Food is good and the location is nice and cosy. We arrived after 1 pm on a Wednesday afternoon and were able to sit immediately. We ordered one lunch combo and the nam ya phoo. It was nice to try the crab curry since we have not come across this before. The ingredients were fresh and lots of crab! Our server gave us a tip on how to eat the dish, which we really appreciated. The pad se ew from the lunch combo was yummy. read more

Just had a cute lunch with my old friend today, and although the pricing is slightly more expensive compared to other local Thai places, I think it's worth with their quality and taste. But I just wish their portion is generally larger! Pad See Ew was more than $20 and it tasted good, but a few bites the plate was gone lol Very cute lunch spot or even for a dinner spot but unless I need an occasion like today where I would invite someone over, not sure if I would go back just for my casual lunch outing. Service was friendly and tomyum soup was also decent. Parking is available in the streets with meters. read more

I stumbled upon this small, unassuming restaurant which had good reviews. Got there as soon as the doors opened at 4:30 and were kindly seated and advised by the waiter on dishes and drinks. We started with appetizers ordering the curry puffs, which were very tasty, chicken satay, which was a meal in itself, dumplings, which were just so-so, fresh spring rolls, and a green papaya salad. Honestly, we probably didn't need to order any entrées after that, but we did. We went for the whole fried branzino which was really good with the crispy skin, but the sauce a little too sweet. We also ordered a kind of stirfry with very tasty and properly cooked pork belly. We ordered the lobster ravioli in tom kai broth, which was good. Overall, the service was good, the portions were healthy, and the ambience was nice with lovely light jazz music playing. My only problem was that the food leaned on salty and too sweet. Dining with a person who was very sensitive to that, made the meal less enjoyable. I'm not sure I would run back to this restaurant, but would also not discourage people from giving it a try. read more

I'm such a fan of Sistory Thai Kitchen! Let's start with the ambiance: For the holidays, they are going ALL out. There's Christmas decor everywhere and a Christmas playlist. This is the most "wintry" it's felt in the East Bay. It helps because the inside of the restaurant is small and cozy. Their food is also fantastic. I've ordered dinner to go and recently tried their brunch menu. I highly recommend the SF Island Scramble if you want something unique with an Asian flair. The shrimp and crab meat are absolutely delicious! And, if you come in person, you have to try their cocktails. I ordered the February 15 and Thai Tea Tini. All cocktails are $9-12 which is a steal for the quality and creativity. Finally, the employees were so nice and sweet. They did a great job taking care of each table. It probably helps that the restaurant is on the smaller side. Come here for your next Thai or brunch meal! read more

this place is so good I had to order it 2 days in a row! I've tried countless Thai places in the east bay looking for my spot... but this is the one!! the panang curry is amazing, the fried tofu is crispy, the pad see ew is cooked to perfection, and the yellow curry is legit the best I've ever had!! most importantly, the thai tea has the right amount of tea:milk ratio so you still actually taste the black tea!!! take-out was packaged nicely and everything was still warm when it got here!! 10/10!! read more

A solid brunch place nearby Berkeley! The Thai tea pancakes were phenomenal. The pancakes were fluffy and not overly sweet, and the cereal added the perfect crispiness. A must-order. We ordered the pancakes as a combo, so it came with eggs and bacon, but they weren't anything too special. The Kao Mok Kai was decent. The chicken itself was nothing too mindblowing, but we really enjoyed the sauces and the rice. read more

I have had Thai food countless times and it never disapppointed until last night. First red flag was the lack of cooking smell when we entered, but rather an old cleaning product smell. The second red flag was finding a black hair in my soup (!) The tofu was so old it was all wrinkled and had deflated. Curry puff was ok Pad thai was the worst i ever had; the tofu presented the same evidence of being reheated many times, but also because the noodles over time had absorbed all the sauce, they had poured new sauce to "refresh" it and it was overly saturated. The one star is for not having food poisoning. read more

So disappointing. I love Thai food and my moms best friends is Thai and takes her out to Thai food almost weekly. We both left feeling like this may have been some of the worst Thai food we have ever had. No one in our entire party finished their food. My salad was drowning to the point the extra dressing at the bottom of the bowl filled an entire water cup when I poured it out. Both my mom and I love Thai food because they use the freshest and most vibrant veggies. We both left feeling like the veggies tasted off and definitely were not fresh. Also no one liked their mixed drinks and even sent one back it was so bad. I give two stars purely because the waitress was lovely. I give it two stars read more

