It is a shame that my experience dealing with the front office staff, financial services, and billing completely take away from the amazing nurse and technicians. They were amazing, kind, and very communicative about what I would experience during my MRI and keeping me comfortable. My Bad review come from doing little research into my coverage and what I was told to pay at the time of service. I called my insurance when I got home to verify what I paid was correct and come to find out I was over charged $55 and the person who verified my coverage was not looking at the right information. After 30 minutes on the phone with front office (not their problem?), Financial services (not their problem?), Billing ( not their problem?), and finally getting someone in financial services to at least verify my coverage again and then she understood what I was saying ( her comment was "I should have known and what did I want her to about it?) Long story short no ETA on getting my money back and I will just have to wait until billing processes it and maybe I will get my money back. so I guess patients should just know what all the rules are at every given visit before they even think about having a procedure done. Venogram by Dr Agha in Scottsdale with implant of filter Found out Dr Agha had Thursday appts in Chandler and have gone there a couple of times. Staff is great Waits, if no emergencies are short the scheduling is done very well. The technicians are very competent and careful to explain what they are doing Dr Agha is fantastic! From first contact I have had access via text to ask anything. I am so glad my general practitioner sent me to this fine medical operation. They called me this am at 0800 and told me that I was scheduled to have a chest X-ray and could just "walk in" and wouldn't have to make an appointment. I thought "Wow that's awesome! Open on a Saturday and I could just walk in". So I got dressed and got there at 0835. I saw people come in 45 minutes after I had been there and being called back. NOTHING ticks me off more, than being FIRST to be somewhere and seeing other people arriving after me being served first (May it be a restaurant or dr office) after an hour and 5 minutes of waiting, I approached the front desk and asked how many more people were ahead of me, the girl told me verbatim "you are next to be called". With in 20 MORE minutes 5 more people were called back (one had JUST walked in, filled out paperwork) That was it for me. I walked out. It was then 1035...Unfortunately I will have to call to SCHEDULE AN APPT this time! So when they tell u, "you can jus walk in" you can!!! But you'll be waiting for HOURS!! read more

SimonMed Imaging clearly has lack of leadership/management issues. It starts when you walk in the door. You are made to feel like this will be a "herding cattle" experience. I walked up to the counter with a smile and said hi, and was greeted with, "name?" I had to say back, "what the magic word?". I did get back a partial grin and she said, "please". No welcome, no smile, just blank. Either overworked, under paid, undertrained, or just doesn't care. Once in a gown, I was seated in a TINY holding area where other patients in gowns are also uncomcomfortably waiting. We are literally crammed into a space that is 4' X 8' including chairs ( I stepped it off). Very close quarters to be sitting in a gown. Imagine if you are there for a procedure that requires you to be fully nude under your gown. Clearly there is nobody at SimonMed putting themselves in the position of the patient. They are only there to funnel as many bodies as they can throught their doors. There was a TV in that "holding pen", but nobody had bothered to turn it on. When I tried it was some sort of app TV (Roku?) that I never did get to work. So I sat looked around at the facility, which is absolutely neglected. Walls are all marred and dirty, baseboards are filthy, floors are dirty, any art that is actually on a wall looks like someone pulled it out of their grandparents garage to cover some wall space. The actual treatment room is the same. Walls, floors, and equipment is horrible. There was an old gross swiffer propped up behind the door that also looked filthy. My procedure required me to be on my stomach, and for the 15 minutes I laid there, I counted 7 human hairs on the equipment I was in. I actually mentioned to the tech they needed to pay some attention to the facility as the walls and floors looked filthy. Her reply was that they have equipment that bumps into the walls. Ya, I know...every medical facility has the same situations, but most invest money in cleanliness, maintenance, and making sure they project an image worthy of a medical practice. The tech's demeanor was the same as the receptionist. No smile, no how are you doing, just instructions. She actually looked like she hated being there. They gave me headphones, which I also assumed were likely as disgusting as the facility. And what is so hard about putting some music in your headphones? I have had other imaging facilities provide music through my headphones for YEARS! And the tech can talk to you through your headphones. Not SimonMed. Again, nobody is looking into the patient experience. They are very busy so I'm sure money is not the issue. It's clearly greed and again, lack of leadership/management. I will be suggesting that my referring sergeon NEVER recommend SimonMed. SMILE is a much more professional organization. Clean, friendly, professional, and they don't take a week to get your imaging results sent to your Doctor. 1 day turnaround versus the week SimonMed quoted me. read more

