I went to Simon Medical and had never had an MRI and never would have thought that I had to take off all my jewelry. Needless to say when I returned home from (3) tests after being Claustrophobia I put on all my jewelry, and went home. Then I noticed that my diamond earring was missing, I called on Thursday and was told someone would get back to me, no call back. I called on Friday and all I heard was we didn't find anything. I visited the facility on Saturday and was told nothing was found. So I asked to speak to the manager the following Monday and she called me back Tuesday stating nothing was found. I didn't know to take off any jewelry and I never knew what exactly an MRI was, all I was told was to take everything off and the earrings would be fine. Funny! The earring had been in my ear for (5) months and I have never lost an earring before. So I just threw $1,600 plus tax down the drain going to that facility thinking I would be standing for a quick hip/back x-ray, not laying on a table stuck inside a loud, banging, noise-making machine. The staff was nice, the wait was long, my earring disappeared and I think someone took it, I can't find a trace of it nowhere. read more

So after all the fuss last week and finally being told that I'd get a refund, a week later there is still nothing. Now of course they'll blame the bank, but that same bank has already processed a refund from Saturday! So SimonMed told me on Wednesday and I still have nothing at all on my account, even temporary. Other returns that were processed days later have already posted to my account. What now? More emails? More phone calls? More time wasted? Worst yet, I found out that because of my insurance, I'm not allowed to pay up front! We have an HSA, and my new pcp's billing office said that with my insurance, it must go through the insurance first before I pay anything. read more

This place is the worst. I was told an hour wait for X-rays... I waited for 4 hours. And the receptionist had the audacity to tell me in a condescending tone "you're more than welcome to leave" about 10 minutes prior to being taken back. These receptionists have the worst attitudes. Staff is beyond slow as heck and give no care what so ever. Do yourself a favor, go to a different center. I would give this place a zero star rating if I could. read more

I took the time off of work to get an imaging procedure done. I got there, and they had not received authorization from my insurance company for the CT Scan. I was really frustrated and the gal said "Oh you can pay for it out of pocket.." and then deal with the hassle of getting reimbursements from my insurance company. No thanks. I got my appointment rescheduled for Friday afternoon and hope my results are in by the time my appointment on Monday with comes with the doctor who needs them. The scheduling website is a mess. No appointments were available (for months) so I called to get my appointment. The first gal I talked to sounded like she didn't want to be there or was having a bad day. She put me on hold to look for availability and never came back to the line. Eventually the call disconnected after being on hold. I called back again and got a hold of somebody else. Apparently the girl scheduled me for an appointment and never bothered to tell me when it was or if it would work for me. I was just flabbergasted- like who does that? The gal helping me the second time seemed equally surprised the first lady never got back on the phone to go over appointment times. I hate this place with a passion but it's close to my house. I wish Simon Med would get their crap together. Oh- the guy in front of me also got turned away because they never got the order from his doctor and he drove in from San Tan Valley. The gal at the desk supposedly called his office 5 times and nobody answered. He tried calling and got through right away and was able to get him in. I'm just wondering why they didn't try calling my insurance company while I was there. Or before hand. My doctor's office said Simon Med was responsible to get the authorizations when I asked if I should call Cigna. read more

Beware when completing your information before your appointment online. I did this and checked in 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment and still waited an hour to be called in. When I asked 30 minutes into waiting after numerous people who came in after me had come and gone they told me my paperwork was in the back and it won't be long. At an hour into waiting they realized they never actually printed my paperwork I completed online and that is when they finally got me in. I was upset and asked to speak to a manger who was 'busy' at the time, they took my information and told me I would get a call back and of course never did. The Mesa Greenfield location is known for their lack of customer service as I personally witnessed with other patients during my hour long wait. I will never use this location again. I have never had any issues at the Scottsdale Mountain location. read more

