I was there about a week ago for lunch with my husband and father. My dad lives in Florence and I always eat lunch here when possible. It is under new ownership and I was thrilled with everything! We got there early before the lunch rush and I was able to take some photos before lots of locals began to pour in. Many people comment on the previous owners' curmudgeonly way...but he's gone. And everyone on our day was a delight. We had the French Dip sandwich (heaven!) and a Cubano. They also had my favorite beer on tap - Elysian Space Dust, so that was a must. There are more tables for dining now, and there is a great wine room. I need to hit that next time. Keep it up!!!! I promise to come back frequently. read more

The ambiance was great, but the food was subpar. Clam chowder from a place that's right on the water, you would think would be much better.But it was pretty bad. Burger lunch like preformed, bean burger and not tasty. Chicken strips make something you got at the bottom of your freezer. Live violin music was a nice touch though. read more

I stopped in this morning and ordered a LARGE CAPPUCCINO. I was served a large black coffee. I explained that I hadn't ordered that but a cappuccino. The two young people began to argue with me that it WAS a cappuccino. I told them I make myself one every morning, have drank them for years, and know what they are. They basically called me a liar!! Two other ladies there ALSO tried to tell them but they just got more and more rude. I showed a picture of a cappuccino to the young woman who then replied, "I don't want to see your stupid picture!" I told the young man I was going to report their rudeness to the owner and he replied,"I'd like to report YOU to your owner." One of the other patrons that witnessed all this said she would also report them to her friend, Jill, that also works there. They were apalled as well! As a retired middle school teacher, I have to say the horrible conduct of these two young people helps explain what is wrong with our schools. I saw the lack of respect coming when I retired in 2013. So so sad!! No respect for their elders or authority. read more

5 of us went here for lunch. We all ordered different things and they were all horrible. The coleslaw was spoiled, the soup cold and they forgot 2 of the orders. We were the only ones there at the time. I do not recommend the food. The service was poor. The ambiance was okay. read more

We love this very comfortable Florence hideaway. Located at the east end of Old Town this is our regular breakfast spot. Sandwiches at lunch are excellent too. And you can't beat the reasonable prices and spectacular view. Great wine and snack selection too. Kinda reminds of the friendliness of a Cheers in Oregon. read more

Hi Yelpers. The man behind the counter was a total snob. He has no class what so ever. My wife and kids went by to pick up a wine order and ice cream for the kids. My 7 year old needed to urgently use the restroom. I myself have been allowed to use the restroom before. He wouldn't allow my child to use it. And he was rude about it. This old Fart looks like he can barely hold his bladder and had no sympathy for a young child. My wife's wine order was not there. The man could have explained politely but he decided to be a dick about it. This is a small town. And we know a few local wine clubs. Great location. Good place to come on a sunny afternoon for a beer, but this is my third and last try for the food. What you are served is not what the menu says. I ordered the pulled pork on a ciabatta roll with slaw. It came to me without the slaw on a hamburger bun and no cheese. I was told that "the slaw was rotten and they didn't want to make me sick". Thank you! Then I realized it was not on a ciabatta roll. I asked about that and they told me "that's the way I was told to make it", What? Why was I not told when I ordered that they didn't have the bread or the slaw or the cheese? And the meat looked absolutely gray. Yuk! I sent it back and didn't get anything else. The last time I was there I ordered a sandwich that was supposed to be on a roll and got a hotdog bun and the meat was incorrect. Time before that was similar. Excellent service, great sandwiches, and a nice selection of foods and other items. Likes: they have an absolutely beautiful view of the river behind the store. Today was a nice sunny day so it was super nice to be able to eat outside. I tried the Cubano sandwich and loved it. Their Panini bread is made at the sugar shack bakery 20 miles away. I also loved the siuslaw coleslaw.. It had cranberries in it and loads of flavor. What impressed me most about this place is that they prepared a box of macaroni and cheese for my daughter because she wasn't interested in any of the other items that were available. So we simply purchased box of macaroni and cheese that they had on the shelf and they gladly made it in their kitchen for us. I can't think of many Markets who would do this so it definitely went above and beyond. It was greatly appreciated. Dislikes: I would've liked to see a little more variety for lunch. I have stopped by this store for many years while going fishing and was throughly disappointed by the service today.The owner was working and I came in and asked politely for change for a $20 bill so I could pay for the parking outside.The owner respond with "Ya, if you f***ing by somthing".I was shocked and disgusted.I will never be doing be doing business at this establishment again.I have heard of other people being treated this way by the owner but never have experienced it myself till today. read more

They had lots of last minute items you could grab before you put your boat in the water. To bad I will never set foot in the store again. If you are bothered by a tourist asking questions you probably shouldn't be running a market in a tourist town. I could have handled all the unwelcoming attitude but the final straw was saying the only restroom was an outside public restroom when I clearly saw the marked restroom key sitting on the counter. I don't know why our presence was such an annoyance to this person, we were not rude, we bought items that we needed and tried to engage in conversation. Oh well, I won't go back and based on my experience couldn't recommend this retailer. read more

Sadly this review is only "fair" instead of excellent. I've been a pretty regular customer with several friends since this market opened. And, I've sung it's praises to MANY people. It's been our favorite place to enjoy a cup of tea on a cold, rainy, afternoon, and, the best place in town to get good pour on a glass of wine or a bottle to share with friends. I was anxious to share the great view and reasonably priced sandwiches and beverages with friends visiting from Canada and Australia. The new employees apparently need additional training. One of the sandwiches ordered was delivered in a timely manner. After the sandwich maker spent several minutes visiting with and providing water for the resident dog, I finally asked her if she'd forgotten about the other sandwich. I hope she washed her hands! She replied that she hadn't seen the order for that one. By the time our sandwich arrived, our friends had been finished eating for some time. It was NOT any busier than usual, so I'll give them one more try. read more

My wife and I just love this place. We stop by and enjoy a beer and cider while enjoying the scenic view of the siuslaw port. And the owners and staff are very accommodating as our little puppy sometimes is a bit rambunctious. Love this place and highly recommend it to everyone... read more

Terrible so-called veggie sandwich. Two pieces of bread with almost nothing inside. Wrong type of bread, one miserable piece of faded lettuce, one slice of tomato, no cranberry sauce although requested. Forgot to toast the bread although requested. Absolute joke, cheapskate place. read more

First off there is a patio with no signs or indication it's connected to a restaurant. We bought a few items from the market and then sat outside to eat our lunch. The owner came out and said very rudely that we are unable to bring outside food into his restaurant. Well there didn't appear to be any waiters, menus or any food but deli food. I would not spend my money at this place! read more
