If you know me, you know that I LOVE massages! I have to get one at least once a month. This is one of my favorite forms of self-care, which is so important! It's easy and simple to book an appointment by calling their number. I can usually get an appointment the day of or the day before. They are located near Don Quijote. There's a dedicated parking stall so I never have issues with finding parking. There's even a sign to help you out. As you walk in, they will give you slippers to change into. It's super clean and quiet inside. There's never a crowd which feels very safe. I always get a 90 minute swedish massage. Rica is wonderful! She takes the time to make sure I'm comfortable. She somehow always uses the perfect amount of pressure. I prefer a more relaxing massage, but I know she can do deep massages as well. At the end of each massage, my body feels a million times better. After the massage, they give you water, tea, and snacks. They let you enjoy the refreshments inside the room which is amazing. I don't like lounge rooms where you have to sit with other people you don't know. You are allowed to enjoy the privacy of your own room and not feel rushed to leave. Did I mention that they also do package deals so that you can get cheaper massages?? They are the best! So tried out the hot stone massage with Nikki and it was FAB-U-LOUS. I went in with a tension headache and left with a relaxed state of mind. It only felt like 15 minutes for the 60 minute massage...I wish it went on forever....next time I'll go for the 90 minutes. I like the heat from the rocks along with massage melted the tension away. They also give you a nice cup of tea after. It's located in an apartment complex on the 1st floor, they do have parking stalls 21-23. So if you're doing massage day with the girls carpool. There are lots of choices when looking for a massage in Waikiki and our choice to go to Sirene Hawaii turned out to be a good one. Located at 1660 Kalakaua, we walked there from our Waikiki hotel. The building, behind a fabric store , is older and dated but the massage quality and service was excellent. We were greeted by the therapists as we came in the door, and treated to ice water as we completed an intake form. Soon we were starting the couples massage and scrub which lasted 110 minutes and cost $200 plus tax. The quality of the massage made it easy to also give a generous tip. The treatment was completed with a shower to clean off the grittiness of the scrub. Lastly, as a nice surprise, we got back to the room with a parting gift of hot tea and sweets. Nice, eh? Booked a couples massage for me & my good friend. They are having a special for October $99 for a 60 minute massage, what an awesome deal! The service & hospitality is top notch!!! We were immediately greeted at the door with slippers, a warm towel & lemon water. The room was nice & cozy and they provided us with robes to wear before & after our massage. The two therapists, a male & female, did an outstanding job of making sure that we had a relaxing and enjoyable massage. Already returned back here three times and it's my "go-to" place for a massage and to de-stress. Rica recently did a wonderful job with helping me get rid of allergies/sinuses and using natural oils to cure it! She's the sweetest and I admire the energy she brings every time I go. Tea/water are offered before and after treatment. Upon your first service, you'll need to sign an in-take form as well. Minor negative is that sometimes parking isn't available. There are only 2 stalls for the massage parlor, but perhaps street parking is the second option. Not a big deal, but it can get a bit crazy especially with afternoon waikiki traffic on Kalakaua Avenue (Keep that in mind). For a first timer, make sure you are reading Sunshine Massage signs places near the road, as finding the right door can get confusing. Also, the sound of traffic can sometimes be heard during the massage but if you can simply overlook that factor, then it should be okay. I was in town for spring break/babymoon and wanted to treat myself to a prenatal massage. I sent an appointment request and received a response from Mitsuko (the owner) within 30 minutes. She explained that since I was still early on in my pregnancy that it was too soon for a prenatal massage but I can certainly come in for a regular massage (laying on my back) with light pressure. The place was easy to find and had parking right in front. The office was very clean and kept in great shape. Relaxing music played throughout. Mitsuko greeted me right away and was very kind and welcoming. She performed the perfect massage and exceeded my expectations. It was our last day on Oahu and a rainy one at that. How to kill time? Get a massage! Naturally, we referred to Yelp for the highest-rated massage in Honolulu and Sunshine Massage was first on the list. We promptly booked an appointment and they took us that same afternoon. I'll first repeat what every previous review states: this place is a little tricky to find. You'll end up in front of an apartment building in a so-so neighborhood that will make you feel even more lost if you are unfamiliar with the city. A quick walk under the parking structure and you'll find their door. When we stepped inside, we were immediately greeted by two very sweet women who were eager to please. They gave us cups of water, special house slippers and sat us down to relax for a few moments while the room was prepared. Then they led us to a back room that was very cute and looked like they'd decorated it themselves. The massage itself started rocky but finished strong. My wife and I were side by side and could almost touch each other if needed. The lady who massaged me did a good job but I was having trouble relaxing because there