I cannot go lower than a 1 star and am downgrading this to a 1 star. Last week we picked up the CD with my husband's x-rays. We did not open this and when we went to the chiropractor today, we gave it to him. The x-rays that were ordered were of the Cervical Spine. I saw the x-rays when the technician, Paulo, took them, the three images. When the chiropractor pulled up the images, they were of the chest and lungs. Hmmm and they were dated 6/11/2013. My husband never took any x-rays until 1.5 weeks ago and he had never been to Simonmed until 1.5 weeks ago. So, we got someone else's x-rays. Good job. I called this office back and at first, she couldn't find the images. Then she said there was only 1 image. I told her there are 3 because I saw the 3 images when the technician took them. Finally, she found them. Told Kayla, the lady who answered the phone, that we would be there in 1/2 hr to get the correct x-rays. She said she would start the CDs. Maybe it was because she might have remembered how unhappy we were last week when they were not ready when we showed up after we said we would be there in a half hour. This time, she had the images and showed us the images before we left with the CD. The office area this time had a few people, but it smelled smoky. Apparently, their furniture/carpet or whatever is saturated in smoke. Yuck. Which, to me, makes this not a sanitary place and even a bus station would smell better, which this is supposed to be a medical facility. They need to really have professional cleaning get that smell out. And, the fact that they gave us the wrong x-rays is just unacceptable. The date of the x-ray didn't even correspond to the date we requested, which was 1.5 weeks ago, not 1.5 YEARS ago. Our chiropractor said it's also unacceptable that they cannot upload this via the internet system the other Simonmed's have. And our chiropractor would advise people to not go to this Simonmed. I usually go to Simonmed myself, and have never had much heartache about going; however, this visit wasn't for me (I was a spectator) and tbis is how it went. 8AM appt....arrived at 0746 - lines out the door with one person at front desk. 2nd front desk person arrives at 0758 and can't login. Speaks to 1st front desk person about sharing their login because they forgot to do their training and that's why they can't login. 2nd person finally signed in at 0800. We reach the front desk at 0801. Person at front desk enters that we arrived at 0801. I quickly correct them, and inform them we've been waiting in line for 15 minutes. No apology is offered. Sat for another 15 minutes un5il called for procedure. Procedure takes less time than what was spent in line and waiting. A couple recommendations. 1. If you see you have a full schedule, your front office staff should arrive at 0730 to start checking people in for 0800 appts, and not open the doors at 0745 and have one person at the front desk and another person arrive 13 minutes later unable to sign in because they forgot to do their training (certainly an educational opportunity for that staff person or a corrective action, your choice). It should be all hands on deck to process the mass of people waiting to be seen. 2. Have a better system in place for high volume times. It's alot of overhead to have back office staff sitting for who knows how long, before patients are available, see number 1 above. Start seeing patients as soon as they are processed and ready to go back. Don't have them wait if at all possible. read more

Have waited more than an hour and still not been taken back. When I first arrived they tried to tell me the insurance company had not approved the procedure yet. I replied 'Yes they have and I have the authorization.' They then said, 'Well, the supervisor has to approve it and since she didn't see it before she left, you'll have to come back tomorrow.' To which I replied, 'No, I have an appointment. Call the supervisor and tell her you have a copy of the insurance authorization.' After some more back and forth, they gave me the paperwork to fill out, I paid my co-pay, and here I sit. Next time, I will ask my primary to request a different imaging facility. read more

So disappointed with this office. The radiologist waited 4 business days to read it. After i called to complain that they had not even read it to get it to my Dr. After that i ordered a copy of the report and films to get a second opinion and when i went in giving them 3 days to get that done they did not have it ready. So the next week i went in they gave me the film copies...so i thought. I got home to find they did not include the report. I just called them and they said sorry we cannot fax you your report even though I was just there the day before to prove who i was. All the while i am having to find rides to get there because it is my right knee that prevents me from driving at this time. UGH!!! i usually go to EVDI and will never go to a simonmed office again! I even had another Dr. request the report and they did not send it to him. They only made my misery worse. read more

This is one of the worst and disorganized imaging offices I have ever been to. The wait times are never less than 2 hours, and that's just for an X-ray. I waited over 3 hours and was told at check-in that it would only be a 45 minute wait time. This seems to be pretty normal at this location, there is a woman that has been waiting over 2 hours today-and she was literally the second person to arrive here when they opened this morning. Don't come to this location if you don't want to wait for hours and hours. I will not be returning here again, this place is just ridiculous. I have already been here for an hour today... read more

So I was just in a very serious car accident and I went to the ER and suggested that after that I get a follow up, so I went to a follow up appointment and they suggested getting a chest x Ray for the concern that I may have a broken rib. As I went to SimonMed that was in network and was a doctor described location, they refused to do my X-Ray demanding a up front $50+ charge. My mother refused and we explained the concern and the urgency as being in a 45 MPH car accident and breathing hurts. They refused to do my X Ray and didn't care that I was in pain. It took 2 weeks to get an appointment because if you are not available when they call you have to wait 48 hrs to get another call. Never answer the phones directly. I received a call at 9 am this morning that they have an opening for 10 am today. Of course I took it. I've had to come for exams twice in the last two weeks. During the first appointment, I waited for an hour to check in for an appointment I had a scheduled wait time for and then had the exam almost two hours after the scheduled appointment. When I returned, I was the only person in line, but was not assisted by the employees at the front counter for 15 minutes. They told me to wait on the blue dot while they worked on computers. When I got to the counter they were completely unfriendly. I understand there can be delays, but the delays here are excessive and the folks working the counter are just plain rude. On the positive side, when you finally get back, the MRI technician is very friendly. read more

