My husband was admiring the huge mixer in the lobby, and the owner brought up a picture on his phone of his wife standing by their even bigger mixer in the back. Super cool. We ended up ordering 4 donuts... chocolate frosted buttermilk bar, maple frosted buttermilk bar, regular old fashioned and chocolate frosted old fashioned. Since we showed up so close to closing, he threw in a couple extra donuts on the house! So nice! All the donuts were super fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

We almost turned around and walked out but wanted to try the food. They are trying to get table service back but perhaps there is not enough business to bring it back. We had last stepped in here a year or so ago when it was a deli. Nothing was changed inside. My designer wife said the decor is horrible and screams WAKE ME UP! Tired white paint on the walls and almost zero artwork. There are some pieces of metal artwork in a few places on the walls but that is it. Paint is cheap and could make a world of difference with different colored window trim and wall (and the ceiling looks like it has not seen paint in years). Get some artificial plants and a couple trees. This place needs a marketing wake up call. Get on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and other social media and advertise. Get something to pull in people, especially locals. This is the ONLY RESTAURANT IN FLORENCE THAT IS ON THE BEACH, FOLKS! Take advantage of that fact! Even Yachats does not have a restaurant on the beach. Ona is as close as they get, and it is on the river delta near the beach. Sell some updated sweatshirts, t-shirts and hats and offer a free drink if they wear your garb on future visits. Alicia took our orders at the main desk up front and was friendly, energetic, and was very engaged with her clientele. She gave us recommendations on our food, and we loved that. We both had the smash burgers and fries, and they were excellent - exceeding our expectations. The burgers had great, fresh flavor, had yummy, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles. The sesame bun was a perfect vessel and did not fall apart. The fries were double fried and had a delicious crispy crunch. This place screams potential and needs some upgrades to bring in more business. We will be back but would really like to see it become a landmark restaurant on Florences only beach. We didn't see any employees pumping gas while we were there. They have snack and beverage vending machines available as well. Overall, we got what we needed, gas! The pump we used had a crappy lever on it. It kept clicking off like the tank was full, but we only had about a quarter tank when we stopped in. We ended up putting $80 of gas in the tank, but had to hold the pump lever the entire fill-up. A bit annoying.

When I tried to hand her the ticket, she told me I had to go back to self-checkout and wait, claiming it was "not possible" to give me the money from her register. That's simply not true--I've turned in can deposit tickets at this exact Safeway through regular checkout multiple times before. Instead of helping or explaining calmly, she talked down to me and made the situation unnecessarily difficult. Policies don't excuse disrespect, and misinformation definitely doesn't help customers. This interaction wasted my time and guaranteed I won't be seeking help from that employee again.. I don't understand why people hire Rude individuals.
