I have eaten here a few times this summer and several times since they've opened. So this is a general review. Some of the pros - consistent, good food, great pizzas when cooked properly and one of the best views on the bay when seated upstairs. Kids menu prices and overall value is a perfect compliment to the normal menu. Cons - the pizzas sometimes come out undercooked or burnt. Just inconsistent at times. The biggest management mistake is not seating people upstairs as the primary dining area. They usually start filling in the downstairs before they even start setting up tables upstairs. The upstairs has amazing views and can make up for any disappointments in food or service. It's so nice up there, it will make you want to come back and bring others to share the experience. It's a huge management miss that I just don't understand. Service is generally below average to inconsistent at best. This is usually the case for the seasonal restaurants around the area. If you want great service, and I mean really great, Bay Street is your only choice. Tip - the kids pizza is the exact same dough as the adult pizza, just not pounded out to a thin crust. Great value. Update 9/14/19: had an awesome night with Kait as our sever. Finally great service, and I mean truly amazing. We even made sure her manager knew. Ask for her next time you're there. My wife and I stumbled upon this town while cruising down lake RD. Never heard of it before. Had no idea where we were. Decided to pop into for a bite and bev. Six50 had just opened in June. It is beautifully redone. Great atmosphere. Outdoor eating with view of bay. We sat at bar. Nice bar great pour from bar tender. Nice selection of beers. View at bar to bay is somewhat limited with beer taps blocking view. Brick oven smells great. The bbblt sandwich is good with lots of bacon. The Cuban sandwich is great size. Could probably share. It was good. But personally wasn't as flavorful as other Cubans I've had. Maybe the pressed kind adds a different flavor. This was a hogie sub type. Over all great place to check out. For the past couple of years Six 50 was one of our favorite places. Two weeks ago we went and we were seated quickly. Our waitress was extremely rude throughout our meal. Tonight we waited for 45 minutes, however there were many open tables. When we were seated the hostess told one of our party of 6 that there was no more pizza dough...in a pizza restaurant, on a Saturday night! When the waitress came to take our order, she was the same rude person from two weeks ago. One of our party ordered pizza, not knowing there was no more to be purchased. The waitress looked at him and said in a very abrupt, condescending tone, "you were told that before you were seated". We left because the wait for food was going to be another 45 minutes. We will never return...very poor service and treatment, poor management to run out of their feature dish....a very disappointing experience. read more

Pretty disappointed. Seafood should be good seeing how we r on the water. Peel and eat shrimp were so over cooked the shell would barley pull off. Bland in taste. My boyfriend got the salmon with risotto and asparagus, the salmon filet itself was beautiful but it had maybe a dash of pepper and a dash of salt added. That would be okay if the risotto had any flavor at all other then plain plain plain risotto. As plain as oatmeal. I like crunchy asparagus but not when it also had not even a lick of flavor to it. So dissapointed! Pizza was burnt. Apparently its there way of cooking...yuck! Pizzas were tiny and we orders 3 for a party of 6 and had to order another because we were still hungry. Similar to other review. Great facility, good service, but bland food. I had the linguini and meatball, but was served rigatoni instead with no explanation. The meatball was unseasoned and full of fillers of some sort. It was too soft for my taste. The red sauce is homemade, but not special. My salad was bagged mixed spring greens that were past their prime and should have never been served. The pizza was ok but under seasoned. The dough was bland and the steak unseasoned. Lemon cranberry chicken salad sandwich sounded like a nice summer meal. There's no lemon and no cranberry, but some odd spiciness. Who makes chicken salad spicy? The portions were large but that could not make up for the lack of flavor. We won't be back until the reviews indicate something has changed. So please do try harder. Sodus Point needs new restaurants and this one has so much potential. read more

Although we were seated immediately, the night quickly went downhill from there. The service was incredibly slow even though they didn't seem that busy and were not under staffed. I ordered the salmon which was supposed to be served with asparagus and capers . It came with brocolli and there wasn't a caper in sight. My sons meal was served almost 10 min after the rest of us. I doubt I will be returning to this place again . . . Even if there is an 30-45 min at the place next door read more

I'd like to start with a positive... the food is usually spot on. That is why I'm giving them an extra star. The service...unreal. On a Friday night, my family of 4 walked in at 8:20 and they wouldn't take us because they were "thinking" of closing the kitchen at 9:00 (open till 10:00 which the hostess confirmed). We came for a lighter meal , we split a wood fired pizza ( they are basically personal sized) 12". The crust was crisp and the pizza had good spices ! The prices we didn't think were too bad , little high , but everyone is raising prices with minimum wages increasing . We sat on the deck , but almost every seat is deck , they open garage doors and every seat had a great view . Probably would give 4 stars but the chairs are not the most comfortable to sit in, they seem cheap . The service was great ! read more

we live 2 minutes from here but never visited until Saturday evening. Our kids were in from Massachusetts so we decided to go out for supper. Staff was personable, our waitress was awesome, beans and greens were delicious, artichoke/spinach dip was delicious, my grandsons grilled cheese, then nachos was good, hubby's cheeseburger was good as well as my sons, daughter in laws chic salad was good, then came mine. A piece of pre frozen, mushy and pressed haddock with a not so tasty breading, 3 red salt potatoes that were extremely salty and a Cole slaw that was very warm and dilly. But..I said to our waitress that I couldn't eat my meal as she saw my plate was still full, she took our plates and brought the check telling me that they comped my meal. I was pleased with that and we will return, especially for the beans and greens...oh by the way, the summer drink menu is awesom, try the Malibu Rum with Pineapple juice and Grenadine...delicious. read more