were two different types of "soothing" music playing simultaneously - one in our room and one in the hallway. I asked her to turn one off. She also stepped away for a couple minutes to man the front desk, in the middle of my massage. At this point I was thinking this might not be the best experience. But she rebounded, somewhat. She came back and concentrated on me for a good 30 minutes, even walking on my back. I'm a big guy and she was small, so overall it didn't achieve the goal of cracking my back. The best part was that because of the rubbing, my jet lag and overall exhaustion I fell asleep by the end! I'll agree with a previous reviewer who may have had the same person. It wasn't a massage that was totally relieving. The pressure wasn't there and she never concentrated on one area for more than a couple seconds. Parking is right outside the door and easily accessible! Upon entering you are warmly greeted and offered fruit infused water, tea, and tiny chocolates. (As well as when you leave). This place is very quiet, with gentle music playing, very clean, and very comfortable! Never a crowd. The actual massage is exactly what you need. My husband and I came in for a couple's massage. We were able to get a same day appointment, which was nice. The atmosphere walking in was really pleasant and the lady who greeted us was very friendly. I'm not sure of the woman's name who gave me my massage, but I am fairly positive she has never been to a massage school and has no idea how the human body works. First of all, she kept grinding her elbows into my bones - my spine, the bones in my feet, my freaking CHEEKBONES. She thought massaging my trachea was a good idea and literally choked me because she decided to press on it. Seriously, it was not good at all, and I kept telling her that what she was doing was not pleasant or relaxing, or really even helpful. She also left me completely uncovered while she walked out of the room and left the door open. And when she came back in, she never closed the door. She poured so much oil on my body that it was literally dripping off of me. My hair looked wet from all the oil. I definitely would not go back here because of the experience. I've been so desperately in need of a massage and finally found some time to call a few places. Since I just moved back to town I didn't really know where to go so I trusted Yelp. I called Sunshine and was able to get a last minute appointment 30 minutes after I called. That was my first positive experience I followed the clear instructions from the person who took my reservation and easily found the building and parking. Second positive experience! I walked in and was greeted by the owner Lia and another lady. I filled out a quick form was asked if I would like water or to use the restroom and then taken to my room. The room was clean and standard size for massages with nice background music. Now the massage.... I asked for a deep tissue massage. Lia was the one who provided the massage and she was absolutely phenomenal! Not only was the pressure amazing but her techniques got every area I needed and some I didn't know I had! She was also very cautious of seeing if pressure was ok in various areas. I've had massages from various therapists from all over Hawaii and the mainland and she was definitely Top 2 if not the best! I called for a massage last minute on Friday 8/12 needing a massage badly, just to lose up my calf muscles from a the training I've been doing the Spartan race. I got an appointment immediately and live really close, which is AWESOME! When first walking in, I was greeted by an woman at the front desk who called for the woman who was going to massage.... This massage was just enough to get me loose and she knew how much pressure to apply so that I was not too sore to do the Spartan. I came across this place from all the great reviews and wanted to give it a try. I searched the site and found the massage I wanted, so I gave a call to set up the appointment. I set it for the next day, picked a time, and that was it. I was not asked what type of massage I wanted, so I assumed I would be telling them when I arrived. I mean who am I to tell someone how to run their business, so I went with the flow. Anyways I arrived for my appointment and was greeted by Rica who was very friendly. However at this point she still didnt ask me what type of massage I wanted. I ended up getting situated in my room and was at this point unsure what to expect. She enters and I mention which massage I wanted. She says ok. The massage starts and after the first 30 mins I can already tell I'm not getting the type of massage I wanted. So I asked her if this was the right massage, at which point she responds, "oh you want that type of massage?" I explained to her I visited her site and had my heart set on that type of massage. She then tells me that it is $10 more, which was not a surprise to me as I saw the prices on the site. The only thing is she tells me she did not have the correct oil to do that type of massage. She ends up giving more of a combination massage which was great, but it was not what I came for. She told me I needed to specify ahead of time so she could properly prepare. I was extremely polite and did not want to seem upset, but when you pay over $100 for a massage, you'd like to get what you ask for. At the end of it all, she still charged me the higher price for the massage but I didn't get that experience I was looking for. I have had the type of massage I requested before and this didn't quite cut it. I'm still giving three stars because it was an above average experience, just miscommunication that could have easily been avoided if I was asked up front for the type of massage I wanted. Also, if you have a website with a large list of