Giving this place 1 star for the cold tacos! Omg I've had bad tacos before but never bad and cold ! Really bummed because I wanted to like this place. It's pretty and they have parking but the food was really bad. First of all , you can tell that the left over tortillas are used for their chips . The chips are soggy (soo much oil) and chewy because they either aren't fried correctly or they have been sitting around for soo long. I had the chicken taco dinner and the tortillas were so cold and oily and the chicken needed salt of flavor . read more

Ordered two regular burritos when we get home to eat I cut the burrito in half it was filled with rice and beans also Two diced up pieces of meat that's not what I expected. Where's the meat. I understand that meat is expensive. I hope that this was not a joke they are looking bad. I have gone there plenty of times and it's never happened before. read more

Not bad for first couple weeks to been open, plus Prices are competitive Place is clean hopefully they keep it like that Food quality is good but there is always room to improve Cons They add salt to the arrachera you never add salt on the meat that makes the taste super salty 2 They wrapped the tacos when the food is to go and that makes the paper stick in the tortilla when is already in a to go container And last the speed of the preparation is slow, they need more practice I guess, but I would definitely comeback tacos are good super burrito is big read more

This was an amazing experience. The meat was fresh and tasty, their tacos are perfect. They offered to make my mother, whom I was with, a chimmy chonga (deep fried burrito) even though it was not on the menu. The staff was efficient and friendly. The interior is extremely bright and clean. My family and I will be returning often read more

Wow! Great tacos. All the meat seemed grilled and had so much flavor. I tried pastor chicken and asada. Asada was the best. So good

I used to love this spot. Recently flavor on meat hasn't been consistent. The amount of meat also has dropped and barely any toppings (cilantro & onion barely there) sopes also be too soggy. Not sure if new people are cooking or what's going on read more

This is a great new find in my quest of all the best taquerias in the world. Very comfortable and clean newly decorated dining room. Fresh chips with every order. The steak tacos and burritos are fantastic. The flavor reminds me of La Pasadita, which is a staple. Delicious food, excellent red and green salsas, rice and beans were great too. I've been here twice in a couple weeks, and will be back for more! read more

Simòn tacos catered my sons 2nd birthday and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. I ordered shrimp, chicken and steak tacos for 30 people and the food was excellent! My guests raved about the freshness and quality of the food. It came with very generous portions of sides. Definitely will consider having them cater future parties. The team at Simòn was very helpful in planning the food quantities and packed the food tightly so that it was still hot once you get the party started. read more

What is the bad smell when you first walk in? I almost walked out this time, the smell was bad. I noticed it the last few times I went there, too. The place looks good, clean. But I just couldn't shake the smell the other day I went there. I'm not sure I could go back again. That smell was awful. We have ordered many times and the food was good. The chips are great with the green sauce. They have a vegetarian taco which is great for the vegetarian in my house. The steak tacos are good. The rice is ok, kind of on the dry and bland side. The re fried beans are tasty. read more

The staff was very kind and welcoming. The guacamole was pretty spot on as well as the vege burritos. 2 things that seem simple but so many places can't seem to get right. read more

The food was awesome and friendly staff tried this place never been here looked it up on google and it sent me to a great place

The tacos were really good. I ordered four steak tacos. Only problems I had was the meat tasted a little over cooked. I love the remodel with the new AC system. At the time it was a bit too cold but that's to preference so not a big deal. Definitely cleaner than the last place that was here. Overall I would say keep it up Simon Tacos. I love having a small local Mexican restaurant near me especially since I'm 100% Mexican. It really adds culture to the neighborhood. Only thing to do now I guess would be to always stay consistent with complying to constructive feedback and this place will be on its way to a permanent joy. read more

Terrible service ask for food to go they serve people after me because they eating there Would NOT recommended to anyone read more