Wrong order and plastic in my food. Tried calling in an order after their online ordering platform wouldn't accept apple pay or either of my credit cards, a person picked up, mumbled something, then disappeared. Waited a few minutes then hung up to try online again and had the same issue. Called again but this time no one picked up and was sent straight to an out of storage voice mail and disconnected. Tried again online and the order finally went through. Went to pick it up, and the order had the right label (beef pad see ew). When I got back to my apartment, I opened it up and it was chicken. I checked my receipt and confirmed I paid for the beef. I said whatever, let me just eat this since I have stuff I have to get to. The food was some of the most bland and unseasoned Thai food I've ever had. Chicken was extremely dry and unsalted. Noodles were pretty good texture, but not flavorful. All I could taste was black pepper. The Chinese broccoli had an extremely chemically flavor that I've never had with Chinese broccoli. Not bitter, just a strange chemical taste. Finally, when I was halfway through eating it, I picked up a piece of egg and was surprised to find it was plastic. Would 100% never return here. Judging by the other reviews about sanitary conditions, I'm astonished this place has such a high rating from Yelp, Google, and the Infatuation. read more

Parking is a hit or miss on certain days, but the food at Sistory Thai Kitchen is amazing. I live in walking distance, so I keep myself to only get it once a week. There is limited outside seating, if you have a dog or just want some sun with your pad see ew (which is my favorite noodle dish there). Everything tastes fresh and is made with care and good ingredients. Love both the pad kee mao and pad see ew for dine-in or take-out. The Yum Moo Krob is basically a pork belly larb, and it is AMAZING. Please note it has a good amount of fish sauce, so be careful where you open it up. The Beef Curry is tender and saucy and it is a rice stealer. Overall, decent prices, amazing food and if you need to park, there is a dollar store lot across the street. read more

The worst food, the worst service, the worst restaurant overall. Dry, bland, and no chicken when we ordered chicken! Just tofu!

Really lovely little Thai restaurant. Made a reservation for dinner for 7 people and they were very accommodating. Nice indoor space with a good breeze from the door if you're worried about air circulation. We are all vegetarian and our waiter was able to let us know which dishes we could order. It was unfortunate that only the yellow curry was vegetarian of the curries and none of the soups were vegetarian either. We enjoyed the spring rolls which were fresh and flavorful! The curry puffs were good but the filling was still a little cold. The spicy basil and eggplant dishes were similar but yummy and they were able to add veggies and tofu to it for us. Overall a really nice accommodating restaurant with good veggie options! read more

This cute popular spot in Berkeley is good for lunch and dinner and has just introduced some great brunch options. Run by 2 sisters, they have indoor and outdoor seating with around 10-12 tables. The interior is cute and themed based on the season. The service was great and quick. The food was delicious, some of their Thai specialities are popular. The crab Benedict was also delicious, they do have a series of Benedict options. They have a series of mocktails that are delicious. Must try for some delicious Thai food in Berkeley. read more

I've been to this restaurant 3 times and this last time was the most disappointing. The first time was just ok. The second time was on the weekend so we tried their brunch menu which was pretty good. This last time I went really made me not want to go back. I normally wouldn't write a bad review for a small business as I want to support them. However, I feel that maybe in this instance it may help the business to improve. I was actually there a couple weeks ago and just decided to write the review now. We were there before the restaurant opens so we were their 1st and only (while we were there) customer. I ordered an eggplant stir fry and my husband ordered the kao soi. The food came out relatively quick which was nice. However, my dish at most was luke warm! Parts of my eggplant stir fry was cool to the touch and my rice was not steaming hot but warm. I had to ask them to warm up my food which I'm sure they just popped it in the microwave. I didn't think about it till later and wondered if I was just served leftover food! I guess I would have been more understanding if it was busy and the food was left sitting waiting for someone to bring it to me. But there was literally no one else in the restaurant and the phone was not ringing with orders to come in. read more

Sistory Thai Kitchen is a true hidden gem. I was especially pleased with the presentation of our meals and the clean, contemporary interior design of the restaurant. The food was delicious! The Pad Thai had plenty of shrimp/pork and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The curry had a good balance of sweet and spicy (you can adjust spice level). The flakiness on the Roti was just right; I wish they served a bigger portion for the order- we ordered this twice! Staff is very sweet and accommodating. Fantastic new women-owned Thai spot in Berkeley! We loved everything about our dinner experience here. The brick-walled interior is super cute and vibrant with its colorful plates and flower vases. They have so many great dish options so it was hard to choose what to order! The descriptions they provide on their menu are super helpful though. The standouts of our meal were the fish tacos (love that they use roti in place of the tortilla) and the crab fried rice. But everything was delicious. Their drinks are also super pretty! I saw a Tik Tok about this restaurant and knew I wanted to check it out! The food was not only beautiful but tasted delicious. Here's what we ordered: * Mango Mousse Cake w/ Vanilla Ice Cream - Great texture and quite sweet! * Thai Tea Pancakes - Fragrant and unique! The pancakes were also sweet but not too sweet. * Curry Puffs - A flaky appetizer with a delicious filling. To top it off, the puffs came with a curry-flavored dip. * Kanoom Jeen Nam Ngew - This dish is made up of vermicelli noodles in a pork rib and shrimp paste stew. The stew was flavorful with a mix of sour and spicy flavors. We actually ordered the dish with mild spice but it was still pretty spicy. The stew was quite concentrated but the restaurant was kind enough to offer house soup to add to the dish to dilute it! read more