choices, how can you assume someone is coming in for a combination massage? Rica did end up giving me $5 off my next visit, but I feel more could have been done as she knew I did not truly get the type of massage I requested **UPDATE** Rica is great, I love that she is so responsive. So we had a few hours to spare before heading to the airport. Close to 15 hours of travel were ahead of us. We couldn't think of a better thing to do than to get a massage. Thanks, Yelp! I was a bit skeptical at first. This isn't a storefront location. It seemed like we were going to a motel in an apartment-like complex. You had to ring a doorbell because the door was locked. I wasn't sure what was going to happen. Walk inside. A total 180. It was super clean. The ladies working asked questions about our health, medications we were on, and problematic areas. We did an hour couples massage for $110. Those ladies didn't hold anything back. They dug in deep and took out every knot in our shoulders and back. There were a few moments I wanted to tap out but knew that I had to stick it out because I knew the aftermath was going to be beneficial. When it was all said and done, I got beat up to feel amazing and had a not as uncomfortable ride home on the plane (no flight in economy is comfortable). Even small things like temperature of hot towels and how long they keep your skin wet after towel it was perfect! This place is very clean and well build apartment that was turned in to spa salon. Was on vacation with my siblings and decided to get the couples massage / reflexology. We were able to book an appointment easily for the same day. When you enter into the establishment, it is very zen. They give you slippers to wear or you can opt to go barefoot. The massage room itself, is very pleasant and well decorated. My sister and I were on beds next to each other. Beds are not heated if anyone cares to know that. I had...Paul...if my memory serves me correctly and boy oh boy was he spectacular! My sister liked her massage therapist as well. Both of them asked us if the pressure was okay a few times which is great. Totally relaxed afterwards. If only this place was closer to where I lived! The couples deal for $110 is a steal for an hr total.My brother enjoyed his reflexology but said it was a bit too much pressure. He was just afraid to speak up. The lady who worked on him also did his back too. Only thing was they did not knock before entering but they give you ample time to get out of your clothes and into the bed. Just be careful in case you take a while to get naked. After the massage, they give you a delicious warm cinnamon-y tea and one of those asian flavored jello cups...along with a hot towel. So I called a few days ago to set up a same day appointment, and I guess it was the owner that answered the phone (not 100% sure). The next thing I know, she's telling me that she needs a credit card to make the appointment! I'm thinking to myself...this is the first time EVER that anyone said I need a credit card to reserve my spot to make an appointment. So I told her where I live, and she estimated the time it would take to get there. She then asked if I still wanted the time, and I was like "uhhh..." because I didn't get over the fact that she asked me for my credit card number which I would never give out over the phone if she's going to write it down because I don't want anyone to get ahold of it and make fraudulent charges. Anyway it ended up being that she told me call her back when I make a decision what time I want to go in, and me saying "okay, thank you, goodbye." Many of the massage locations have roughly the same price range in this touristy area. There was something about this one, though. I love cute tiny locations. Similar to small food restaurants that are tucked away. Only after visiting, finding out they are gems! I had a massage with Naomi. She was super friendly right off the bat. Very professional. She was nothing but smiles. The way she massaged was good deep pressure =) Her hand movements were harmonic. I felt very relaxed. She knew how to knead out all my knots and melt the tenseness away. The owner, this adorable Korean lady, Soon, is a very good massage therapist too. She is also very welcoming and friendly. I've been looking around for a while now for a good massage place since my mom's working place took out the spa that use to be in their hotel . You'd never suspect it was in this building because it looks like an apartment. When I first walked in the lady greeted me with a nice smile. She had me fill out paper work and asked me a few questions just to get to know me which was very nice of her. She asked me what level of pressure I would want when she does the massage, if I wanted the oils, and definitely made sure if I was comfortable enough that I wasn't too cold and what not. Let me tell you...... omg I loved it. I felt so relaxed, so comfortable and so calmed throughout the whole massage. I was dozing on and off that I think I caught myself about to sore. Booked Couples Massage and got oil Swedish massage. I was very impressed by their customer service! We had Miyako-San and Rika-San. They were both very professional and obviously knew what they were doing! Miyako really took out the knots in my shoulder, neck, and forearm. You can request to mix massage treatments. I requested for Swedish + hand reflexology. After the service they kindly left us some snacks and tea and gave us some time to get collected before we had to leave. I had knots all over my back from traveling back and forth between Seattle and Honolulu, ask for the bare foot massage because it's a high pressure massage. It was wonderful and I slept like a baby last night. When you first arrive there, their awesome service begins with a drink.
