Dropped by after dinner at Ruth Chris steakhouse to check out what they had. Besides coffee, they did have sandwiches , parfait and other ready to go meals on the left side of the entrance. We decided to try their gelato and the flavors they had was vanilla, coconut, strawberry, peach and chocolate. One scoop was about $6.99. Strawberry gelato was okay but not addicting. I shared with my wife but she only had a taste so it was left to me to finish. Sips in the Silver Legacy was great! I went two mornings in a row and had honestly one of the best coffees I've had in awhile, the Dark Chocolate Mocha. I also tried a chocolate croissant.... So good! Stuffed with chocolate! The display case had a huge selection of baked goods, and there were also pre done sandwiches, fruit and salads. The woman taking my order was so kind (same person each morning). She was very nice to all of the customers even while working hard on making drinks. I recently stopped by this Sips Coffee and Tea, which is located inside the casinos on The Row. $6 is more than I would normally pay for an Italian soda, but, when I'm not drinking and I'm surrounded by alcohol, I'm willing to pay a little more for something good. I ordered a large Italian cream soda with cherry and Raspberry, with very light ice. They didn't have Torani, but had a comparable line of syrups which looked Italian. The flavor was perfect. Not too sweet, but also not too soda-water flavored. It's hard to get the balance just right. They poured the cream over the ice so that it sat on its own upper layer, the way it's supposed to. The staff was friendly and patient even though I asked a bunch of questions and asked for more than one flavor. This was the best Italian soda I've had in a while. I got their equivalent of a white chocolate mocha, and at just pennies over $6 for a large it was great! (Paid almost $10 early that morning at a Starbucks downstairs for same, so there is that to consider!). Coffee here is not that good. You should check if the Starbucks across on the other side of the hotel is open. The hotel coffee is the same throughout their restaurants too. We were on our way for a hike in Tahoe and wanted to pick up sandwiches. Sips was the closest cafe to us so we chose to do the grab n' go thing. Purchased 6 sandwiches from their cold case (two ham sandwiches, two turkey sandwiches, and two chicken salad croissant sandwiches) and two big chocolate chip cookies that came out to $55 including gratuity. That's pretty expensive but this cafe is in a hotel so I guess that's what we should've expected. The sandwiches are served completely dry so you have to ask for mayo and mustard packets at the register. This place also sells pastries, coffee of all kinds, breakfast bagels, cake slices, and ice cream. It's not the best choice around town but it works if you're looking to pick up something quickly on your way in or out of the hotel. read more

We were here a couple of weeks ago for a wedding, and the bride and groom (my brother), and our family were all staying at this hotel. Check-in was nothing short of a dumpster fire for the first 40 minutes, until the manager came out/got involved. Make sure when you make a reservation, you put names on the room of whomever is with you - there was massive confusion around me not having the same name as my husband (we both have the same address, as printed on my license), but that wasn't enough. We had to cxl and rebook under my name, add his name, and the next day at breakfast there was still confusion/he wasn't able to charge something to the room. It's 2023. Not everyone has the same last name. Figure. It. Out. Our room was ok, and will note that everything was clean. However, I feel this hotel overall needs a major refresh. Some paint, carpets etc. - a lot of the restaurants have gone out that were here. The casino itself has a lot of games and slot machines, as well as a couple of great bars. I also like that this hotel is part of the row shuttle from the airport, which is free, and comes every half hour. All of that said - stay somewhere else, come and gamble/drink/hang out here, and go back to your hotel. read more

Right when I got out of the elevator from our rooms, this place was starring me down. Wanted a snack, so I came in. The guy working here was really friendly and made the experience a very pleasant one. I ended up with the key lime tart which was really good. A little pricey, but good. While passing through Reno, this is the place I like to stay. Mostly for the historical old wild west feeling and the rooms tend to be clean and the service is good. Also, the café is nice however the resort fee always at least doubles the advertised price. It's irritating. Why don't they just put up from what the room actually costs? read more

Came here to see Anjelah Johnson and had such a great time. I don't gamble and I loved how this hotel had an arcade. I had so much fun at the arcade. Great games to play. As usual I was excited to come to this place. Today I went and as one who is allergic to cinnamon, I asked one of the staff if the cheesecake had any cinnamon. He said no and that was their only cheesecake option. I kindly let him know I was only asking because I am allergic to cinnamon. I felt he was rude and didn't let me finish. Glad there was another worker who was listening to my concern. She was on the phone and let us know that there was in fact cinnamon. I'm so glad that she was there or I would have ended up in the ER. My wife and I drove up from the Bay Area to watch a show . The show was fantastic however the facility was less than desirable. Won't do another event here. Felt like I was in a cancer can. Imagine a cigarette butt hotel. The last casino I stayed in was the cosmopolitan in Vegas as my point of comparison. Drinks were poor for the price and food was expensive for the quality. Friendly and engaging with the customers. Lacey my host is the best. Anything I need he tries to accommodate. These two are the reason I choose to come and spend my money here. This little coffee shop is located in the Circus Circus on the main floor, just as you enter from valet and close to the front desk. It is nice to see a coffee shop go in, and not a Starbucks. This coffee shop has a couple of tables, and a full display case of danishes and fresh fruit. They make all of the coffee favorites, espresso, lattes, cappachino, Americano, and a macchiato. Small coffee shop inside the Silver Legacy adjacent to the front desk check-in area, across from the elevators to guest rooms. They offer many similar items you'd expect to find in your local Starbucks. I'm a "Red Eye" fan (house coffee with a shot of expresso), and Sips didn't disappoint. Shop was clean and friendly baristas made the java experience all the better. Very convenient for guests as they get off the elevator. read more

Word of warning: This review is based only on a single product, and not the overall place. However, the experience was memorable enough to review. I ordered hot water. That's all I did. I just needed a cup of hot water to make some tea. Most places like Starbucks have pretty crappy tea, so I tend to bring my own and just ask for a cup of hot water. Never have I had to pay for one, until now. Sure it cost me just 75 cents, and most people reading this will think I'm the cheapest Jew in the world, but it's the mentality that's important here. I understand that the cost is probably not for the water, but for the cup. However, this place is bustling with people needing their coffee fix for a day full of gambling. I'm sure they make enough money that they can just not bother charging for a cup of hot water. Having said that, the workers here are pretty nice, people seem to enjoy it, and the only time it's closed is 3-4 am. Perfect for the late night gamblers or the early risers. I just wish they were like any other normal coffee place and wouldn't charge for water. read more
