a car through the website for cheap( my first mistake), I call them and see what's the requirements a whole day before! The Sixt representative assured me all I needed was a utility bill, drivers license and a debit card! I repeated and ensured that this was all I needed! I show to pick the car up at 8am to only be told that I can't get the car because they only accept major credit cards! I told him the rep said that I could use a debit card as long as the card had a bank with physical locations, which I did)(US Bank) they straight said they don't take it, so after going back n forth with them for 3 hours, I had to cancel the car! Remind I'm supposed to be leaving g for San Diego that same day, never left that day! Their customer service sucks, they still charged me for a car I didn't pick up , then they were not trying to give me my money back!!! I had to call and sit on the phone with their billing department who they previously said they couldn't reach, like what company can't reach their own billing department? Worst rental experience One of the worst rental experiences I've ever had. I will never rent from Sixt again. I wish i can give zero rating. When I returned my vehicle at Denver Airport, the Sixt agent suddenly claimed there were three scratches on the car. I immediately disputed this, because my own photos from before and after the rental showed no such damage. Despite this, the agent insisted on documenting them as "minor scratches." I later received a repair estimate that made the situation even worse -- it listed a long list of additional damages I never saw, was never told about, and that were NOT on the official return report, including supposed damage to the bumper, grille, headlights, tail lights, quarter panels, wheel liners, and more. None of this matches the condition of the car when I returned it. formally asked Sixt to explain why they added unrelated damage after the fact, to provide timestamped photos, and to break down the repair costs item-by-item. I also requested a reasonable extension because the deadline they gave fell right over the holidays. So far, the situation has been handled poorly, and I'm left disputing charges for damage I did not cause. This experience has shown me that Sixt's damage claims process is inconsistent, misleading, and incredibly frustrating. I strongly recommend avoiding Sixt altogether -- the stress and the risk are simply not worth it. read more

Best Car Rental Experience and Best Car Rented EVER. I have driven over 1,000,000 miles in my lifetime - and have traveled extensively for both business and holiday purposes and have rented vehicles literally 100's of times. I've never heard of Sixt until recently looking to rent a vehicle for an extended period of time to make a 3 week trip. Sixt had the BEST Rates.....then something caught my eye.... Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, and other high end vehicle rentals? Wow! I thought this would be at an excessive cost. I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable a more enjoyable higher end rental was! Never hearing of the company before had me do a bit more research.... I wish more people would have the Customer Service Experience, knowledge, and caring attitude that we found with both Casmira and a Supervisor named Kim both in the Denver location. They were amazing - answered all my questions - and provided a rental that was the MOST ENJOYABLE CAR I've ever rented, with an overall AMAZING CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. After getting a great deal with Sixt through hotwire, I was then worried after I looked over reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised with a great experience. We arrived in Denver and after getting our luggage from baggage claim, went straight to look for the Sixt shuttle and there was one waiting for us (first good thing). The shuttle took us to the office and we waited only a few minutes before it was our turn to be helped. We were worried about the snow and the travel to ski resort, so we were asking for an AWD vehicle. And sure enough, they were able to rent us an AWD Hyundai Santa Fe that also has 3 rows, as we are a family of 5 (second good thing). The best part is it was not an extra charge to what I had already paid (score, bonus)! The SUV handled the snowy conditions perfectly and we had no issues. We brought the car back full of gas and they quickly looked it over (no damage) and the shuttle was there waiting to take us to the terminal. I rented a car at the Sixt Denver International Airport via Hotwire. When I arrived at the location, Jessica (agent) asked about my travels. I explained to her that I originally booked the reservation when I learned my dad was ill. Unfortunately, I did not make it, as he had passed earlier that morning. Jessica was incredibly helpful when learning of my circumstances, and offered to upgrade my rental at no additional cost. She wanted to ensure that I had an appropriate vehicle since I was going to be doing a lot of driving in potentially snowy conditions. She was gracious, compassionate, and helpful. Upon returning the vehicle, Nick was our shuttle driver. The shuttle was prompt, we did not have to wait, and Nick was very kind and helpful. read more