My daughter had an MRI at the Greenfield location in AZ on Saturday, 4/7/18. The staff who performed her MRI made multiple mistakes. They did not have her change into a gown, but left her in her clothes for the test. They did not give her a panic button to use during the test. And finally, the tech who administered the contrast missed her vein and shot it into her arm which was very painful and caused for the MRI results to be inconclusive. Because of this last mistake, her urgent MRI could not be read and she had to go back in for a re-test. This time they got it right, but that does not make up for the first visit with all the mistakes and issues that caused a delay in her diagnosis and potentially damaging errors. I have left two messages for the SimonMed compliance office to share my concerns, but since they have not returned my call, I am posting publicly. read more

I arrived 10 minutes early for a ultra sound with a full bladder, per DR. orders. After 30 minutes of waiting, I inquired how much longer it would be and was told ABOUT 20 MORE minutes. I told the office person that I had a 10:30 appointment and I also have another appointment in Prescott Valley and they are putting me in a difficult position. Another check and there was no response when they checked with the Tech so I was told they will PROBABLY be coming out soon. After waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes I walked out and just made it to the other appointment. They tried to charge me $100.01 CO PAY, I have no co pay. This is my 4th of 5th nightmare experience at this place. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE CHECK INTO YRMC MEDICAL IMAGING OR PRESCOTT MEDICAL IMAGING. If I could give less than one star, I would have. My doctor has sent over authorization to get my previous mammogram images and was told they did not have them. I contacted my previous doctor and confirmed that my previous mammograms were done at Simon Med on Greenfield. I have called Simon Med and have left three messages telling them that they do have authorization from my current doctor and they do have my previous mammogram images. I have politely asked them in every message to call me back so we can resolve the issue. They have never returned any of my three messages. Now I am faced with starting over and having nothing to compare my image with. I have advised my doctor to send me elsewhere for my mammogram and we will start over, but he is not authorized to send me back to Simon Med since they clearly do not care about their clients. read more

Actually minus one star if I could! Went through a LONG and unsuccessful " Fast and easy online scheduling" only to have to call their scheduling phone number to get it done. She said she didn't recommend the online option as it has many issues. Got up early to go to appointment. Received a few texts the morning of my appointment about the time, text when there to notify them, etc..(all good). I walk in and the place is packed, the young lady receptionist informed me it would be a 3 hour wait. I told her I had an appointment. She just shrugged her shoulders, glared at me, and didn't say a word. She could care less. I walked out never to return to Simon Med again. Incredible waste of my time online, on the phone, and going to the facility. I called Southwest Medical Imaging in south Gilbert the next morning, made an appointment for 90 minutes from when I called, took me right in and was done! They were awesome!!! 15 Stars! My first appointment was made for the Banner location. When i arrived, they said whoever booked it, made it at another location! So i had to reschedule for the mext day. My appointment was at 8:45 so I arrived at 820pm. The girl at the front desk said they wouldn't take me until 945pm as they were running late. She said she should've called but didn't get around to it. Still sitting in the waiting room after 10pm and was told it would another 20 minutes. They close at 10. It would've been nice if she would've called to let me know. The entire time we sat in waiting room, she was on her phone searching. Horrible horrible horrible customer/patient service. After all that nonsense, it was less expensive to pay out of pocket than through insurance. I know now that I can go anywhere if I am paying for it, and most certainly will not go to SimonMed. Simonmed is a mess. They removed chairs from their waiting room supposedly for Covid. This allows A LOT of people to stand around in the spaces left by the removed chairs. They do not require masks or social distancing. Maskless visitors and guests are allowed to aggregate in the packed waiting room. They run late so you are stuck in a packed, unsafe waiting room. read more