We were looking for dinner in Sodus Point and chose Six50 because it looked like it had promise - outdoor seating next to the beautiful bay and decent looking menu. We did enjoy the setting but that was about it. The service was just terrible. It took over 40 minutes for us to receive our entrees (we didn't order apps) and our waitress never checked in with us to update us, fill our water...nothing. And it didn't seem busy at all. My Havana sandwich was way too much bread and way too little filling, and no pickles! My daughter's mussels and pasta dish had almost no broth and what there was was way too salty. My son got salmon (which apparently was fresh-caught in Lake Ontario which was kind of cool) but it was overcooked. Too bad...such a nice setting, if it were run better it would be dynamite. read more

Great location for a restaurant and awesome vibes, although, unfortunate that their service did not mirror their fabulous atmosphere. The staff seems to be disorganized and overwhelmed, especially the hostesses. In this case the whole restaurant was not on the same page. If you do happen to stay, the best bet for food is their pizza, anything else may be inconsistent. Hopefully the Sodus location can improve on their operations and find more success amongst their customers. read more

Breakfast is awful! Store bought frozen potatoes warmed with nothing added pass as home fries. Hash browns are no better. The staff has an attitude (my party of 7 was too large). Make coffee at home and eat cold pizza. It will be better. read more

Terrible front staff the owner should know that his employees turn customers away and are very rude. We went once and the hostess sent us away and later we called to make a reservation and were told you were not taking any reservations but if we wanted to come in we could put our name on a list. Terribly disappointed with the quality of food! I came here numerous times last year, I supported them on opening night, I was very excited to have a beautiful new Restaurant In such a beautiful place! But tonight?!?! What happened?! Our wings were over cooked and lukewarm, our wedge salad was drowning in dressings! Oh and the wing order is supposed to come with 10 wings, ours came with 9. We told our server and about 15 minutes later she delivered "1" wing that seemed as though it was boiled, slapped with sauce, never finished in the brick oven?! Seriously?! When I told the Hostess/manager all about our disappointment she then informed us of they do have a new cook and there have been several other complaints about the quality of food AND she took my beer off the check!!! That was the only thing I didn't complain about! I really do hope they get it together before the season starts! Pass it by! I had heard good things and stopped in for dinner. I enjoyed the outside seating at least. I ordered a caesar salad, but they had no romaine. The house salad they brought out had black spoiled lettuce mixed in with not so great spring mix. The Chicken French was drenched in a bland sauce and the chicken had no flavor while drowning in liquid, placed over an unremarkable pasta. Coffee with grounds and no creamer offered, yet when requested they were out, yet I see it on the next table. Service was not attentive and at a glacial speed. Our presence seemed to be a burden for the server. I did enjoy the New England Clam Chowder served in a bread bowl. Perhaps if you go, stick to the pizza. read more

We started going here sine they opened and we're very impressed the spinach artichoke was our favorite. The last 2 times we have been in the quality of food has dropped dramatically. Tonight I had to send my food back because it was burnt and the spinach artichoke dip was very bland and not the same. A welcome addition to Sodus Bay. Fabulous pizza and a "Chic" new look for the Point. We've sampled the brick oven pizzas and they are REALLY good. Beer selection on tap is varied but a few good craft brews are available. Wine selection by the glass is also good. The main menu items look tempting and will have to wait for our next visit. Staff is helpful and friendly. Happy to find a new player and would whole heartedly recommend Six 50!!! read more

Crappy service. Walked in and sat at the bar. Bartender was emptying the dishwasher. Another lady came over gave us drinks menu. We waiting for bartender to empty the dishwasher but she went to other side of bar and served another party. We sat on the same side of the cash register so when she cashed them out she had to see us waiting. She got drink for 2 other parties and not us. So pissed went went down the street to the Franklin House. Had cold beer served with in a few minutes and ordered great food. FYI the bartender seemed to be in a bad mood. Maybe we sat on wrong side of the bar. But we left after she took a drink order from the 3rd party. Total awful. We have been to the other six 50 locations and the food and service have been great. This was our forth visit in two years second one in a month and won't be going back. Service is terrible. There was nobody there but a couple of tables who finished and and left soon after we got there so they weren't busy. The server never came back after delivering food until the bill. After our first disappointing visit earlier this summer where I had the cheeseburger wrap and my wife had the salmon we decided to give it one more try. The salmon was dried out and tasted like septic and my wife didn't eat it. We told the server and she apologized and asked if she wanted something else but we declined. My wrap was small and not that good. Two days ago we went back with some friends. The wedge salad is pretty good but the wings were like drumsticks but tough. A couple weren't cooked enough. All total we had 4 sodas/ice teas, a burger, two orders of wings, a large wedge and small wedge for $77! Very disappointing and we won't be back. read more

I have been twice to this restaurant, with great disappointment both times. My first visit was a late lunch. I ordered a simple gin and tonic which came totally watered down with a dried out lime. The cobb salad was not truly a cobb, lacking avocado. The pizza was completely bland and the cheesecake was like something from a box. Then I took some people to dinner there because of the lovely seating on the bay. Our waitress was friendly but truly clueless. When my salad was served, I had to go up to the kitchen area to get some pepper (one of the cooks gave me some in a plastic cup). My guests' strip steaks were tough and the rigs under my mussels were collapsed and stuck together - not really edible. I was not offered a spoon. I was not offered a plate for shells, so I used my salad plate which had not been cleared. In fact, no dishes were ever cleared from the table at all. Though high-priced, the food is just not very good, which is a shame because there is so little to choose from at The Point and the location on the water is fantastic. The owner should really get some better folks in the kitchen and follow through with some table service training for the wait staff. read more
