In the recent rain and wind storms we had quite a few shingles ripped off of our roof. So since we needed to replace the roof anyway we decided to seriously look into getting solar with a backup battery. We were tired of dealing with PG&E power outages and wanted to reduce our electric bill. Simmitri was one of the businesses we got in touch with. I have never had any guttering cleaned and repaired in my life....I have lived by myself for many years and I am pretty good at doing various things, but every year I try to budget for a "project "on my house that needs someone higher than my paygrade. There were weeds growing, very well, I might add, in some of my gutters so I decided to have a gutter repair and cleaning done. I had no expectations due to my lack of reference, but right from the start, the office personnel hooked me in with their very helpful approach. I wanted to get solar before the NEM 2.0 deadline expired so I collected bids from multiple companies. Their bid wasn't the cheapest, but I picked them. I think I picked them because their sales rep Lonnie C. was very good at showcasing the strengths of the company (which were important to me) and their online reviews were pretty good. My project manager Pamela R. was very attentive and responded very quickly to every email that I sent her. There were was a minor hiccup or two during the project but everything was dealt with in a timely manner. About a year ago Simmitri did my new roof and solar. One of the things that impressed me most when starting this job is that Jonathan makes sure that every job is done properly and the customer is happy. Need a new roof and was looking to add to add solar at the same time. Sales process was efficient and the quote was in line with their competitors. Roof was installed on time and despite their being a backlog for parts (COVID) they worked with me to ensure the solar could be installed before the end of the year. The initial solar Enphase hub failed shortly after install and had to be replaced. Simmitri were out to install it the day after it arrived. Overall very happy with the level of service. I have to give Pam Garcia and Affordable Roofing five stars for the brilliant job they did on my roof. I got their information because they are Certified GAF Installers. To my knowledge, GAF is the manufacturer of the best roofing material and certify only the best contractors. They had the old roof off, replaced the rotted wood beams, placed fresh plywood and installed our new shingles, gutters and vents. They matched our house color and painted the flashings too. They were in and out in 3 days. I've seen many neighbors have their roofing jobs stall for WEEKS! The prices we were offered were fair in comparison to the other bids we received as well. They also did a great job cleaning up the yard, leaving no nails behind. I probably sound like a commercial. Have you ever had that helpless feeling when you see leaking from your ceiling and you don't know the first thing about roof repair? That was me. Couldn't be happier with the whole process we've enjoyed with Simmitri. We spoke to a bunch of different companies and couldn't find anyone who would do an install on our CalPac (metal) roof. Our research showed SunPower had the best panel technology and they immediately referred us to Simmitri. Simmitri's heritage as a roofing company meant they had no problem with the roof or guaranteeing their work. Simmitri did a thorough energy audit on our home before finalizing their configuration and came up with a number of excellent recommendations to address energy "leakage", (furnace, ducting and outdated pool equipment) that reduced the number of panels we needed. They installed 17 SunPower E20-327-C-AC panels with the integrated microinverter and six months later they have been performing better than projected. I highly recommend the Simmitri team. read more

It's been over a year now since the solar was installed. I asked for 6.9MW for the year. The system produced 8.0MW so the system should exceed my request for the whole 25 years with normal panel degrade. Note that a MW extra only gets you about $50 because PG&E's overage credit is only 4 cents a KW so that much more isn't that desirable...... we'll see what happens in a rainy year though. My one gripe is the Enphase 7 micro inverters max out at 245 watts. If the panel produces more the excess is "clipped". I'm seeing 5 hours of clipping in May/June and some clipping in every month except December and January on a sunny day. In May/June I think I'm clipping 1KW or more per day. They told me Enphase 7+ (max 295w and only $25 more) would have exceeded the single circuit limit. Enphase can handle 3 circuits and I would have paid the additional. ..... plus maybe I could have gotten by with 1-2 fewer panels and only needed the single circuit. The clipping makes it very tough to determine how much degrade I'm seeing from either dirt or aging. read more