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I have always had great service at Simonmed. Had an MRI yesterday (Sunday), and my appt was at 2:30, and I was 40 minutes early. Check-in was a breeze, and the tech took me back, performed the MRI and I was out the door at 2:42. I was at the Mesa (Greenfield) location, but the experience was almost the same at another location in Gilbert. My husband has also used the Gilbert location a few times and always had great service. This would not have been a big deal had someone from the staff called me ahead of time to let me know of this so I could have left my house later. Staff was unfriendly when I came in almost as if I was an inconvenience. This is unfortunate because lady who called to schedule me was extremely friendly and the tech was good too. I was referred from my chiropractor to Simon Med for my MRI. They were supposed to call me when they received the order. They did not call and I had to call them 3 days later. I made my appointment and showed up on time. They were 1.5 hrs behind at 5:00pm so while I was standing in line minutes before me appointment they called to tell me they were running late and asked me to show up later. Since it was too late for that I chose to come back the next day. Overall staff was friendly and helpful but they need to work their scheduling. read more

I have been coming to this location for all of my imaging for the last 10 years. I have tried to be patient and understanding with Covid19 but it's seriously soooo bad! They are ok with their patient's waiting in line standing outside in the sun in 110 degree weather for over 30 minutes during the painfully slow check in process. They are reactive rather than proactive. Today, after arriving early for my appointment and waiting for 30 minutes outside to get checked in, I was asked to fill out paperwork which I did and handed back. Apparently she just put the paperwork down and let for lunch. I watched as people that came in way after I did started going back before me so I asked the office manager if my paperwork was put in the proper place for the technicians to know I was ready for my exam. Save your time. Without a doubt the most incompetent scheduling I have dealt with in this town. Had an Ultrasound appointment for my teenage daughter. Was told a time and place. Location chosen due to its close proximity to my residence. 1 hour before appt time my daughter called to confirm. She was told, "oh the tech went home sick, you have to reschedule" No notification, no nothing. Already left work so the time was already wasted. Ok I get it, people get sick so it may have been unavoidable. Rescheduled for the following Tuesday. Again 2 hours before appt my daughter calls again. This time she is told, "oh you were rescheduled for another location" Again no phone call no notification. So I called and asked and was told, I don't know. I don't know. Always I don't know and blaming it on another location. Regardless of who is responsible or what location, it is obvious the incompetence runs company wide at all locations. Must be pretty bad is they get a horrible review and we haven't even entered the facility yet. Again I adjust my schedule to leave early but now due to the change I have to miss even more time all because someone is ignorant, inconsiderate and untrained. I would give zero stars if I could. My college aged daughter was charged the total amount for services TWICE. I called my insurance company who confirmed they paid the first service and we are covered at 100%. I then called Simon med billing who said one refund was issued already and she'll get refunded for the latest service. They said it's "customary" to charge for services up front and then issue refunds. I find that ridiculous and have not experienced that before. Usually the service is run through insurance first. Are they not preauthorizing insurance or are they taking advantage of patients. I'm calling my insurance back to see if this practice is "customary." read more

