I normally don't go out of my way to leave a negative review, but this time I felt I had to. First of all, on the positive side the Simmitri rep spent a good amount of time preparing a decent proposal for me, and then explaining its details to me (that's why 2 stars and not 1). After considering 4 vendors I decided to go with a competitor of Simmitri's, whereupon I promptly communicated that decision to Simmitri's rep. Sadly, Simmitri's rep took it badly and sent me a long message (diatribe?) on why it was the wrong decision. how he had spent so much time on the proposal, and how he wished I had communicated my decision to him earlier (which BTW I did right after I made it). In a few decades of dealing with vendors I've rarely seen such entitlement or sour grapes from a sales rep. Just be aware of this when you engage with Simmitri. read more

Had questions regarding adding battery and additional panels. Lonnie provided a free consultation via Zoom. He answered all my questions, and made several suggestions based on my specific situation -- even though those suggestions did not include purchasing equipment right now. read more

In the recent rain and wind storms we had quite a few shingles ripped off of our roof. So since we needed to replace the roof anyway we decided to seriously look into getting solar with a backup battery. We were tired of dealing with PG&E power outages and wanted to reduce our electric bill. Simmitri was one of the businesses we got in touch with. Nick and Cole were very helpful with getting us a quote for solar and roof replacement. Especially with the crunch for people wanting solar right now due to the NEM 3.0 changes that are coming in April. They even got me on a 4-way conference call with the owner to answer some of my questions. Ultimately we ended up going with another company due to them having better financing but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Simmitri to others. When I told them that I was using someone else they didn't try to dissuade me or tell me how bad the other company was. In fact, they knew the sales rep from the other company and told me I was in good hands. Class act all the way with these guys. read more

After interviewing 3 solar companies I selected Simmiti for my dolar installation. The planning and submissions to PGE and SCCounty Building were done in a timely manner. The installation crew was superb. The inspector was highly impressed with the installation. Ana, my PM, stayed on all parties to get the final steps of approvals. I highly recommend Simmitri for your solar project. read more

I hired Simmitri to replace our roof and install a solar system, including batteries. I spoke to roof contractors and solar contractors. Jonathan was as knowledgeable as any roof contractor and more knowledgeable than any of the other solar contractors. His straightforward and honest answers gave me confidence that he could execute the project. Simmitri did an outstanding job on the project and I will happily recommend them to any of my friends. They had separate teams for each of the tasks -- roof demolition, roof construction, gutters, solar & batteries. Every team was hard working and paid attention to quality. Every employee was pleasant to deal with, they worked quickly, and the workmanship was excellent. Can I give these guys more than 5 stars? read more

I'm writing this review to commend Freddy and Omar for their outstanding service. They are roofing experts and I would highly recommend this company mainly because of them. The place I live had some problems with a rotten roof. This company made sure we were happy with the results. They stand by their word so I will honor this with the highest rating. Nick is accessible and Andy has also been very helpful in rectifying things and probably should be a counselor or author since he's a very personable and effective communicator. I believe the residents here will be very appreciative of their coordination. Thank you to the team. read more

I have never had any guttering cleaned and repaired in my life....I have lived by myself for many years and I am pretty good at doing various things, but every year I try to budget for a "project "on my house that needs someone higher than my paygrade. There were weeds growing, very well, I might add, in some of my gutters so I decided to have a gutter repair and cleaning done. I had no expectations due to my lack of reference, but right from the start, the office personnel hooked me in with their very helpful approach. I didn't even get 2 more bids which is the usual norm. for me. Logistics were worked out and believe me, I kind of gave the company a run for their money, but they accommodated me and I am a happy girl. Yes, I would recommend them, its a shame they don't do hardwood...for next years project! read more

Freddy and Omar from Simmitri completed maintenance, repair, and updating on my concrete tile roof. Before writing an estimate, they took time to carefully inspect my roof and get numerous photographs to show me the issues that they would address. They were absolutely professional and conscientious. I'm very grateful for their excellent work and highly recommend them. Thank you, Freddy, Omar, and Simmitri! Jocelyn K. read more

Reached out to Simmitri to get a quote for leaky roof repair. Initial communication was really prompt. However, they didn't show up for the appointment. When I messaged, they informed me that their team had some equipment breakdown so they would come at the same time the next day. It was a no-show again despite telling me that they're on the way when I messaged again. Edit: updating star value and review because a technician did finally call, come and apologize. He answered all our questions and seemed honest and budget friendly Would love for them to improve their communication and just let clients know if they're running late read more

