This is a nice cozy little place right off route 9 in Wellesley, MA. The various Indian aromas hits you as soon as you open the door and walk down into the cafe. There are some nice decor as you enter and the dining room is pretty open and spacious. Staff was friendly in greeting us and getting us seated. The 4 of us chose the weekend buffet. The waiter brought us a plate of naan to share...you can choose the flavor...we went with garlic. It was cooked perfectly and its nice to have it fresh and warm! The buffet offerings look small, but there is a good enough variety. From appetizers to main course and desserts, I didn't feel like it was not enough. The sizzling plate of chicken was good. It was fresh and not chewy or anything. The goat curry was good and the chicken tikka was ok. I really liked their american style onion rings...it was a hidden/surprising gem. One thing to note, Indian food is usually on the spicy side and I'll give this place a spicy level of 3 or 4 out of 10. Mind you, I can take quite a bit of heat. Might be a great place to break in younger people who are not yet able to eat full on spice from places like godavari in Woburn. Pricing is reasonable for the selection. Ample street parking outside with parking meters.

Ate here for a lunch buffet. Great options. Loved the rice, chicken tikka masala, samosa, garlic naan and shrimp.

Our go-to place for Indian food. They do a huge take-out business and there's a reason why - it's delicious. Sam always takes great care of us (we don't like it spicy)! Yum.

We ordered the kali-mirch ke tikke(pepper chicken appetizer), malai kofta and naans. They didnt ask and we forgot to tell, but we got the "mild" versions of the food, a bit of a spoiler. The food was good, a spicier version might have been better. A bit pricey though, compared to other indian restaurants. The service was great. They gave us complementary soups while we waited for our takeout order. Will try them out again!

Been here a few times over a span of a couple years and finally came to doing a review after a recent visit. We've always been able to get seating as soon as we walk in. Not too familiar with Indian food, so a lot of this review is my friend's opinion! This time, our party of 2 ordered: Vegetable Chaat: 3/5 we weren't too fond of this. It's served cold and lacked flavor. Nice array of chopped veggies though. Chicken Tikka Masala: 3/5 i always order this from here, and this time we found it too sweet for our liking. We always get medium spice and it's just right for us. Can't imagine how spicy the spicy level is haha. Garlic Naan: 5/5 generous portion, hot and fresh, great texture Gulab Jamun: 5/5 sooo delicious. Comes with 3. It's such a tasty dessert and must-try! The food itself is a 3/5 but I give an extra star for the excellent service. The staff here is always friendly and efficient. Also, they always bring out complimentary soup. A staple restaurant in the neighborhood.

The chicken momo's were delicious. Biryani was a little oily but tasted great. Highly recommend both these dishes.

Personally it's bit too oily for my diet so I don't go back often but if I want to have lunch with a friend why not! It's nice vib inside.

Aside from the fact that they are located in the basement of a building, they have a tasty, reasonably priced lunch buffet.

My family and I was craving Indian food today and one of our Indian friends recommended this (new…read moreto us) place in Watertown (near/behind the Lexus dealership). It was convenient to get to with plenty of parking up front. Its about 5 minutes from Arsenal Yards. The restaurant looks pretty modern and trendy, with several tables on the side for dining in. I was promptly greeted upon entry with a smile. Picking up my takeout order was easy and quick. Food was packaged well and secure - important for this cuisine as you don't want to lose any of the sauces! The food portions are really good and pricing is pretty reasonable given the times, and pricing of similar restaurants in the area. More importantly, the quality and tastes of the food was exquisite! Good Indian food takes time and care in preparation to ensure the flavors are balanced with properly prepared ingredients. The texture of the meats and veggies were spot-on, with great balance in flavor. It wasn't overbearing and I think their flavors are flexible enough to cater to most palates. The chicken 65 was surprisingly not soggy, given this was take out. The butter chicken was so creamy with generous chicken pieces that were tender but not falling apart. The chicken tikka had great flavors and similarly well prepared chicken pieces. The garlic naan was actually flavorful, and is very evidently crafted onsite vs mass produced. The chicken biriyani was probably the standout dish. It was prepared with fluffy basmati rice with a great blend of spices (and color) and tender chicken pieces. I liked that the onions for some of the dishes were large cut and easily removed, as not everyone in the family likes onions. The only critique for the place is that there were no paper menus for old heads like myself that still prefers to look over it prior to ordering. Luckily, the online ordering experience was simple and straight forward. I created a Toast account in the process and hope it will be even easier going forward. You can even specify the spice level for most dishes. Overall, Chennai Eats is a wonderful addition to the local community. The place is clean, the food is tasty and a family could get full and happy without breaking the bank. I look forward to trying this place again, and exploring some of their other offerings. I'm also glad to have found a closer alternative to quality Indian food, vs going all the way out to Godavari.

Ghee Masala Dosa (7.5/10): Also my first time having dosas, so it's hard for me to judge how good they are relatively. Nonetheless, they were super tasty! I loved the ghee flavor. Texture was great. Masala filling was pretty good, but I think any other filling would have been fine as well. Chicken 65 (9.5/10): FANTASTIC. The chicken was oh so tender while also being fried to perfection. I have not had this kind of fried chicken from an Indian restaurant before. Flavors were also on point with just a hint of spicy. Butter Chicken (9/10): Delicious!! Great balance of flavors. Chicken was tender. Service was good. Prices are very fair, either average or below average. We'll definitely be back!!!
