Sir Pizza is your basic small town pizza place with a knights & dragon theme played out on murals and decor inside the restaurants. The local chain offers pizza that is quite good - thin crust, balanced tomato sauce, right amount of cheese. On certain nights a pizza buffet feeds a family for a reasonable price. I enjoy the nostalgic feel of the place - it reminds me of being a kid of the 80's eating dinner at the local pizza place with my family. The salad bar is hit or miss, especially the one on Main street. I've seen fruit flies on the lettuce and pudding. One time I asked for the waitress to take the salad bar off my ticket after I saw the look of it. I've had a couple of miserable experiences with Sir Pizza delivery as well. Once the pizza was two hours late and the order not only cold but was incorrect. I had to refuse it (poor driver) and called to have the charge removed from my credit card. I enjoy the pizza enough, though, that I overlook a lot of the issues and just enjoy it for what it is - a family pizza joint with some service kinks, but worth it overall. read more

We thought this place did not meet the expectations for the price. The other night I accidentally ordered pizza around the same time my wife ordered pizza and we ended up with two pizzas the same night from two different places. Well unfortunate accident but great opportunity to review and compare both places. Our entire family agreed that the overpriced pizza from here did not have the extra cheese that we ordered and cost more and was thinner than the other pizza that was ordered. Oh yeah and Sir pizza cost $6.00 more for the same size pizza. Definitely nothing there worth the extra $6.00. I am sure you have a crowd that is for you, but when we know we can order pizza from somewhere else and get what we ask for, like extra cheese, with great taste and at a lower price we will choose that option. read more

GREAT people, but horrible food. We were hoping for greatness and instead we can't believe it has won awards. It made us question if the people voting have taste buds or if they're the type who think Red Lobster is fine dining. Sorry, it was really just awful. The cheese tasted like rotten feet, the pepperoni looks like a party pizza, and the sausage is horribly small and dry... Not to mention the clumps of flour under the crust. I use to work at the warehouse of sir pizza and I feel like people should know how the dough is made, where it was made, and the conditions of things. It is made in a small warehouse in Murfreesboro. The people who makes the dough wears no gloves and there have been plenty of times when I pulled hair out of the dough before having to pack it to be sent to the stores that need them. The workers get a smoke break in the middle but don't wash their hands afterwards when they go back to dealing with the dough. As for working there, it was a horrible experience because they give special treatment to certain people that work there. There was a lady I had to deal with that cursed me out, lied about me looking for her with a knife I carried with me for protection ( because I had to take two buses early in the morning and then walk a few blocks in the dark), and she has a pretty bad history there. No one likes her but the owner and manager keep her because they pity her life and what she has gone though. After a confrontation that ended with them trying to put all the blame on me even though she was the one cursing, throwing things, having attitudes, and more. Then the owner tried to make me apologize to her by telling me to be the bigger person and try to get along with her ( telling me that if i talk with her that it would.make her mood better) after they let her curse me out in front of them but then when I retaliated and cursed back at her, that is when they would try and stop the conversation. There are only two African Americans there which was me and another worker. I have learned that not only did she walk out 3 times and they called her back, but she also threatened to stab someone which made them quiet the job the next day. I wouldn't recommend no one to eat their pizza or work at the warehouse because if you end up having problems with her, the owners and the manager are gonna take her side using her sad home life story as an excuse of the reason she acts mean and rude. I had to deal with this for almost a month before I left and I missed the bus twice on purpose because I didn't feel like taking any more verbal abuse and mean glares from this women and I was nice to her from day one until I realized it would be best that I just didn't talk to her. Her and another ex coworker that came back also started complaining about me leaving early but the thing is that they never truly trained me on what all I had to do.all I knew is that we pack the dough, clean the dough room, do the dishes and then we are done. This was when the women was being nice to me and that is what she told me that is all that we had to do so I didn't know that there was more. I just felt the customers should know what they are consuming and where it is coming from. As for explaing my experience there, I don't want anyone to go though what I went though. I was there to work, not make friends and give a pity party to a person who made bad choices themselves as they grew up and be a human verbal punching bag for them all because they are not having the best life and using it as an excuse to yell at me for no reason and lie about me doing something that I know I would never do. So what every you do, if you see that sir pizza warehouse in Murfreesboro is hiring DONT TAKE IT! read more

