Christos catering could not have given us a better night. The old Saint Francis hospital employees got together with over 240 attendees at Christos catering in April 2024. The food was exquisite by chef Christos. The room was decorated beautifully, and the owners made sure that everything was perfect for us. Five stars isn't enough stars, Christo's should get a million stars. Working with Christo was wonderful all we had to do is let him know what food we wanted and everything was taken care of. Christos even worked with us on special kosher foods for an interfaith wedding. The staff was great wish we could have spent more time there as they felt like family. Our guests loved the food and went up for 2nds and 3rds on a buffet. They loved that it was the funniest best organized wedding they have ever been to, we just showed up and improvised with what Christos gave us. Christo"s policy is come try the food yourself in the restaurant and you can order want you want. Price is perfectly in line with everywhere else even better because it was all inclusive with no extras!! We loved this place! read more

Went to my wife's 30th HS reunion here. All of us could not believe how hideous the food was at the event. Plenty of food just all of it absolute garbage, left the event hungry. My wife thought she had food poisoning. Our friends remarked how terrible the food was when we met for brunch the next day. Unbelievably bad. Veal was burnt, the beef was soggy and like rubber, the salmon was inedible, the chicken masala was like plastic. Oh the wine was terrible as well and the beer selection is a joke and nothing on tap. read more

I struggled with the rating on this one. I went back and forth from 3 to 4 stars. Ultimately I decided that it was a 3.7 star place, and I had only been there for lunch buffets, so I couldn't justify giving it 3 stars since I didn't order a la carte. Christo's is a restaurant on a golf course. There are large windows looking out over the greens and it is all very beautiful and relaxing. The ambiance is nice, and the servers are very polite and the whole place has a 'high-end' country club feel. However the place never has that many people in it. I have to admit, I have only been there during the week, at lunchtime, for buffets, so I guess my experience is limited. The food at the lunch buffet is good, for sure, but not knock-your-socks-off great. I would go again, there's really nothing wrong with this place, but it would be great if the food in the lunch buffet were a little higher quality. read more

Daughter had her wedding there this past weekend. I could only say it was probably the best dinner at a wedding reception I've ever had. My wife and I were invited to a reception earlier this year at an exclusive Westchester Country Club, at over $250 a head and the food wasn't half as good. A negative review here mentioned the lack of food that could very well have been the bride and groom's choice because my wife said something to our daughter about something and she said that's what we wanted. And also the cheese that was there was absolutely delicious and Gourmet. The bartenders were quick and efficient the owner was there the whole night keep an eye on everything. Christo's. I'm a bit hesitant to review this because I haven't been back in 10 years or so. One of my work buddies always swore by the lunch buffet, so he'd drag me there from time to time. There were a lot of choices and the price was reasonable - a little too reasonable - and the food tasted okay though often overcooked and VERY heavy (cream sauces and the like), but here's my problem. (And I fully realize this problem may have been with a previous chef.) One day for lunch, we had our normal buffet lunch and then dessert came out and it was pre-cut sheet cake and I thought - huh, who serves sheet cake at a lunch buffet? And then, huh...could this sheet cake be left over from a wedding last weekend? I couldn't prove it, but it looked very shabby. Then I started thinking about the rest of the buffet and that was the last time I went to Christo's. And if I ever did go back, I resolved to only order from the menu. I may be wrong. BEWARE! We do got recommend this venue for your wedding or special event. We signed a contract in 2020 for a wedding in 2021. Three weeks before the wedding, we were supposed to have a meeting there to go over everything. However, Chris decided to cancel it last minute bc he didn't want to pass up business on the golf course for a bachelor party. His words. When the new meeting occurred, at the end of the long meeting, he decided to casually throw in that he was raising our prices $10pp. We were shocked and explained that he couldn't do that, as we had a signed legal contract. He said if we didn't comply, he would serve low grade frozen food, basically admitting we would regret it. When I asked him to put this in writing bc all trust was then broken, he, being the condescending egotistical man he is, said he didn't want to do the wedding anymore anyways, refused to put his new demands in writing, and cancelled the wedding. I have it all on text message! Three weeks out!!! Long story short, we had the most amazing wedding elsewhere on the same date and this was a huge blessing in disguise as the new venue was MUCH BETTER! Thanks for doing us the biggest favor Chris! We heard you are selling or closing your doors and wish you the best! Covid affected everyone-not just you-but you handled yourself very unprofessionally. Shame on you! read more

