My wife and I were looking for somewhere different to get away for our anniversary this year, and I didn't think she'd ever been to the Catskills area. We stumbled on the Inn at the Ridge through some Google searching. We only spent two nights, Friday and Saturday, so we were treated to Sal's weekend cooking. Easily among the best food at a B&B that we've ever had. When I booked, I didn't realize that I had booked the one room with a disconnected bathroom. Yes, it's private, but downstairs. Since the Inn wasn't completely full, they offered to relocate us to another open room, we didn't ask, they just suggested it. The house is old, like real old, so expect some quirks like wide creaky floors etc. The beds were quiet though, which was the important thing. Each room is uniquely decorated. The Inn is a nice distance from busy areas but not so far as to be a hardship. It's extremely close to Angry Orchard's Innovation cider mill, a state park with great trails, and even a little college town. I could probably go on, but Yelp's review editor is giving me issues. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area. read more

My wife and I went up to the Hudson Valley for a fall weekend getaway, and we stayed at this B&B. We had a fantastic experience here, the hosts were so friendly and helpful, and the space is beautiful. Our room was very comfortable with a king-sized bed. The location was perfect - close to Minnewaska state park, as well as several nearby towns and a few good restaurants. The breakfasts were the highlight of the experience! One of the hosts is a CIA-trained chef and he made fabulous food for us - chocolate-stuffed french toast, a great frittata, and more. They serve breakfast at a communal table, which is nice for getting to talk to the other guests there. We would definitely stay here again. read more

We visiting inn on the ridge about 6 years ago. My family rented every room bc we were attending a wedding down the road. My boys were little and they often ask if we could come back to the inn. My son was turning 12 and we went hiking up at minnewaska. I surprised him with staying at the Inn that night. It's as beautiful as I remember. They've just kept improving and improving what was already wonderful. Inn. The drawing room has a king size bed. We had a cot added but we ending up all sleeping in the king size comfy bed. We went out to dinner and on our return we found the fire pit a blaze. I didn't realize it was set up for our enjoyment at first. When we went inside there was a s'mores kit waiting for us inside! I remember Sal's breakfast being delicious on our last visit but I didn't realize it was only a weekend thing. Since we stayed on a Thursday there was no cooked breakfast included. But, there were farm eggs, bread, and fruit. You are welcome to use the kitchen as long as you clean up afterwards. I made some scrambled eggs and delicious toast. But, let me tell you if you stay on the weekend you are in for a treat. I love this place. It's great. Don't think twice about staying here. read more

I planned a weekend birthday for my friend. I picked the location because it looked close to vineyards, hiking and New Platz. I couldn't have picked a better place. Beautiful, quiet, clean. Sal and Bev were incredibly easy to work with. The breakfasts are great and made fresh. You really feel like you're at home. What can I really say about this place? Well, actually tons. Let me start by saying I think Sal & Bev are the sweetest people ever! I had my wedding here in June. Sal & Bev made my family and I feel like home. Their place is the cutest bed and breakfast I have ever seen. It's well maintained, the decor is amazing. When my tents were delivered from a company that I hired they blew away from 85 mph winds. My wedding was the next day, while everyone was getting crazy and loud, Sal automatically calmed everyone down, took the phone and called my rental company. He told them the situation and asked what can be done. He was on top of everything the day of my wedding!!! I mean just amazing. Him and Bev are the best. So kind hearted and accommodating. Both of them are excellent cooks! I mean their scones and crumb cake are to die for. The French toast was my fav. You might as well never eat it again if it's not from them!!! Fresh jam, bacon. Shall I continue? I woke up every morning with a cup of tea and my daughter and I would sit on the pouch and watch the cows. When I went back home to queens I thought now I know why people live in Wallkill. We will return back next year and make it a yearly tradition. To anyone who is thinking about staying for a few days I would say go for it. It's worth every penny!!! read more

My husband's review: I chose the Inn at The Ridge because I wanted to go away with my wife and our dog. It's a place that's quiet enough to be truly relaxing, has lots of land, and is yet a short drive to many places to eat, drink, and shop.  When you go there, your pet is a guest. When we showed up, Bev came out to the driveway to greet us, and spent time getting to know our tired, and nervous dog. He became comfortable with her, and his surroundings within minutes. They had snacks for him, acres for him to play on, and by the time we were ready to go, he was hiding in the grass, and refused to come to the car. We believe he would have done little more than wave at us if we left him there. For his first trip, we are very grateful that he enjoyed it that much. Now, if you aren't a dog owner, don't despair. I am very picky about animal bits being everywhere, and I promise you, they aren't. In fact, it almost seems like they're lying about being pet friendly. I couldn't see, smell, or imagine any traces of any prior animals anywhere.  They make a point of letting you live like you're at home. The kitchen is yours, the living room is yours, the porch is yours, the yard is yours, and the fire pit was lit by the time we got back from dinner with s'mores ingredients laid out on the table. I've got to say that it almost feels like they're lying about the at-home feel too, because we don't have all these good things set up before we walk in the door at our house.  The Inn at The Ridge is quiet, calm, and comfortable, and we'll be back. My husband, our dog and I stayed at The Inn at the Ridge for 3 nights this past week. We found it on the internet while searching for dog friendly accommodations near New Paltz. It exceeded our expectations! The hospitality and the ambiance were both outstanding. Sal and Bev were more than welcoming, treating us like friends and they met all of our needs. Bev kept reminding us that it was "our house" for the duration of our stay. Since it was mid week, Sal didn't cook for us, however the refrigerator was well stocked for breakfast and there were chocolate chip cookies for snacks as well. The basic items were added to and replenished throughout our stay. We spent most of our time exploring the area but we also spent time on their grounds just enjoying the outstanding view. Sal and Bev prepared a fire for us one evening. It was lovely. I would highly recommend visiting The Inn at the Ridge. We can't wait to return. read more

Many great things to say about this B&B. First off, the food! I truly appreciate that Sal accommodated my egg allergy as he cooked up tasty waffles, scones, and other goodies. Sal and Bev also related the property's history with some juicy tidbits. My room was comfortable and clean. The expansive property with its lotus pond, fire pit, bee hive, and wandering maze-like hedges really allow an escape from urban life. It is also close enough to the mountain parks, lakes, and quaint towns to enjoy all that the valley has to offer. Time with the other guests was lovely. Made two new friends! I stayed here as part of attending on on-site yoga and cleanse workshop that was held in the adjacent "barn". That was also a great space. I recommend fully and will stay again. read more

Lovely, cozy inn, and the hosts make you feel welcome and at home. Great location, close to nature (Mohank nature reserve) and to town ( New Paltz, Newburgh all within 15 min drive). Our pup especially loved the backyard with all the grass to roam around and made some new dog friends. read more

I am so happy we found this place! I can still feel the taste of Sal's freshly made, hot strawberry jam, topped with home-made whipped cream, on my waffle at breakfast. Their hospitality is amazing and, seriously, the breakfasts are more than extraordinary. The house is so cozy and welcoming that I almost didn't want to leave after the breakfast for our acitivities - I could easily spend the entire day in the living room or on the swings in the backyard curled up with a book. The atmosphere inside and out is just so serene and tranquil. The views of the ridge and cows in the fields are priceless. Fantastic place for an escape from the city, but it is the hosts that make it truly special. Can't wait to be back! read more