My grandma came in to get an MRI done and was NOT satisfied with her care. She said a woman named Anna was the one helping her and she was absolutely rude and not helpful, not just to her but she could tell her attitude towards other staff was just not pleasant. I don't understand why a facility would hire someone to help people, but that person is negative and not even willing to go over questions about her condition with her. Why? Why would you hire someone so defiantly negative? She clearly did not want to be there and did not want to do her job. My grandma said she thinks there was a student or someone training in there with Anna and that Anna was VERY rude and unprofessional to them. If you are going to get an MRI don't here and you want someone who is positive and willing to actually help you, I would suggest you request anyone but her. My apologies for not getting the lady's name that checked us in. We were an hour early today for our appointment but at the right location, 1/2 isnt so bad. She greeted us with a wonderful smile and was very pleasant. She made eye contact and made the visit more enjoyable. I also noticed she greeted everyone and tried to have a pleasant conversation with all that she encountered. Working in retail for as long as I have, you dont see customer service like this anymore; especially in a doctors office. The initial office experience is fine, not very long waits. However, I am writing this review to warn others. My husband and I went there on two separate occasions and the front office said that we had to pay a deductible. My husband paid $600 and I paid $350. We found out months later that our insurance covered our deductibles. I attempted to contact simon med on several occasions to get our money back. First, it is tough to talk to a live person in the billing department. Once I did reach a "live person", she said that they would investigate it and if we were owed a refund, we would get it. Two months later, I called back with our insurance representative and she took over for me, demanding they return our money. They said that they would put it back on our credit card. Still a month later, no refunds on our cc. So I called again and spoke to another person, and she said she would refund the amount now, and that there was no detailed notes that we had called in previously. Finally, we got our refund back only a few days later after this last call. They were NOT planning on paying us back. Very poor service! read more

I arrived at the clinic a little before 8am (right as they opened) as a walk in and it was already packed. Waited over 2 hours to get a chest X-ray. Don't just come when they open, get here earlier if you want to get in and out faster. And when they tell you the wait time's an hour, prepare for 2+. read more

Had my Mammo appt there a few weeks ago on a Saturday. They were prompt on my appointment time and the technician was very friendly and explained everything as she went along. I have been trying to schedule a breast MRI for over four months. The first time I tried I asked for an open MRI I was told their baywood location had one. The next day they called back that baywood did not have one and they rescheduled me to come in on a different day that did not work for me. This was after waiting on hold for over 45 mins. When I called back to reschedule a few weeks later I waited on hold again for over 20 mins to be told the computers were down?! I called back a few weeks after that. I only waited on hold for 6 mins and was able to make an appt finally! I was also told the test needed to be 10-14 days after my period and no caffeine for 24 hours before the test! The person I scheduled with the first time NEVER told me that! So I skip my coffee come in this morning and am taken right back. The breast MRI is about 20 mins and if you are claustrophobic very nerve wracking. I got about 20 mins into the test ( I was so happy I was almost done and this was almost all behind me) when the tech comes in and tells me the machine is broken!!!!!! None of the images they have are useable!! After fighting back tears I go for my mammogram. The tech can't find my name and I wait for about 15 mins. Finally I get in there. Now I will say that she was obviously new and that's ok, people have to learn. But she did keep repeatedly saying "Jesus" every time she got frustrated. This whole place is unprofessional and I am very frustrated. read more

