We stayed at Nancy's magical bed & breakfast the weekend of my wedding - June 20th through June 24th 2019. Our entire stay was perfect and better than I could have ever imagined. Nancy created the most tranquil environment for us, which was just what I needed leading up to the big day! Nancy was so accommodating and the nicest person you will ever meet. The night we arrived I wrote on my breakfast order 'just fruit would be fine because I am vegan' but she whipped us up some delicious avocado toasts and even went out of the way to pick up some plant based yogurts and milk for our stay. The rooms were all so beautiful and decorated with antiques from her travels. Our party had all 3 rooms rented out and we got ready the day of our wedding in the beautiful dining room, which had the best natural light and her gardens surrounding us. Nancy made all of us a delicious breakfast bright and early before we got started on our hair & makeup. It was seriously the perfect space to get ready and all of the pictures from that morning came out great! My husband and I spent the next two days relaxing and enjoyed another amazing breakfast the morning after our wedding. We had the best time exploring the area. The rail trail entrance is right behind the b&b! Our first few days as husband & wife were just lovely and we can't wait to return!! I highly recommend the Inn at Twaalfskill for a magical, Hudson Valley getaway.

Complimentary breakfast is just ok, but it is something to eat. My primary complaint is that we paid weekend rates and our room was never serviced. Got back from a long day out sightseeing to dirty towels, unmade bed etc. I had to go to the front desk to ask for clean towels. I wasn't able to reach the front desk via phone, it just rang busy. I also realize the screaming kids next door weren't their fault but I couldn't call the desk to complain. Not sure we will stay here again without a compelling reason.

Room was clean and spacious; we had a 2 queen bed with sofa on the 2nd floor. Plenty of parking and they had breakfast. Front desk lady who checked me in was friendly. They don't have an elevator so if stairs are a no go then you'd want to request a room on the first floor. The door by the stairs is exit only which was inconvenient since you had to walk around in the parking lot and enter through the lobby. There was a card reader on the outside of the door so they should consider fixing it so it can be used as an entrance. Coffee in the lobby was weak in flavor, very light. Breakfast options were limited. Only hot options were microwaved eggs and bacon and you can toast English muffin. A waffle maker would have been nice. Since they don't have a gym, there wasn't a water fountain in the hotel. While they did have a pitcher of water, it was small and not really effective for the whole hotel to use.

I was greeted by a…read moredeep stench of cigarettes and poo that permeated through everything in the room emanating from the carpet . The manager tried to cleanse the odor with a can of deodorizing spray, but the monster of a smell was persistent. The bathroom was tiny and dirty. The light casing housed a plethora of dead and alive bugs inside. I was afraid to touch the shower fearing foot fungus was the best thing I could have gotten from the mildewed, cracked walls. The window in the bathroom was broken, not able to properly lock. So I had to reinforce it so that no one could open it from the outside. The carpet in the room was disgusting forcing me to put on sandals before setting foot on the ground. I think the most interesting part about staying at this motel was not the spiders I had to kill in the bathroom or the exposed, disgusting, poor-excuse-for-a ventilation system that blew out gross air, but it was the drug bust at 11pm in the room next door which turned into a chase on foot for the strung out girlfriend. (In case you were wondering, they found 10 unused syringes of heroine, some used needles, and a bit of pot.) Needless to say I was disgusted. The one star rating stems from a very nice manager and good weekly rates. A great place if you can deal with all that!

So they gave us a two queen non smoking which was fine. After reading some of the reviews I got concerned to check for BED BUGS and sure enough we found one under the bed as well as candy wrappers and HUGE stains on the side of the bed frame. If this wasn't bad enough there were stains on the bed sheets. I went downstairs to ask to be moved to another room and the concierge said he only had smoking available. It was upsetting to me that he would suggest that because upon check in he specifically told me "I wouldn't recommended the smoking room for you if you aren't a habitual smoker". Sure enough I checked the smoking room and I absolutely could not sleep in that type of environment and it was also disgusting. I was not given a refund for this inconvenience and ended up driving 3 hours back home because there were no other options. I plan to fight this and received a refund because this is completely unacceptable!!!!!!!

There was a pool table in the lobby which my son and his friends liked. They sold wine and beer from the check-in desk which seemed odd. They made a mistake in our reservation so can't give 5 stars. Basic place to rest your head.

The folks at the front desk were super helpful and kind throughout my stay. What lovely people they have working here. The lobby is chic and lovely and the restaurant looked upscale as well. My room was on the fourth floor and had a lovely view of the lush green fields and trees below. It has a king bed which was very comfortable throughout my stay. It also had a nice little kitchenette with a closer to full size fridge than you normally get in hotels. It als had a small seating area with a sofa and desk. Both of which came in handy for hotel working. It was clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay (including Starbucks coffee and Coffee-mate liquid creamer in the room!). Get to it!

The breakfast at the Inn was included and was very attractively and cleanly set out but was not special. For some reason a reviewer raved about the breakfast there. It was not so different from other locations in the US. The room was very spacious, very clean with a beautiful view of the upper 1/3 of the CIA and the mountains beyond. Really pretty. In contrast to the large room, the bathroom was rather small. The toilet was behind the door. The water pressure in the shower was very low - obviously intentional as the sink water blasted out when the faucet was opened. It's sad to see how the Covid practice of limiting daily room maintenance has become a standard practice. And the cost of a stay has gone skyward. This hotel adds $10 per night for parking! That is a big time nickel and dime act. Would I stay there again? No. For the price charged, I'd rather stay in Rhinebeck. The front desk was polite as would be expected.
