We stopped here on the way to the airport and were immediately amazed with the customer service. John and Brady were phenomenal. We ordered the small Italian club with Chicken cutlet and the Vittorio. We also got a large Muffaletta with the olive salad on the side, pesto chips, mixed pickled veggies salad and a cannoli. We wanted to change since we were going to the airport so we had to use the restroom. That's where we encountered John. He is such a lovely man. He was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversation. My sister was throughly impressed with Brady's customer service. He made her feel at home and was very friendly. All of our food was good. They devoured the veggie salad on the car ride to the airport and we ate some of the sandwiches too. The portions are big and you can share. The 3 sandwiches we got were plenty for our family of 6 plus leftovers. Rossi Rosticceria Deli 45 S Clover St Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Review 50 in 2025 and 893 overall)

It is located on a back street with not much activity, and I was able to find parking quickly, which is key when you are on a work break. As soon as I walked in, the smells and sights of an authentic Italian deli were exactly what you hope for. There is a menu with plenty to choose from and a pastry case that I already know I will be coming back to try next time. I went with the Blue Ribbon panini, and in about ten minutes I had a hefty sandwich wrapped and ready to go. When I sat down to eat and picked it up, it did not disappoint. Chicken cutlet, ham, honey mustard, roasted tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and great bread. Everything blended together perfectly. On the first bite, the chicken cutlet burned my mouth in the best way possible. The tomatoes and honey mustard tied it all together and made it incredibly satisfying. I could only eat half because it was such a heavy sandwich. My dad finished the other half and shared the same appreciation for a really good panini. The next time I am working nearby, I know exactly where I am going, and I will definitely be trying the cannoli and the black and white cookies. 5 out of 5 stars.

We visited on the Friday before V-day, the house was packed around 18:30. The wait was 45 mins which wasn't too bad for a Friday night. We decided to wait in the lobby after trying to find a cozy waiting spot near the bar and missing. My wife attempted to order me a mocktail, but of course the bar was crazy busy. When the bartender finally acknowledged her, the mocktail requests obviously threw the bartender for a loop because I ended up with watered down ginger beer and a sprig of mint. My advice for anyone looking for a virgin drink at this bar would be to order a club soda with lime and call it a night. We were seated at the 45 min mark, and were escorted to the packed bar, where they have some exterior tables for diners. My seat was in the middle of the couch split, which I found mighty uncomfortable so we opted to request a seat in the main dining room, which the staff happily obliged. With dinner we ordered hot tea and were given lukewarm water and a choice of Stash teas. Our beverage experience here was very disappointing. The calamari arrived and may have been the only highlight, although we didn't find it to have that fresh calamari texture. My wife ordered a ravioli with mushroom, and felt the pasta and veggies were just swimming in butter. I ordered my steak medium and it was okay, but the juices from the greens made the croquettes soggy, and unenjoyable. The server did his best, and all the staff here are so kind. Coulda been an off night but I doubt we'll be back anytime soon. The Mocktail Madam.

Vassar students really seem to enjoy…read morethe international flavors offered here, as it's a good alternative to the bland food you find in the dining halls and elsewhere around town. I particularly enjoyed the Vassar noodle bowl, which featured chewy noodles in a coconut milk curry sauce (allegedly Malaysian, more Malaysian "inspired") with BBQ pulled pork on top!! I would never have thought to combine these two ingredients, but they work beautifully together. It's a very warm and comforting dish, and the mint, cilantro, and radish garnish helps provide a bit of contrast. I liked the sour cream drizzle on top, too. I feel like this dish could really be fantastic if they adjusted the thickness and amount of curry sauce (the noodles are swimming in it like a soup) and provided more herbs and radishes on top. It could also benefit from a crispy topping to provide textural contrast. I've had other things from here that I've liked, but that weren't anything special. Like the Malaysian curry, their chicken tikka masala sauce also has a very runny texture, instead of the thicker richer sauces I've had elsewhere. And their bao buns are honestly not worth buying, since they have no hoisin sauce or creamy aioli/slaw element that binds together the rather dry meat, pickle slices, and scallions in each bun. They seem to exclusively be a grab and go kind of place, which makes sense to me as it's in a college town. Inside it's small and rather bleak, without any kind of decoration and not much seating. They take a pretty long time to prepare orders too, so plan ahead in case you're in a hurry.