We want to thank Nick Rogers, Charlie, Andrew and the Simmitri team. Although Simmitri does Solar, they also do other services such as roofs, gutters etc. We requested Nick Rogers, their rep for small roof repair work that our previous contractor left out. Nick was very professional and communicative. Gave us a reasonable quote and their office set up a date as soon as we signed the contract. Their roof repair man Charlie was wonderful. He took care of the repairs. There was one part that was not available and it was not easy to find. Charlie managed to get it and take care of our roof. Through out the process Simmitri communicated with us which we really appreciate very much. I give them 5 stars for 1) Communication 2) Professionalism 3) Reasonable Costs. We would definitely contact them for our future needs and I highly recommend this company. read more

I wanted to get solar before the NEM 2.0 deadline expired so I collected bids from multiple companies. Their bid wasn't the cheapest, but I picked them. I think I picked them because their sales rep Lonnie C. was very good at showcasing the strengths of the company (which were important to me) and their online reviews were pretty good. My project manager Pamela R. was very attentive and responded very quickly to every email that I sent her. There were was a minor hiccup or two during the project but everything was dealt with in a timely manner. After hearing from my neighbor about what he went through with a different vendor, I am very glad I chose Simmitri. I would choose them again. read more

I looked at a few companies before I made the decision to hire Simmitri for a new roof, gutters and solar and I am so glad that I did! Lonnie, who was my Sales Consultant has amazing patience and was always available to answer my questions and was quick to respond. Throughout the process, I dealt with many different individuals who all took pride in the job they did and the end result is simply phenomenal. Gus, Jason, Rachel and everyone else were all very responsive from the operations side and from start to finish, the production team was efficient, polite, and worked hard to keep the area around our house clean. The solar installation and permit process went better than expected, I just can't believe how quick the job went and how nice everyone was. I highly recommend Simmitri for your roof, gutter or solar needs. They are a family owned business that really do "treat you like family". Thank you Siimmitri for your outstanding customer service and workmanship! read more

About a year ago Simmitri did my new roof and solar. One of the things that impressed me most when starting this job is that Jonathan makes sure that every job is done properly and the customer is happy. Since then, my PG&E bills during the summer have averaged about $40.00. Today is a year later and I am not a tech savvy person that had the router changed for my Wi-Fi service. Nick VERY patiently took me through the process of getting the system data performing correctly. He went above and beyond to make sure this was taken care of. It's nice to know that there is a company out there that will not let you down even a year later after the installation. Thanks for all yoru help Nick, much appreciated! read more

Need a new roof and was looking to add to add solar at the same time. Sales process was efficient and the quote was in line with their competitors. Roof was installed on time and despite their being a backlog for parts (COVID) they worked with me to ensure the solar could be installed before the end of the year. The initial solar Enphase hub failed shortly after install and had to be replaced. Simmitri were out to install it the day after it arrived. Overall very happy with the level of service. I was referred to Simmitri by a coworker who had both solar and a new roof installed. I had met with another company prior to our meeting with Jonathan... what a difference. His level of professionalism and expertise in the area was amazing. He was not just there to make a sale, he wanted to also help my wife and I to understand why going solar has many benefits beyond the pocketbook. Just to be sure, I met with yet another company, and was sold. Not only did we end up with a system that is excellent for our family's needs, producing well beyond the projections, but the price was excellent to boot! Furthermore, turn around time on the project was astounding. Work began on a couple weeks after agreeing to go with Simmitri and the roof was replaced and solar installed in a week. Overall, if you are looking for solar , I could not recommend Simmitri enough. Andrea and Bruce read more

It is a relief to know there is still a company out there that takes pride in their work and reputation. We absolutely recommend Simmitri for any of your roofing needs. read more

I have to give Pam Garcia and Affordable Roofing five stars for the brilliant job they did on my roof. I got their information because they are Certified GAF Installers. To my knowledge, GAF is the manufacturer of the best roofing material and certify only the best contractors. They had the old roof off, replaced the rotted wood beams, placed fresh plywood and installed our new shingles, gutters and vents. They matched our house color and painted the flashings too. They were in and out in 3 days. I've seen many neighbors have their roofing jobs stall for WEEKS! The prices we were offered were fair in comparison to the other bids we received as well. They also did a great job cleaning up the yard, leaving no nails behind. I probably sound like a commercial. But of all of the contractors I've had at my house - and there have been plenty - Affordable Roofing is the ONLY one that I'd refer to a friend. read more