Nina and I met here today for lunch and our experience wasn't as good as the two previous times. They have instituted lunch specials for $19.99, which isn't a problem. The lunch specials allow you to choose from several starters, several mains and several drinks. The problem was that all the drinks are cold. It's been unseasonably cold and I wanted hot tea like I had had previously. The problem was their inflexibility in meeting that request. I asked the server to ask the owner, who refused. We ended up w/ hot water to drink, but it should not be an impossibility to switch from a series of cold drinks to a hot one. We both ordered fresh rolls, although there were other choices I found intriguing, like wings and spring rolls. I ordered pad see euw, which I hadn't had in several years because Alan couldn't eat it due to the sodium content. I ordered it w/ chicken. Nina ordered garlic noodles w/ chicken. Evidently she had to choose between chicken and vegetables. Happily, my dish had both. They came beautifully plated and a generous portion. In addition to the starter and main there was a delicious salad w/ a lovely vinaigrette. The entire meal filled a large plate and I thought it was worth the price. I just wish they had been more flexible about the drink. It left an unpleasant taste in our mouths. I don't think it was an unreasonable request. read more

After seeing Sistory Thai featured in an Eater article, I beelined down San Pablo Ave. that evening to check out what the hype was about! Along with the classic Thai dishes on their menu, some of their specialties included chicken and shrimp dumplings, Kanoom Jeen Nam Ngew (pork rib and shrimp paste stew), and Lobster Ravioli Tom Kha. We started with the Fish Tacos, which had a fusion flare with crispy battered fish wrapped in roti. Also ordered the Pad Thai, Kao Soi, and Pad Ped Moo Krob (crispy pork belly stiry fry), and everything was delicious. Kao Soi was definitely my favorite with the creamy flavorful curry and braised chicken thighs. Dessert was a bit of a let down from the meal though. We ordered the mango mousse cake and it had a nice flavor, but the texture seemed like it was still being defrosted from the freezer and the vanilla ice cream was a bit icy. Service was very friendly and attentive and they let us know they had recently opened for breakfast service (hello Thai Tea Pancakes!). We went on a weekday night and it was not busy at all, but the quality of the food and well-rounded menu is sure to draw more patrons in the coming weeks! Looking forward to trying more dishes on their menu. read more

They served some of the best Pad Kee Mao I've had. We had it with chicken and the flat noodles were saucy and spicy. The chicken was thin and delicious. 5/5 The fried spring rolls were very good. Noodles and cabbage with a soothing white pepper flavor. Comfort food. 4.5/5 The Tom Kha soup was a disappointment. It came with raw veggies piled on top (carrots, broccoli, onions, etc). I've never seen that before. And the size of the bowl and amount of broth made it so we couldn't really cook the vegetables much. Some of them did soften a little during dinner. One of the best parts of this soup is when the cooked veggies soak up the broth but that wasn't the case here. Plus, some of the veggies were left larger than the bowl you use to eat the soup which made for awkward consumption. And please leave out the halved raw grape tomatoes. That's a really bad flavor combination. The broth itself was decent and spicy but missing some of that rich flavor you'd expect from this soup. 3/5 The restaurant has a cozy look but the door didn't always close all the way as customers entered so the tables near the front were a bit on the chilly side. read more

Kanoom Jeen Nam Ngew. I applaud the chef's hand. Asked for it spicy. You got heat from the chilis. Sour from lime and pickled mustard greens. Shrimp paste salt umami bomb. Sweet unctuous falling off the rib pork... Bean sprouts and cilantro add bitterness and crunch. In the bowl. Lots of textures and flavors. The more I ate, the better it got. Long beans, blood cubes, red silk-cotton. Real variation in mouthfeel. Great balance. It's rich, add dry ingredients, it becomes light, even more delicious. read more

First time trying this spot and I'll definitely be back. Great service that was attentive yet relaxed. They let my friend and I chat and much for 1.5 hours. The door was well spiced and hit the spot. The crispy pork belly was actually crispy and bursting with flavor. The roti was airy and matched well with the yellow curry that it was served with. We also called the Panama curry which I wanted to pour over my rice even when I was stuffed. It has a strong taste of peanut which is different from what I'm used to but really nice. This will be my new neighborhood Thai place for sure. read more