I was here for a Dutchess County Chamber of Commerce networking event. I can't speak on the food because it was a morning event but I will eat here very soon. It's a pretty establishment and there was a very nice spread for the chamber members. Very roomy and I imagine there are a lot of weddings held here. I have had lunch at this buffet two times this 2015 fall season. For me, it has been one of the very best lunch experiences in the Poughkeepsie area. The food is always delish with a wonderful selection. The salads always contains lovely combinations which are fresh and appealing. The mains are varied and scrumptious... NOT your usual buffet fare. Second time I've been here, once for a luncheon and once for a dinner. The food was tasteless & mediocre at best. I barely ate anything, just wasn't worth the calories. We just experienced our daughters wedding at Christos Catering yesterday .. what an amazing experience the food was incredibly delicious .. every thing was taken care of to perfection... Everyone commented on the food and were pleased with the experience .. the rooms were beautiful ... everyone enjoyed themselves .. too hard to explain.. all servers were wonderful and it is a family run catering business .. but more than a restaurant their family taking care or our family!!!!!! .. were beautiful happy and made our day joyous we had everything buffet style .. which we recommend.. their choices were perfect.. top quality ... Attending a luncheon with a group of retired professionals who have their luncheon at Christo's yearly, I inspected what I believed to be our buffet for a preview but was told by the luncheon supervisor (suit and tie): " This is not your buffet, your buffet is over there, but it's just as good." Not a very welcoming comment, since I was a first year attendee... The buffet that was 'ours" had a lot of variety, but lacked a good salad course, the cold items were not identified as such and the hot items included mostly meat with one fish item and a mystery squash melange. Because of the frigidity of the AC in the dining room any hot items were cold shortly after my return to the table. We had our wedding here on May 30th. Let me first say that working with Chris was so easy. If we had any questions, he answered right away. Every detail was taken care of. He even offered suggestions to the two of us, and they all worked out great. We had our ceremony there too. The backdrop of the green trees and the golf course really do make a beautiful background for pictures. I'm so happy we had the ceremony there. It was a pretty warm day, but the ceiling fans in the porch area did a very good job and kept people cool. Everyone raved about the cocktail hour food. You get to offer so many options to your guests! People really enjoyed all the choices. Some of the standouts we heard about were the avocado stuffed with shrimp, the wings, etc. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were nice and big and the taste was just perfect. The bar was popular at our wedding, to say the least. Everyone was really happy with the service. The reception was wonderful. I like the neutral décor of the room. It isn't gaudy like some catering places. Your flowers and your decorations make the room special. Speaking of the flowers, we worked with Osbornes florist, who does the centerpieces for Christos. I highly recommend them, they did a fantastic job. We had a candy buffet station at our reception, they did a very nice set up for that, and used the accessories we provided to make our beach theme really pop. The dinners were great. We offered the filet and the chicken picatta. everyone enjoyed them. I would definitely suggest Christos to anyone. We had considered renting a space and then working with a caterer, but ultimately decided that we just wanted to deal with one person for everything. It just made things so much easier. And added plus is that the cost per person at Christos was very reasonable. You could go to another local facility and pay way more, but for what? Everyone said they loved the facility, loved the service, the food, etc. We had a fantastic day there. read more

Where do I even begin!! I was there for a wedding recently and they had decided not to have a sit down or a buffet and did a cocktail hour but there were only stationary hors d'oeuvres and nothing passed. The chapters salad had no flavor and the cheese was more like frozen and not fresh, there was a tray of cheese but no breadsticks or cracker, bread and no butter. I asked for a lemon in my drink and was given the skin of a lemon when I asked for another one the waiter gave me an attitude! There were pouring coffee even before dessert was ready. Let's just say my husband and I were starving and so were the people at our table everyone planned to go to a diner. I was here a few years back for a work event and it was just as horrible. Also, they were taking away center pieces 45 min before the even was over! The room is pretty it service and food is absolutely terrible! I hope to never ever attend an event there again!! read more

Through my teenage years my mom would always go to this restaurant Christos and rave about how great his food was and how when i get married someday I should get married there. Well my mom was right as always!! Food is amazing and the owner Chris is awesome to do business with. In October 2010 my husband and I had our reception there and all I can say was that everything was perfect. Cocktail hour was absolutely amazing as well as dinner and of course dessert!! He has the best package deal to offer for all occasions and takes the time to sit down with you to discuss all your needs and expectations. Matt & I just had our wedding at Christos 9/23/12. Wow. The place is as beautiful and elegant as it is immaculate . The food was outrageous and bountiful. The filet was scrumptious -- Chris is very personal during the whole night. The grounds are stunning for pictures. The ceremony room needs very little decor since it is surrounded by walls of windows overlooking the lovely grounds. Everyone raved about it the whole night. Bathrooms are very tasteful and clean. If you are getting married or will be having any kind of event at all... this is the place to have it. So glad I chose Christos... it is truly an anointed place. read more
