    Chicken Tikka Masala

Went here before bowling nearby and great Indian restaurant. Had the buffet and while not huge options, there is vegetarian and meat. I loved the garlic naan we ordered and the chicken tikka masala

    Tandoori grill

I went during lunchtime with my colleagues and they had a buffet. The buffet had a couple options but wasn't very extensive. I ended up ordering the tandoori mix grill, the shrimp was pretty good in it. I also got a chai and didn't really enjoy it. Maybe because I am Indian, I expected the food to be a bit more authentic. My colleagues who did the buffet didn't really enjoy the food, it wasn't spicy enough. At the end we asked to have split checks and the staff gave us a single check and told us to split it ourselves. The place was clean and spacious. It didn't meet my expectations so I probably won't go back.

No one can beat Masala Art in creativity. Their Gobi Gulistan and Lychee panner have made us celebrate our special occasions there for over a decade.

    Butter chicken with bone fragments

My carryout order number tonight was #35. I ordered butter chicken, tikka masala, and naan. I specified that the order be ready for pickup at 5:45. When I arrived at 5:40 the food was already cold after having been completed long before that. In the butter chicken, there were at least two chicken bones that were sharp and small and found while biting down. You should know that whoever did the pulling/shredding of the chicken was careless and could've caused serious injury. As for the food being cold, if it's going to be prepared much faster than requested, you really should call the customer to let them know. Personally, I will never be ordering from this restaurant again. For the price paid, ($24 for 12oz of chicken but mostly sauce), this food was mall food court level quality taste. I tried searching diligently for over half an hour for a functional email or contact us portal but those are broken and there is no way to leave a private review or I would've done so. I'm hoping you are able to fix these issues so that I'm the last customer who has this experience.

Naan with butter, garlic Naan, chicken korma, shrimp saag, rice, and lamb dish

The food was tasty but maybe a little too salty. Naan was very good; we ordered plain Naan with butter and Naan with garlic. Curry in chicken korma was very flavorful. The shrimp saag was a little spicy but yummy; the tails of the shrimp are still attached, fyi.

I came…read morehere recently for the first time when I heard that they were serving some of Walnut Grille's most beloved items. We started the meal with Gobi Manchurian, which was always a standout item and still very much is. I am obsessed with the tangy sauce in the perfectly crisp, well battered and fried cauliflower. We also got some pakoras, which were just as wonderful in taste and texture. The lentil soup was well seasoned and well spiced and very hearty. The dosa was a winner in its lovely flavor, but sadly lacked in not having enough filling. I also really enjoyed the yogi bowl in having very fresh and tasty veggies with wonderful sauces and a marinated tofu. The presentation was elegant. The restaurant itself had a great vibe and very little felt different from Walnut Grille. There are a variety of tables and booths to choose from. The service was friendly even though it was on the slower side. I was bummed they didn't have any vegan desserts available, despite it being listed on the menu. Parking is very easy in the attached lot behind the restaurant.

There is a wide variety of curries, tandoori items, hot & fluffy naan, and plenty of vegetarian options. Portions are generous (honestly, consider sharing an entrée), and, as expected, loads of flavor. I can't say enough about the service. The guys are warm and very welcoming. They're very attentive about refilling water, clearing plates, checking in to see how your meal is doing, etc. If you're there during the buffet, they keep it well stocked even during the busier times. As for the restaurant ambiance, it is on the backside of Newton Center, so it is a bit calmer, despite being right by the entrance to the T. The restaurant is actually below street level, but it's still bright, full of color, and has a lot of Indian artwork throughout. During the warmer months, they have outdoor dining. Service & food remains stellar whether indoor or outdoor. I definitely recommend House of Tandoor. Great food, super welcoming staff, and it doesn't break the bank!

My family and I was craving Indian food today and one of our Indian friends recommended this (new…read moreto us) place in Watertown (near/behind the Lexus dealership). It was convenient to get to with plenty of parking up front. Its about 5 minutes from Arsenal Yards. The restaurant looks pretty modern and trendy, with several tables on the side for dining in. I was promptly greeted upon entry with a smile. Picking up my takeout order was easy and quick. Food was packaged well and secure - important for this cuisine as you don't want to lose any of the sauces! The food portions are really good and pricing is pretty reasonable given the times, and pricing of similar restaurants in the area. More importantly, the quality and tastes of the food was exquisite! Good Indian food takes time and care in preparation to ensure the flavors are balanced with properly prepared ingredients. The texture of the meats and veggies were spot-on, with great balance in flavor. It wasn't overbearing and I think their flavors are flexible enough to cater to most palates. The chicken 65 was surprisingly not soggy, given this was take out. The butter chicken was so creamy with generous chicken pieces that were tender but not falling apart. The chicken tikka had great flavors and similarly well prepared chicken pieces. The garlic naan was actually flavorful, and is very evidently crafted onsite vs mass produced. The chicken biriyani was probably the standout dish. It was prepared with fluffy basmati rice with a great blend of spices (and color) and tender chicken pieces. I liked that the onions for some of the dishes were large cut and easily removed, as not everyone in the family likes onions. The only critique for the place is that there were no paper menus for old heads like myself that still prefers to look over it prior to ordering. Luckily, the online ordering experience was simple and straight forward. I created a Toast account in the process and hope it will be even easier going forward. You can even specify the spice level for most dishes. Overall, Chennai Eats is a wonderful addition to the local community. The place is clean, the food is tasty and a family could get full and happy without breaking the bank. I look forward to trying this place again, and exploring some of their other offerings. I'm also glad to have found a closer alternative to quality Indian food, vs going all the way out to Godavari.

I have not had this kind of fried chicken from an Indian restaurant before. Flavors were also on point with just a hint of spicy. Butter Chicken (9/10): Delicious!! Great balance of flavors.