Very dishonest and unethical! On Dec 25 2025, Anthony Rohlicek and his team at SIXT Denver advised me to cancel my car reservation (which I booked through Expedia) so that my mother-in-law would upgrade her reservation to a larger and more expensive car for our whole big group (instead of two smaller cars as our group originally planned). SIXT Denver also promised me a full refund and asked me to contact Expedia to process that refund (which I did right away). However, when I contacted Expedia again after a month to ask why I still hadn't received a refund, Expedia told me that SIXT "have denied the refund and mentioned that they have no records that a cancellation free of charge has been approved". The office/lot, though off site, was pretty easy to get to from the airport using their shuttle service. Seemed to be on par with the rest of the competitors. The office itself was very nice, with complementary water and coffee, phone charging stations, and a clean, and stylish vibe. I've rented from this location twice. The first time was fantastic. The second time I was sent a bill for damage to the bumper of the car well after I had returned it. I asked for details showing that it happened on my rental and they were never provided. In addition, the damage is very minor and I'm quite shocked that I'd be charged for it even if it was clearly done on my rental. I thought I had found a new fun rental car place in Denver, but alas I found a place that wants to fine me for a bumper scratch that they can't even prove I did. I won't be using Sixt again. I had less than an hour to get to my niece who was being taken off life support The shuttle driver called ahead to ensure I could get ahead of the line (and there was none) but I still appreciate his kind gesture! She also assisted in typing the address to the hospital in my GPS which all ultimately allowed me to say my final farewells to my beloved niece. New This company stole money from me. 8 months after returning their car I receive a charge on my account for an alleged traffic violation I never received. I have even reached out to their Traffic and Tolls Department. Screenshots of their response attached. I was never notified, and no payment was requested. They just took my money. Even though I have incontrovertible proof they are mistaken, they have yet to refund the money they stole. It seems likely they prey upon people's apathy to steal from them regularly. Me and my best friend rented a Jeep Wrangler at Sixt Denver Airport for our road trip through Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. The car was beyond our expectations. New, clean and convenient for a reasonable price. When we brought back the car we were a little late. Fortunately this was not an issue. The guy to who we returned the car, Nicholas, was very kind and helpful. All in all we had a great experience with Sixt. In the world of car rentals, we had a great experience with Sixt! We were little concerned that we had never heard about this agency before, but took a leap of faith when the more established car rentals at Denver Intl Airport were almost twice as expensive. The staff was courteous and immediately offered us an upgrade at no additional cost. Really liked the text updates that the company provided us; along with the "Uber" like tracking of the shuttle buses upon our arrival to Denver. Definitely would rent from Six again :) read more

The person at the counter tried to get us to upgrade our car for twice what we paid. He said that we needed a 4 wheel drive because the roads were icee. We did not upgrade our car because we had heard the same lie from Sixt employees before. The roads were not icee and the car worked fine for our needs. It is awful that this company tries to steal money from people by lying to customers. The man at the counter also tried to get us to pay for car insurance when our car insurance covered rental cars. After informing staff that I was a young women, it quickly became obvious that they felt they could take advantage of me and started charging me for any charge they could find yet could not justify. Refused to provide me a copy of my receipt when I asked and then referred to this receipt on multiple occasions when I expressed my concerns. Very disappointing experience. I filled up the car right before returning it to Denver Airport, drove straight there, and was still charged $36 for "half a gallon" of gas. That makes absolutely no sense and feels like a blatant overcharge. There was no transparency, no proof, and no reasonable explanation. REALLY HORRIBLE COMPANY - STAY AWAY. I had a change of vacation plans due to my work. So I went ahead and cancelled the reservation 3 weeks before the pick up. To my shock, I found out that I was still charged 3 days worth of rental ($200) as a penalty. No reputable company charges penalties in such a high amount as a penalty.