Have you ever had that helpless feeling when you see leaking from your ceiling and you don't know the first thing about roof repair? That was me. Until my wife and I called Simmitri and asked for their help during a holiday weekend, hoping that someone would at least hear our message and then maybe get back to us after the weekend. You cannot understand how grateful my wife and I were when we received a sympathetic, supportive phone call from Viki from Simmitri who made us feel better by saying that Simmitri was working and made me feel that she would do what she could to address our issue. Then, later that day (again during the holiday weekend), Freddie and Reuben came out to our home and spent at least 2 hours looking for the source of the leak and would not stop until they found it. Freddue was like a Roof Detective! He was patient in explaining the issue and persistent until he found the root cause. He tarped the affected area of the roof, covered the large hole in our ceiling's drywall with a temporary fix, and left the home clean and my wife and me comforted. Much praise and props to Freddie and his teammate. My wife and I trusted Simmitri years ago to install our roof and solar and, years later, I know my trust was well founded. This was *huge* for us and our family, so very thankful here. Great to see such great post-purchase support and warranty. read more

Consummate professionals. I hired them to remove and replace my solar array when I needed a roof repair. They were quick with quote and explained all the details, gave a fair price, and worked very well with my roofer even though I was not using their roofing service (and the roofer ended up being way off his original time estimate). They returned calls in a timely manner, and and kept in touch with me about progress all through the job. I will be returning to them if I have need of solar panel work in the future. read more

It's been over a year now since the solar was installed. I asked for 6.9MW for the year. The system produced 8.0MW so the system should exceed my request for the whole 25 years with normal panel degrade. Note that a MW extra only gets you about $50 because PG&E's overage credit is only 4 cents a KW so that much more isn't that desirable...... we'll see what happens in a rainy year though. My one gripe is the Enphase 7 micro inverters max out at 245 watts. If the panel produces more the excess is "clipped". I'm seeing 5 hours of clipping in May/June and some clipping in every month except December and January on a sunny day. In May/June I think I'm clipping 1KW or more per day. They told me Enphase 7+ (max 295w and only $25 more) would have exceeded the single circuit limit. Enphase can handle 3 circuits and I would have paid the additional. ..... plus maybe I could have gotten by with 1-2 fewer panels and only needed the single circuit. The clipping makes it very tough to determine how much degrade I'm seeing from either dirt or aging. read more

Couldn't be happier with the whole process we've enjoyed with Simmitri. We spoke to a bunch of different companies and couldn't find anyone who would do an install on our CalPac (metal) roof. Our research showed SunPower had the best panel technology and they immediately referred us to Simmitri. Simmitri's heritage as a roofing company meant they had no problem with the roof or guaranteeing their work. Simmitri did a thorough energy audit on our home before finalizing their configuration and came up with a number of excellent recommendations to address energy "leakage", (furnace, ducting and outdated pool equipment) that reduced the number of panels we needed. They installed 17 SunPower E20-327-C-AC panels with the integrated microinverter and six months later they have been performing better than projected. I highly recommend the Simmitri team. read more

It took two more trips out to my house before it was done. I work everyday so I'm unable to to sit at home and monitor\babysit. A company that I hire to do a job. I paid my bill upfront in full. I met with two other companies before deciding to go with Simmitri for solar on our home. Their sales consultant came to our house and answered all of our questions and explained everything thoroughly. He made us completely comfortable with our decision to choose Simmitri. He was on time from the very first meeting, honest, knowledgeable and responsive throughout the entire process. Any question I had was answered almost immediately, and if it wasn't answered right away, someone at least acknowledged that they were looking into it and got back to me. The communication is what made my experience with Simmitri exceptional, not to mention the solar looks great and is producing even better. I would highly recommend them, amazing product and amazing customer service! read more

I got bids from Sunrun and SolarCity. Simmitri was comparable to Sunrun and slightly cheaper by just a hair -- what made me go with simmitri in the end was their great customer service. Midway into the contract I learned of Tesla's aggressive solar campaign to corner the market and realized I could potentially save by going with Tesla. However, my sales rep at Simmitri pointed me to the large number of negative reviews with Tesla (broken roofs, skipped inspections, broken panels) and decided to spare myself the headache and stick with peace of mind high quality customer service at simmitri. Overall I'm very pleased with the service I got. Throughout the whole process it was headache free and never had any trouble getting a hold of anyone at simmitri. It's a family business and they've been servicing the Bay Area for 30+ years. Would highly recommend to anyone willing to support your local businesses and their high quality work and professionalism speaks for itself. read more