As we enter the restaurant a member of the staff was taking trash out through the front door, super tacky. The pizza tasted like it had been bought from the frozen case at the Kroger down the street. I hate to do this but it's necessary. We ordered dinner, take-out to be specific. I got the Chicken Chefs Salad and 5 wings - bbq (with bleu cheese). I DO NOT RECOMMEND. 1. I ordered Italian dressing with the salad, 2 containers of dressing came with the salad - one was Italian (1/2 full), the other was thousand island 2. The chicken on the salad was DRY as can be - like couldn't even eat it, it was like chicken jerky 3. It's supposed to be garlic chicken - it had zero flavor to it 4. The wings weren't very saucy (though admittedly this could have been my fault for not asking for it) 5. The bleu cheese tastes like it has mayo mixed with it or some other non-flavorful, fatty substance (side note: Im from Buffalo and bleu cheese is absolutely better there) 6. We were looking for our new pizza place and thought that a local chain that had been around since 1965 would have to have something going for it. We arrived as a large party was leaving and the buffet bar contained remnants that looked like they'd been there a while. We ordered the buffet thinking that they would soon be restocking fresh pizzas. Twenty minutes went by and we had long finished our salads but there were no new pizzas and the old ones hadn't been touched. I asked the server how often they rotated the pizzas and she said that they didn't; pizzas would stay until they were gone. When she saw my shocked expression she back peddled and said that new pizzas would be out soon. Fifteen minutes later she said it would be up soon. Five minutes later they consolidated the nasty dry slices into one pan and added ONE new pizza. We ate a couple of slices and then went to pay. The manager wouldn't acknowledge our presence until another employee told her to. She said nothing to us and was very rude. Mind you, we had not been rude to our server and never spoke to the manager. I'm shocked to see the rave reviews, because our experience was horrible. read more

On July 17 I ordered pizza to be delivered a large pepperoni pizza, I have not had sir pizza in forever and it was wonderful! It was delivered to me in under 30 minutes and the people on the phone which were two guys and I'm sorry I did not get their namesThey were so nice and I was so impressed. I will order from them again and again! Bad food, worse service. Dirty inside, and grease tank was overflowing by back parking lot. Only 4 tables occupied, at noon. Ate buffet, and waitress never came by to take plates or fill drinks. Sir Pizza is addictive. There's none other like it anywhere in the world. The Main Street location seems to produce a much better pizza than the other locations and that says a lot considering that the other locations still serve great pizza. The quality of their employees oftentimes has the potential to ruin the experience. There are some excellent employees at this location, but I have also encountered employees who I wouldn't hire to walk my dog. It has been this way for years. Recently, one failed to turn in my take-out order and rather than apologizing and embracing accountability, he lied, became rude, and perpetuated the stereotype of an incompetent, ratty, & dishonest stoner-type pizza-guy. I wish the owners would spend a little more hiring employees that don't make me second guess the delicious pizza that's been a favorite for generations of Boro families. All that being said, any condescending college drop-out with questionable hygiene could make my Sir Pizza and I'd eat it. It is also worth mentioning that, for a pizza place, it's quite expensive. To me, it's worth paying more for a pizza that tastes so good. However, I can imagine there are many families with chunky, gadget-using, kids unable to justify springing for Sir Pizza. Unusually interesting to me is that the decor remains dark, dingy, and ratty but somehow it undoubtedly adds to the Sir Pizza experience. I wouldn't have it any other way. Do not listen to the naysayers who claim that they had a bad experience at this establishment; has your steak never come out under- or over-cooked at Logan's Roadhouse? Has Chili's never disappointed you with their lackluster service? Get a grip folks, and hold onto your chairs because I'm about to learn you a thing about Sir Pizza. Not only is this pizza place a staple in my fondest childhood memories; it is an establishment that recently celebrated 50 YEARS of serving Murfreesboro and its citizens. If you read certain reviews that say the decorum is "played out" or "hackneyed"; guess what? This building has been around longer than most of the idiots negatively reviewing this restaurant have been alive. Is it the 'hippest' or 'most happening' place in the boro? No. If you sit in a few select booths will you find 50 years of inscriptions carved into the benches and paneling? Absolutely.