Looks like I will add to the horrible reviews for this place. The staff and practice as a whole is unacceptably slow. They called my wife over an hour before her appointment regarding insurance approval. She have then the approval number again since the approval person failed to do their job correctly the business day before. Instead of doing their last minute call to the insurance company since my wife assured then we would be there early for her appointment, they did not call until well after we arrived. We arrived almost 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. After waiting 30 minutes after the scheduled time, we are informed that part of the delay is because of them verifying with the insurance on the phone. We have been to 3 different companies for imaging in the last few months. Simon Med is the only one that is not only late but continuously make their patients wait in a full waiting room. When is corporate going to actually read these reviews and realize they need to evaluate their processes. Some high notes(only reason they get two stars) 1.) The front staff seemed professional. They were not rude. 2.) The music! They play instrumental versions of Top40 hits. I guess the popular music in a calming tone helps sedate people while their time is being wasted by poor management. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Think twice before coming here . One star is too good . I normally do not leave bad reviews I always try to work things out with the company. This is not the case as I have made 3 phone calls and talked to 2 people who honestly could not help the situation and I was finally given the name of a manager. I called and had to leave a message ( shocking). I left my message over a week ago and I am completely frustrated. I had a mammo done in dec , it took over two months to get my results and when I received my letter it was addressed to me at my address and that's where anything related to me stopped. It stated my test date was January and my results were sent to a dr I have never heard of. OMG! They have me mixed up with someone else , how unethical.. I know stuff happens but I've been trying to resolve this to no avail. I have zero respect for them and will NEVER EVER return. I have lost complete trust for my welfare. Went here today for my yearly mammo. There were 2 girls at the front desk, one was helping a lady and there were 3 of us in line, I was first in the line. The other girl was busy on her computer, did not look up and acknowledge me, so after standing there for 5 minutes I asked her was she doing check in also---she raised her hand and said I'll be with you soon. kind of rudely. no smile. then when she was finished with whatever she was doing----she looked at me and said "yes?". Her name was Stephanie Z. She needs to learn how to greet people. I have encountered this rudeness at the front desk at this facility every time I go. Think I will have to find a new facilitiy. The mammo girl in the back was wonderful. Its always that front desk. No smile, no personality, no facial expressions. I had been referred to the Queen Creek location in the beginning of my pregnancy for an ultrasound since my insurance wouldn't allow the Dr's office to perform it, and I had to go 3 times and they still were unable to get a full complete ultrasound that was to the doctors satisfaction. (they failed to get important information) so I ended up going to a completely different place and they got it all done 1 shot. Now I have to go back for a growth ultrasound and I called to make an appointment and was informed they would not be able to accommodate me and my 3 kids if I brought them! Seriously!! The lady was so rude about it, almost laughing when I told her I would have them with me, because I don't have a babysitter during the day. I canceled the appointment and will be going elsewhere again and never returning to them! read more

Worst customer service ever. Incompetent staff and to top that off, had to wait an hour to see someone. Why make an appointment at 6 if no one care to see you till after 7. I've been here for mammograms in the past and thought it might have changed. All the previous reviews have been spot on accurate! Last week I took my husband there for an X-ray. ( his dr uses simon) and wow, things have not changed. Don't they read these reviews? I got the same robot at the front who says she'll help me when she's done typing. Ok , then Lindsay Lohan was training a newbie who was nice but they were just plain strange for a medical front desk. Acted more like fast food workers. The place was crowded and not welcoming. Once you get past the horrible front desk, the techs and every single staff member in the back was polite, helpful, reassuring and professional. This is where we go for scary diagnostics and it should be staffed with more calm, professional front desk people. read more

I am giving them one star for the simple reason that zero is not an option. The doctors and staff were wonderful, caring and helpful. However, whoever is doing their pre-authorizations and billing are completely inept. I was told at time of service that I had to pay my portion upfront and I paid the exact amount that was requested. I even asked if they had double checked with my insurance that that was my total amount out of pocket. I had 3 tests run, the 2nd test was recommended but optional. I made the decision to go ahead when I was told my total out of pocket expense was $85, I paid the amount I was told and now owe an additional $900 for just that one test! Total amount I still owe for all 3 tests is over $1300. My insurance company says that they have no record of anyone calling in for pre-authorization and I was lied to by the front office. They even have a note in the system that I was put on a payment plan, I asked for a copy of the payment plan and there is none on record. The supposed payment plan that I signed didn't even match my total amount due. After months of calling their billing department, I just received a phone call that after review, it was decided that I owe the entire amount. Steer clear of Simon Med. Take your diagnostic needs elsewhere,l they are taking advantage of their patients. read more