Just ordered food from here and I am extremely disappointed. Up until today this was my new favorite go to spot in the neighborhood. I always get tostadas and they are delicious. Until today. I ordered tostadas which has always came with two shells.Until now. I get my food get home and am greeted with a sad excuse of what their tostadas used to be. Not only was there one shell but the toppings where sparse. Instead of guacamole I got a half smashed avocado chuck ? Also because the food was so greasy my tostada was completely soaked through. Remind you I love three blocks down so it soaked through in under ten minutes. The two shells would of prevented this. If the owner is going to change up the quality of their food and charge the same price they should notify their customers prior to purchase. Called the kid that was working at the front desk to say how greasy my food was and got shrugged off. Absolutely terrible customer service. If I wanted soft tacos I would of ordered tacos. read more

Staff is pleasant, food is ok-good and the décor is ok. I would go back if in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't make a special trip. I had the taco lunch special. They offered chips, but I passed because I wasn't that hungry. read more

Glad I found this spot! Good steak taco. Very solid al pastor taco. Good salsa. Chips while you wait is an added bonus. So is the parking lot if you're driving. Prices might be a tad higher than other places but not a deterrent by any means. First time here and happy to put this in the regular work lunch rotation. read more

Had the steak tacos, they were excellent and tasted really fresh. The staff was super sweet too--will definitely go back!

I stopped here once before and got some steak tacos they were good so I decide to stop in for the Super Burrito steak it was very good again this place is a lot better than the old place that was there (La palapita) if you want some good tacos this is the place to go read more

The steak burrito was amazing. So much steak flowing from the tortilla shell like a river of juicy beef. The perfect amount of cilantro and onion to complement the perfectly marinated and seasoned beef. It was glorious and so filling. This place is a total gem and worthy of being a destination to satisfy your need for beef. read more

I really love this place. I love it better than the two taco spots that were in this location before. I am blessed to live two blocks away from here. The girls who run the register are really really nice and respectful. The owner always makes you feel special and its very nice to always see his face when im there. I believe they should open a second location. read more

Hands down the best steak tacos you'll ever have in your life. No one comes even close unless you're paying $10 for a gourmet taco. This spot is a hidden gem if they only would market more you wouldn't be able to sit in this place. This is the only Mexican spot I'll ever eat again read more

This used to be a great spot, but everytime I come here back the tacos and portions are different. They keep getting smaller. Tacos were burnt and the wait time was horrible. 20 minutes for 6 tacos... You used to be my go to spot, sadly I wont be returning.. read more

Best steak tacos in Portage Park! The homemade chips and salsa are delicious. Very clean and great service.

I've come here a lot for my lunch break and honestly, the tacos are some of the best I've had. They have great lunch specials, with my go to being the $7 2 taco dinner special that comes with rice and beans. The tacos aren't anything fancy, I always get chicken and then they put cilantro and onions on them unless you say you don't want it, but they are delicious. For the price, you can't really go wrong. They have around 5 other specials like this, including quesadillas, a taco bowl, and flautas. You get fresh chips to start with for free along with two different salsas, a red, hotter salsa, and a green, mild one. It's never too busy and food is quick, ready within ~7 minutes. My friend got the empanadas today that also come with sour cream, guacamole, rice, and beans, and the guacamole was amazing and tasted very fresh. They have a decent sized parking lot as well so you don't have to struggle with parking. There is an outdoor seating area as well that is perfect on a warm day. Simòn Tacos is Portage Park's gem. read more

Great tacos! I usually get the steak tacos with a side of beans and rice. Great quality and fast service.

Greatest tacos I've ever had in Chicago and I've been to many Authentic Mexican restaurants. Way to go Team keep up the great work

Pretty good taco spot with large portions. I've only had their steak tacos and guacamole but not were above average and worth it

It's a good location with a good amount of parking at the place and around. I love their steak burrito dinner and taco dinner. I give them a 3 star review because of the slow, unorganized service along with having to deal with staff gossiping and conversing in a very unprofessional manor. I can't quite say I like this place but I do like the food. I just wish they could decide if they should be fast food or an actual restaurant. read more
