Brothers Barbecue - Brothers Cheese Fries with a side of baked beans

Brothers Barbecue

I've eaten at Brothers BBQ a handful of times and I feel confident enough at this point to tell you…read moreabout it. Now this is just my opinion, so don't get crazy. Compared to other bbq in the area, I believe Brothers is a winner. The food quality is great, and techniques of prep and cooking are perfectly mastered. The brisket has a flavorful crust and it breaks apart with a fork. The baked beans have all the right stuff to make them excellent. Baked Mac and cheese is BAKED. The chicken falls off the bone and smoked perfectly. Candied yams are perfect and you can actually taste the butter that you're SUPPOSED to bake into it, (they're the only ones who make it right) in my opinion. We ordered an appetizer of "burnt bacon ends", and so much flavor, and fall apart with a fork. The cocktails were potent, so beware . Did I say enough about the food? Even the service was great. One of the owners even swung by to see if we needed anything. If you haven't already gone, go. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere, and sometimes has live entertainment. You'll love it.

Didn't have to wait long for food. Make sure they bring your cornbread. That was sweet and hot. Got the brisket nachos and the pulled pork sandwich with candied yams. Brisket was very tender and sweet. Very tasty. The pulled pork was moist. The yams were cooked perfectly, nice and soft. It has a very comfy feel with lots of cute decorations. Feels like a warm ski lodge.

Rio is without a doubt the kindest, most loving, artist we have ever had the pleasure of meeting and then when you taste his craft...you can die happy! My husband and I had the honor of having Rio create, and execute our once in a lifetime wedding menu. From the start, Rio's first concern was us (my husband and I) where we were from, what we like, who we were as individuals and as a couple. And he created the most beautiful menu with us as the inspiration. Completely custom. Rio did our Rehearsal dinner, wedding and brunch the following morning, ALL farm-to-table!. I have attached pictures of all of our menus as well as photos from the wedding for all or you review. Not only did all of our friends and family leave our wedding saying that "it was not only the best wedding food that they had ever had, but some of the best food of their LIVES." My brother in-law refuses to eat a short-rib ever again because it will never TOUCH Rio's. I truly could go on and on about the food, its beauty and all of the love and care that goes into it, but it has a lot to do with the individual(s) behind it! Rio and his team are kind, compassionate, FUN, filled with class, love, an eye for beauty, and a mind for a good time! When you work with Rio you are truly working with someone who ACTUALLY gives a damn! He was so instrumental and so helpful through the whole wedding process, even sending me photos of tables that some of his past brides had done, sharing his thoughts and ideas as to how to make our wedding unique. We love him so much! He even made sure to come and dance with me! I am for certain that this review is most likely all over the place and my excuse is that Rio, his team, his talent and everything about him is so fantastic, so memorable, SO DELECIOUS, it is nearly impossible to explain and should just be experienced! He will be a part of our family forever!

My wife is a chef, with pretty significant dietary restrictions, but Rio made it so easy to confidently hand the reins over to him. We had an incredible family style meal with vegan and carnivorous options for our 30 closest friends and family. The food was fantastic, the service was seamless, and Rio made the entire process completely painless. You can hire Rio to feed your favorite people and know that all you have to tell him is how happy you want to make everyone, and he'll make it happen.

Pros: We chose Natasha for a small family party to celebrate our wedding this spring. We went with…read moreher mainly because she was the first/only chef to begin our conversation by asking us what WE had in mind and letting that be the foundation for building the menu. She seemed eager to help us realize our vision rather than impose someone else's onto us. There are also four other people on the IBN team: the sous chef, whose name I forget; the bartender, for whom the same is true (maybe Aaron or Erin), and two servers: Mason and Spencer. These folks did an AMAZING job and we were both so grateful for their kindness and professionalism on the day of the event. Finally, I liked what I ate! I was happy with my day-of meal. Cons: Natasha was incredibly rude to both me and my husband in the weeks leading up to the post-wedding party. I had only spoken to her twice before the party: once when I hired her and again in February. She'd said in February that we could have a third and final call two weeks before the event. When I emailed her three weeks before the event to schedule this final call, she sounded irritated and said we'd spoken "a few days ago" (we had not; I even asked some relatives in case someone else had, but no) and she wanted to "stick to the plan" of having a call at a date a time to which we had not agreed--- only *five* days before the party. My husband reminded her that she'd said we could talk two weeks before and she eventually, reluctantly scheduled a call with us. When we call at the date and time she told us to, she does not pick up; instead, she texts us that she's in the middle of an event. All of these things are perfectly normal, human mistakes. We all get clients confused and talk to one as though they are another (like the "a few days ago" thing). We all overbook ourselves every once in a while and are unavailable after telling someone we would be. A professional would have simply apologized; instead, after I used *one sentence* of an email to express my disappointment about the missed call--- because my husband had taken off work to be available for it, so lost money for no reason--she used this as an excuse to threaten not to show up. Said she needed us to "confirm" in light of my "tone." In light of this, I decided not to speak to this person anymore unless absolutely necessary (i.e. at the party, for the sake of our guests). My husband took over talking to her, at which point we had a fun little role-reversal in which he was now the one reporting to me on a regular basis how rude Natasha was being to him. So at least I know it wasn't personal! Conclusion: If you just need to place a big food order and don't need to talk to the chef again after that, you can go with IBN and you'll probably be fine. If, however, you are planning an event of great importance to you--or just don't want to risk being treated like a burden for wanting to speak more than once with someone you're employing-- maybe look elsewhere.

Natasha is an amazing chef! She was with us for a full day cooking brunch and dinner for my family…read moreof 8 adults for my son's first birthday party in Saugerties, NY. Everything she prepared was super delicious and everyone loved it. She was also really easy going and a pleasure to be around. The lead up to our event day was super organized, she was very responsive and easy to work with and even had to deal with our last minute change of location and an oven that was barely working (which she didn't let impact the menu or quality of the food at all!). Highly recommend and we'll certainly be calling her again the next time we're in the area.