My parents used Affordable Roofing (now Simmitri) to have their new roof installed five years ago. They had a fantastic experience. They worked directly with the owners, Pam and Richard Garcia. The process was clean and efficient. Richard visited the job site a few times to ensure that all was going well. It was a five-star experience. My husband and I are now in the process of building a house. We are using a general contractor, but we told him that we wanted to use Simmitri since my parents received such fantastic service when they did their roof. Unfortunately, we made the wrong decision. We should have simply used the roofer that our general contractor would have chosen. During this project, we never had any contact with the owners. The communication about our project was horrible. We were rarely kept apprised of what was going on. I had to badger them if I wanted to know anything about our project. I sent emails to my contact person, and those emails went unanswered for days. I would then call their main line, and only then would I receive a response. About half way through our project, we discovered that the workers who were doing our roof didn't even work for Simmitri. Apparently, our project was "outsourced" to another roofing company working with Simmitri. All of this was setup without our knowledge or approval. Lastly, the workers were not always professional--at one point, they left a pile of garbage on our roof, and it stayed there for over a week. The work we had done ended up fine (thus the two stars instead of one), but it was a struggle every step of the way. Simmitri has now lost some very loyal customers. No one in our family will recommend them again. read more

I was highly recommended to Simmitri by a friend and our neighbors. I was advised they were previously known as Affordable Roofing and Solar. We preferred a local roofing business to make some repairs to our roof since some of our cement tiles were cracked and loose on top of our two-story home. When I called, Mike was very professional and courteous. He scheduled our estimate and emailed us our repair proposal with pictures. Way to go Simmitri, thank you for going paperless! :) Even after completing the job, I added on a special request. The last rain, we had a waterfall of water coming out of our gutter. This gutter was hard to reach and Charlie happily agreed to check it out, this reassured me. We also had been hearing critters in the attic and wanted to seal off any entrances they may have found. Charlie did great work on our roof and we have not had any critters since (or gutter waterfalls)!!! He was so kind to return back to our home and clean our gutter. Rachel was also a pleasure to work with, she answered all my payment questions and sent us an email receipt. If you are looking for professional and kind service, call Simmitri and schedule your appointment asap. We had to wait for our estimate appointment and our repair appointment because of lots of homeowners preparing for the anticipated "El Nino" storm. Work was completed as promised on our repair appointment date and no debris left behind. Well worth the wait. I am highly satisfied with their service and glad that our roof is ready for the rain coming! ^_^ read more

A.R. finally got back to me. My paperwork was lost when the person in charge of it went into the hospital. Once they found it, they contacted me, gave me a very good quote and gave me a Starbucks card to apologize. I also have a small roof repair that needs to be done so they immediately came out to quote that. Every company can have a blip. Since they did such good work the first two times, it is clearly worth giving them another chance for this issue. I will update again once the work is done. But for now, i take back the prior one star rating. read more

Affordable Roofing installed our new roof 2+ years ago. Our neighbor installed a new roof about 2 years before us. Our neighbor initially raved about their roofer, but after the one-year warranty expired, they experienced problems and rescinded their strongly positive recommendation they previously told us. We settled on using Affordable Roofing. We own a 4,400+ square feet home, two stories, with a very steep roof. Their roofers worked very hard. They were very respectful of my family, my home, and my neighborhood -- and cleaned up at the end of each day. We had a large portion of our new roof installed as solar voltaic panels that were integrated in the roofing tiles. It is hard to tell the these solar panels from the non-solar roofing material. Affordable Roofing also replaced our solar hot water system and replaced all of our gutters with pre-painted gutters that (amazingly) identically matched the trim color of our home. There were some "hiccups" early on, but Affordable Roofing was quite rapid in their response to correct things. We remain extremely happy with our new roof, solar energy, and solar hot water. The color they helped us pick looks better than I anticipated. Each day when I drive up to our garage I remain very pleased with the roof's appearance, and truly enjoy that we have an energy-producing roof, too. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending Affordable Roofing. read more

We received knowledgeable advice. The person we spoke to was very well informed which helped us make the decision to install the panels. Our goal was to have the panels installed before the new year for the tax advantage. With only a few weeks until the end of the year they were able to expertly install the panels in time. We were kept informed every step of the way including scheduled meetings with the city's building inspector. We are very happy with the results!!! read more