Seating inside is very limited the employees are friendly. The noodle bowl was very good but a little small but the curry wasn't too spicy and had a nice coconut cream relief. The braised porky belly rice bowl was a nice portion but the sauce was a little over bearing. Could've used a little more of the nuts to give it a better texture. The bao buns were very good. Nice fluffy warm buns and packed with the pulled pork. We also got the Thai tea and lavender lemonade. Lemonade was amazing it had chia seeds in it. The Thai tea was okay. It was way too creamy to the point it was white and I couldn't really taste the tea that much. I'm not from the area but if I ever came back maybe I would try something different from the menu

We had an incredible dining experience so we knew the next day, the wedding day, that the food would be delicious. First and foremost, the venue itself is stunning - featuring gorgeous marbling and chandeliers, in addition to a beautiful balcony type area outside - where the reception was held, in addition to ample seating and great photo ops with the bridge over the water. The food at cocktail hour was exceptional. Our bride and groom had a carving station, pasha station and crudite in addition to passed hors d'oeuvres. My favorites were the mini tacos - so fresh - with a margarita shot, the coconut shrimp, the penne vodka and the sushi! The venue where the reception was, was stunning! It was connected to the same room we had the cocktail hour, featuring a beautiful stone backdrop wall, a huge marble dance floor and gorgeous oval tables. The venue was stunning, the servers and wait staff were so incredibly friendly, hospital and accommodating and the food was delicious! Toning down the color scheme and upgrading the finishes lends the space to a multitude of tastes and purposes from corporate gatherings to private social affairs. The staff was attentive, but would benefit from a team briefing about the menu and ingredients. I spent decades in hospitality management and understand the benefit of staff tastings before serving. That practice elevates the experience for attendees by assuring that the staff is well-versed on the ingredients and preparation before they interact with guests. For example, readers of my reviews understand that I have food, allergies. It's important for me to be discreet about asking what ingredients are used in the preparation at a past hors d'oeuvres event. On two occasions within the same half hour, I asked the server if there were any alliums used in the preparation. They did not know what alliums were so I explained that garlic and onion family is something I was not able to eat safely. Both times, the server did not know what ingredients were used and offered to check with the kitchen. That's a great back up plan but unfortunately, that server never returned to me, presumably he was intercepted along the way by other guest who wanted to sample what was on his tray Preparing the staff in advance of an event is crucial. This was the only failure that I could see. My experience would have been elevated to four stars had the servers been better trained. The view and tasteful renovations resulted in the additional star for a total of four stars.

PARKING: Enough parking for the time of day I was there…read morewhich was after normal lunch and before the supper crowd. This is the first time I've been in this deli so I didn't know what to expect. The staff is very friendly. IMPORTED STAPLES: The shelves are a bit bare, but they did have some Large canned peppers ($6.99), and tomato products from Italy, fresh Italian bread, and a well stocked freezer. SPECIALS: The special sandwich of the day was fried fish on a round roll. (It's Friday and Lenten season so I opted to keep my mama happy.) GOOD CHOICE: While they were preparing that I shopped a bit for some Italian provisions. Olive oil from Sicily and another cold pressed single origin. MY PURCHASES: two nice olive oils from Italy, a commercial sized can of fire roasted peppers for my pan pantry, two packs of REAL philo dough ( $3.99! Yay), mozzarella, 1/2 lb of sliced roast beef, and a beautiful sandwich. What they lack in ambience they made up for in flavors. The bill of about $68, the smiles were gratis. BTW The fried scrod sandwich was about $11 and well worth it. My pet peeve is when sandwiches have shredded lettuce and instead of a whole lettuce leaf. My fault I'm sure they would've given me the whole Leaf if I had asked. As you'll see in the photograph, the fish fillet was generously portioned, dusted with Italian breadcrumbs and deep fried - not greasy at all. It was very light and flavorful, the round roll was fresh and the perfect vessel for this sandwich. I would definitely consider returning there again if I'm in the neighborhood .
