We almost didn't eat here because the outside of the restaurant isn't welcoming, the windows are tinted so dark!! But I'm so glad we did because it's such a cute diner, the servers are so friendly, and the food is AMAZING! I had the club sandwich and it was delicious, and the fries are so unique and perfectly crisp! My son had the chicken tenders and the breading didn't stay on well if you cut them up, but it was so tasty!! My son is pretty fussy about tenders and he ate most of his chicken! My husband had the biscuit blowout and he thoroughly enjoyed it and the portion was quite large! My daughter had a pancake with egg and sausage. Everything was delicious except for her sausage, it was super salty. But the pancake was so good! I wished we lived closer to come here more often but this will definitely be our go to spot whenever we are in Guthrie! read more

The diner was inviting just like a diner should be. The people were friendly. The menu was very much what one would expect at a diner. The food, however, was bland, very bland. I was with a group of people who almost all ordered something different. I wanted to like their food, we all did; it simply lacked in flavor. Even a little salt would have helped some of the dishes, but salt would have helped only so much. I was disappointed, as were the rest of my group. We came here because of all the great reviews. Some which mention fast service however that was not our experience and I wish we'd known because we did not have the time to wait so long. So I feel compelled to share my experience. We arrived about 11:30 on a Sunday. The restaurant was full. We were sat immediately and ordered right away. At the time we ordered most tables already had food. There were only about three or four tables waiting on food. It ended up taking about 45 MINUTES to get our food!! I have been to many small diners that were packed and still had food out in 10-15 mins. Anyway, I kept hoping, well it must be worth it with so many people here and the good reviews. Sadly, I cannot say it was. It was not bad, mine and my son's order were good although my order was wrong but I wasn't about to ask for it to be fixed, but my husband did say his hamburger steak was tasteless. First time eating here as my brother took me. I love the atmosphere, the staff was polite and fun to engage with, and the food was hot, really good and fast. This is a wonderful restaurant. It's not fancy but if you like a down home kind of restaurant with homemade food Simone's Cafe is it. I moved to Oklahoma 3 years ago choosing to live in Guthrie. I have had several meals there both breakfast and lunch never have I left disappointed. I really love their chicken strips it is a crispy light coating and the other day when I was there they had a special for Indian Taco's. They were sooo good the best I have had since moving to Oklahoma. Everything I have had for breakfast has been so yummy. Give this restaurant a try and you won't be sorry. Great food and the service is great too. The cooks do a great job and the waitresses are so friendly and you never feel ignored. read more

A sweet little diner in the heart of Guthrie. We drove here from Edmond to try it. My husband and I both had the chicken fried steaks for breakfast. It was alright. The diner was super busy. I saw some pretty yummy plates others ordered that I'd love to come back and try. The service was pretty great and our waitress is very friendly. I have yet to see the inside of Simones. Our company places a large order once a month in Guthrie and this is my experience. I have uploaded an updated menu photo posted to Simones Facebook on April 2021. I ordered the lunch club with fries. It had two slices of ham, bacon and turkey, lettuce, thin sliced tomato, and Mayo on a grilled hamburger bun. The fries were warm and crispy when they arrived to me. The side salad was great. It's an actual green salad mix and came with two white onions, a cucumber, and two dressings (not pictured). Overall, it's worth four stars to me. The service is always great and we keep returning. read more

This place is small but mighty. Everything is homemade and they use real eggs, not something pre-mixed. Stopping here was another last-minute decision, but Simone's was a nice little discovery. I had the pancake, the biscuit, eggs and bacon. The biscuit was as good as a biscuit should be -- soft, flaky and not too much baking powder. The pancake tasted like it had cake mix in it, so it was quite yummy. Besides having great food, everything was priced well. Breakfast is a relatively cheap meal, but it gets priced really high in the city. Simone's is clearly trying to feed people and not make an 80% profit. I wish I lived closer so this could be a regular breakfast joint. read more

Wow! Talk about some real good home cookin'! Driving home from Nebraska back home to Texas and we needed something to keep us moving. We selected Simone's mainly because we have a cat with the same name. Well, we selected wisely. I had the steak with pinto beans and mashed potatoes. My wife had cheeseburger, daughter had a JLOT (BLT with jalapeños instead of bacon, and sautéed onions added). Both were delicious according to them. Dad and daughter's BF had chicken fried steak and chicken strips respectively, and really enjoyed their meals. Destiny was the cherry on top. She attended to all of our family's requests and questions. Our glasses were never empty, and she was so friendly. There are quite a few quirky and uplifting signs and pictures bringing us back to home style place. If we're ever going back through Historic Guthrie, I'm going schedule my trip to be sure I'm able to visit Simone's Cafe. read more

A wonderful small-town joint with a killer breakfast! After wandering around downtown Guthrie and stopping for coffee, yelp pointed us here for lunch. Upon first glance, I was wary, but I'm glad we gave this place a shot. The menu is small and not fussy. I tried the biscuit blowout: biscuits topped with every breakfast meat, hash browns, cheese, and eggs, smothered in gravy. I was floored by the portions and could have easily taken half of it home. And it was delicious! Everything was cooked to my liking and the bacon in particular was fantastic. This place is a laid back, friendly, small-town cafe that is huge on value (the two of us ate a mountain of food for less than $20). Really friendly service. Large portions and modest prices. The dining room could have been cleaner; it's true. (I'm knocking off one star for that part.) Terrific fried chicken and insanely good biscuits and gravy. (Can you tell I'm a hillbilly at heart? It's hard to beat home cooked Southern food!) We'll return on our next trip up to Guthrie (it's a good forty-five minutes from our home in northwest Oklahoma City!), but I do wish the restaurateur would do something about the dining room -- too many dirty tables and too many flies. I've been to Guthrie countless times to visit family but had never been to Simone's before now. Staff was friendly upon entry and were quickly assured by a fellow diner that it was THE BEST breakfast in town. Apparently there are two breakfast camps is Guthrie -- Simone's or Katie's. I have been to Katie's a lot so I was curious to compare. They serve breakfast all day but the menu isn't huge. Lots of combo options including French toast, grits, omelettes and some damn good biscuits and sausage gravy! I also got a side of crispy bacon and it was four slices of amazing salty pork heaven. The one room restaurant is cute and small-town, with sheet metal walls and small tables. My only request is turn off the Iradio heavy metal music. Better than Katie's? Verdict still out for me. Saw the episode on Discover Oklahoma and had to come in. Ordered the third pound hamburger with grilled onions and American cheese and it was incredibly good! Possibly the best I've ever had! Noticed the bulk of the customers had ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and it looked so good! Will be back to try that next. The cafe is quaint and the service was first rate. The prices are quite low in my opinion. Really big cheeseburger with fries was $6.84 total. You cannot beat that! See you soon Simone! read more

We can't abide hoards (and we mean hoards) of flies on us and around us while eating. We walked in for the first time and out within 30 seconds. Grossed out to the max. Usually a lot of flies means dirty... McD's just down the road was also covered in flies and there was filth on the floor and many tables... Also walked out. That said, the hostess/cashier was very friendly and the staff moving it out to serve patrons! The parking lot was packed. We just don't understand how people can sit in a cloud of flies, eat, and stay sane while batting off flies constantly. May try again, but only when the weather is cold. read more