I was initially seen last month for what(my order said) was a mammogram and MRI. The office took it upon themselves to provide me an ultrasound first as that's what's 'protocol' for my age despite the fact that I have immediate family(sister diagnosed at 31) history of breast cancer, pain, and a lump(all stated on the order..). Then the front desk billing proceeded to tell me I owed $400+ for the ultrasound!!! Not knowing any better, I got setup on a payment plan and paid $50 out of pocket. Fast forward to last week when I went in to actually get an ultrasound(for something completely unrelated mind you); the front office proceeded to tell me I owed MORE money. They told me they 'called my insurance' of which they did not because I was standing there when the receptionist said,"the doctor didn't sign this order, is this for the same issue?" I have YET to receive a mammogram and will be coming into this location tomorrow morning for both the original procedure I came in for and the ultrasound that they tried to charge me for again! I have both verbal and written proof from my insurance company and Simon Med themselves stating I do not owe any money.. of which there's magically no record of being notated when I called their billing department. I plan on coming in tomorrow and getting what I need done as my health is top priority and I will be expecting a refund for what I have paid. Please do your research. There are too many companies out here knowingly charging you co-pays and fees they claim are going to your deductible that are in fact 100% covered by your insurance. But by the time they submit the claim(of which they wait the longest they can to do), you will have already paid them and will wait a year to receive a refund check in the mail. I made an appointment for my annual mammogram screening which is covered 100% by my health insurance. After I checked in, went into the back for my screening. The radiologist called my doctor and changed it to a diagnostic screening since I have a history of previous cyst. This was done without my knowledge or consent. Had anyone asked me I would have told them that it has already beed determined by my surgeon that there is no further action needed regarding the cyst. Since it was changed to a diagnostic screening it is not covered by my insurance. I have spoken to Alelxis and Margarita regarding this issue. They both say they will call me back with a solution and then I never hear from them again. I have called numerous times and sent several emails with no response. I have driven to the facility trying to get help and all I get is a business card with a name on it that never replies to your request for help. Horrible read more

My doctor referred me specifically to Simon med. I filled out all of my paperwork online including uploading photo copies of my insurance card. I received multiple text messages and emails both confirming my appointment and prompting me to check in early. On the day of my appointment when checking in they told me I should go somewhere else because they don't take my insurance. A complete waste of my time. read more

Thought it couldn't get worse than the bumbling and fumbling signing in experience, where all patients arrive 15 minutes before my appointment that I spent 25 minutes registering for a screening mammogram, but then waited to 45 minutes past my appointment to get in. First the front desk personnel had a hard time finding my registration, as they did with other people. All but two people were forced to wait outside, even the very frail elderly patients. While my mammogram was well done, the rest was awful. Then I received my "mammo" letter and it doesn't even have the correct provider on it. So I didn't trust the accuracy of the letter and called to get an accurate letter. The person answering the "Women's Care Coordinator" number just argued with me that this wasn't a result only a mammo letter, which apparently inaccurate information should not cause me any alarm. When I finally convinced her that I wanted an accurate letter, she said you have to go through medical records and transferred me to a call center to make an appointment. Finally, I got hem to transfer me to medical record and....I had to leave a message. I will never go to SimonMed again, if there is a choice! read more

Horrible place! I stood in line outside in the heat for one hour just to get to the front desk to be told that my appointment was not in their system. My appointment was a "stat" priority appointment for a diagnostic breast exam. It was supposed to be at 12:15 I arrived early , at 11:30, but after waiting in line for an hour of course my appointment time had already passed. They made no attempt to try to fit me in. They just sent me to another location with an appointment five days from now. This is not how an appointment listed as "stat" priority should be handled! We were told to arrive at 5:30 for an X-ray and check in for a 6:00 MRI. The checkin and X-ray were done promptly and we were placed in a waiting area for the MRI. At 6:10 an employee told us they were running behind and the MRI previously scheduled for 6:00 would now be pushed back to 7:00. It is now 7:45 and we are still waiting to be seen. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I was in the waiting area for an hour and a half waiting to get called back for my ultrasound. I had only had 2 previous ultrasounds before my ultrasound at SimonMed. It was by far the worst ultrasound I have ever had. I was so disappointed. I couldn't see the screen the entire time, & the tech didn't explain anything onscreen the entire ultrasound. She refused to do 3D imaging, which i've never had happen before. I was looking forward to seeing my baby & was extremely disappointed by the service & by the ultrasound tech. read more

First, they do not make appointments for X-Rays. X-Rays are done on a first come, first served basis. It is best to go there early in the morning to avoid the wait time getting longer and longer due to them falling behind, it happens, they get behind. I only had to wait about 30 minutes before I was taken back and was out in about 20 minutes. read more