I came in today for a breast ultrasound due to a lump I found this week. I had the receptionist put in the notes that I personally do NOT feel comfortable with a man seeing my breast. A woman X-ray tech took me back, at that point I struck up conversation with her about how uncomfortable men make me and I was happy to see a woman. She preformed the breast ultrasound, then she left the room saying she would be back. After 5 minutes... no knock on the door, as I'm still undressed ... a male walks in with the female tech. No warning... I was so embarrassed that I couldn't speak! I had just explained my situation to the woman X-ray tech! That is not ok! I should have been asked if that was ok before bringing a male into my exam room while I'm undressed. I am mortified! He preformed another ultrasound. He was nice, don't get me wrong, but I will not ever feel comfortable with a man touching my breast. And with no warning... just walked right in the exam room! This is only my 2nd time ever reporting on a company, but felt it important enough to do so. My experience was very similar to those listed below. I received a call from SimonMed to schedule an appointment for a Thyroid Biopsy. I scheduled the appointment. A week later i received a call from SimonMed to schedule an appointment. I explained that i had already made an appointment. They had no record of me having an appointment, just a note that a person called and left a message for me and i never returned the call. I looked up my records and gave them the date of the call and the length of the conversation, the date and time of the appointment and the instructions - but no, they had no record. My only option at this point was a month later, or to go to Phoenix. I explained that i was unable to go to Phoenix, so scheduled the appointment a month later. A few days later i received a call from someone stating that they really wanted to get me in earlier, so to please call them to reschedule. When i called back i asked - you now have openings? She said yes, we rescheduled and at the end of the conversation she gave me the address - PHOENIX!!!. I changed the appointment and went back to the one already scheduled for Mesa. When i arrived for my appointment, i sat around waiting for almost an hour and a half before being called in. The girl at the counter and the nurses were extremely nice. When the doctor came in, i could tell she was not a happy camper. After injecting the first needle, i said "this is strange" - The doctor immediately became defensive and asked me if I was having a problem already. She stated that she does this 7-8 times a day and most people don't even have discomfort. I replied that i was only saying that it was odd watching it on the screen. After about the 3rd time she put the needle in, i started feeling excruciating pain across my jaw. I was careful not to say anything, but I know i was clenching my eyes. She again became defensive and berating me for feeling pain. Not only does she do this 7-8 times a day, but there are patients that have double procedures that don't feel a thing. My response was "OK". After she finished, she said you are going to be bruised and swollen, but you came in here already swollen. After she left, the tears came running out of my eyes. The nurse was very compassionate and understanding and suggested i lay there for a while. When i went out into the waiting room the girl from behind the counter said the doctor recommended that i wait for 20 minutes - i was not waiting. I wanted to get the heck out of there. If something did happen, i wanted to get somewhere that had kind, compassionate doctors. I did not want to be there. The serious pain was gone shortly and most of the pain (other than feeling swollen and bruised) subsided within an hour or so. But for the next few days i couldn't help but continuing to play the doctors attitude over and over again in my mind. She really should not be in this line of work. read more

I never write reviews, but I feel it would be unjust not to share my experience and apologize to those I have assumed were just having a bad day when they described there experience. I went to Simonmed today for my daughters X-ray and after visiting the 64th St. Simonmed, where I was told that the Greenfield location was open until 8pm for walk-in x-rays. I was told that you cannot make an appt for an X-ray it's walk in only. I arrived at 5:30 at the Greenfield location. The waiting room was empty, the girls had horrible customer service, and told me they don't do x-rays after 5pm. I find this interesting as their website and the other location both stated that they take walk-ins until 8:00pm. In my opinion this is poor customer service, especially when you have locations valley wide; if the other locations are giving out information that another location is providing services until a certain time then they should give out accurate information. As a person who works in the medical field I will neither refer to this company, nor will I have my family go to this company. I now understand why patients express their dissatisfaction with these referrals having gone through the same situation myself. No thank you, there are plenty of other vendors that provide the same services who are honest and have accurate representation of their services, hours, and patient satisfaction. read more

After checking in here today, I read the reviews and I'm really surprised. The nurses at Simon Med were very polite & prompt with getting my son & I in. We were a walk in also. And within 30 minutes we were finished! We got the Xray results same day as well. I'm thinking they have really weeded out the problem nurses, and brought in some new nurses since all of the bad reviews. If not, then they've stepped up their game quite a bit. I'd definitely go back here if in fact there ever is a need to in the future. read more