No one returned any of my phone calls. For like 4-6 days. Made me play phone tag.then when I finally got them back out to my house. To fix all the mistakes. It took two more trips out to my house before it was done. I work everyday so I'm unable to to sit at home and monitor\babysit. A company that I hire to do a job. I paid my bill upfront in full. Thinking that I would be appreciated for that. Instead I was took advantage of.my roof looks nicer now. But why did it take so much b.s. to get it done right. I had to get an attorney involved, . I got bids from Sunrun and SolarCity. Simmitri was comparable to Sunrun and slightly cheaper by just a hair -- what made me go with simmitri in the end was their great customer service. Midway into the contract I learned of Tesla's aggressive solar campaign to corner the market and realized I could potentially save by going with Tesla. However, my sales rep at Simmitri pointed me to the large number of negative reviews with Tesla (broken roofs, skipped inspections, broken panels) and decided to spare myself the headache and stick with peace of mind high quality customer service at simmitri. Overall I'm very pleased with the service I got. Throughout the whole process it was headache free and never had any trouble getting a hold of anyone at simmitri. It's a family business and they've been servicing the Bay Area for 30+ years. My parents used Affordable Roofing (now Simmitri) to have their new roof installed five years ago. They had a fantastic experience. They worked directly with the owners, Pam and Richard Garcia. The process was clean and efficient. Richard visited the job site a few times to ensure that all was going well. It was a five-star experience. My husband and I are now in the process of building a house. We are using a general contractor, but we told him that we wanted to use Simmitri since my parents received such fantastic service when they did their roof. Unfortunately, we made the wrong decision. We should have simply used the roofer that our general contractor would have chosen. During this project, we never had any contact with the owners. The communication about our project was horrible. We were rarely kept apprised of what was going on. I had to badger them if I wanted to know anything about our project. I sent emails to my contact person, and those emails went unanswered for days. I would then call their main line, and only then would I receive a response. About half way through our project, we discovered that the workers who were doing our roof didn't even work for Simmitri. Apparently, our project was "outsourced" to another roofing company working with Simmitri. All of this was setup without our knowledge or approval. Lastly, the workers were not always professional--at one point, they left a pile of garbage on our roof, and it stayed there for over a week. The work we had done ended up fine (thus the two stars instead of one), but it was a struggle every step of the way. Simmitri has now lost some very loyal customers. No one in our family will recommend them again. read more

I was highly recommended to Simmitri by a friend and our neighbors. I was advised they were previously known as Affordable Roofing and Solar. We preferred a local roofing business to make some repairs to our roof since some of our cement tiles were cracked and loose on top of our two-story home. When I called, Mike was very professional and courteous. He scheduled our estimate and emailed us our repair proposal with pictures. Way to go Simmitri, thank you for going paperless! :) Even after completing the job, I added on a special request. The last rain, we had a waterfall of water coming out of our gutter. This gutter was hard to reach and Charlie happily agreed to check it out, this reassured me. We also had been hearing critters in the attic and wanted to seal off any entrances they may have found. Charlie did great work on our roof and we have not had any critters since (or gutter waterfalls)!!! He was so kind to return back to our home and clean our gutter. Once they found it, they contacted me, gave me a very good quote and gave me a Starbucks card to apologize. Since they did such good work the first two times, it is clearly worth giving them another chance for this issue. I will update again once the work is done. Affordable Roofing installed our new roof 2+ years ago. Our neighbor installed a new roof about 2 years before us. Our neighbor initially raved about their roofer, but after the one-year warranty expired, they experienced problems and rescinded their strongly positive recommendation they previously told us. We settled on using Affordable Roofing. We own a 4,400+ square feet home, two stories, with a very steep roof. Their roofers worked very hard. They were very respectful of my family, my home, and my neighborhood -- and cleaned up at the end of each day. We had a large portion of our new roof installed as solar voltaic panels that were integrated in the roofing tiles. It is hard to tell the these solar panels from the non-solar roofing material. Affordable Roofing also replaced our solar hot water system and replaced all of our gutters with pre-painted gutters that (amazingly) identically matched the trim color of our home. There were some "hiccups" early on, but Affordable Roofing was quite rapid in their response to correct things. We remain extremely happy with our new roof, solar energy, and solar hot water. The color they helped us pick looks better than I anticipated. Each day when I drive up to our garage I remain very pleased with the roof's appearance, and truly enjoy that we have an energy-producing roof, too.
