The wings here are good but they don't compensate for their bad service, we order about twice a month and usually a good amount of wings but they are never ready and they always make us wait a long while. But today we ordered with many hours in advance to be diligent, knowing they would most likely be busy, when we showed up they said they gave our order to someone else, no apology and they didn't even try to fix their issue, and we had to wait over an hour for them to do it again, because they had other people waiting, not only that but they wanted us to pay again to show in their system, they just made us waste our time and money because even after waiting they still didn't have our order, they said we had to wait even longer, needless to say we left without food. I will never come back and make sure I never again recommend this place. It's the faithful costumers that make a place not the quantity of people that order for one special occasion. I had braces and one of the first foods I craved when I got them off was wings. I found SS Wings through a Yelp search and placed an order for delivery easily through their website. I was impressed with the variety of sauces and dry rubs. We got the 24 traditional, which allows you up to three sauces. We had to try the traditional buffalo, which was excellent-buttery, spicy, and luscious! I've eaten a LOT of Buffalo wings in my time and these might be the best! We also loved the garlic Parmesan. I didn't taste much garlic but there was plenty of Parmesan on the perfectly-cooked wings. My husband's favorite of the three was the Sweet Thai chili wings. I loved them, too! We also ordered a regular size of their potato wedges, which was perfect for the two of us. We really liked the seasoning and my husband called them "outstanding," which is very high praise for him! The delivery experience was good, with updates being texted to my phone. I think they use DoorDash - kudos to the driver who found my building without any problems. Long overdue for a review of this spot. I have some friends who come here quite often... and during the pandemic they were gone for a bit. I'm late to the party, but yo... these might be the best wings in MD. And I would consider this a 'hidden gem'... unless you know it's there it's very easy to miss with the extremely subtle signage from outside. You can go online and order in advance, and even have it delivered to you... but if you do choose to go in person, there's a couple of high seats, but there's no dining in... it's definitely a strictly takeout spot. There are very few items you can get in addition to the wings, like veggie sticks (carrots and celery), potato wedges, sauces on the side, drinks, and a brownie. Hot jet lag (which I don't currently see on the menu) is a delicious spicy sauce for the wings... and you can't go wrong with the sweet Thai chili, mumbo and BBQ. I still need to make my way through the sauces and seasonings, but the wings... oof. If you haven't had them yet and you're in the mood for some wings... do yourself a favor and go. Saturday 11/11/2023 I made an online order of 8 ct bbq wings with potato wedges and ranch for 14$. When I came to get my food I had to get different flavors for the wings since they didn't have any bbq which was disappointing. After sampling a few sauces/flavors, I ended up getting half mumbo and half golden bbq for the wings. Luckily, I got 9 wings instead of 8 which was good to see after not getting my original bbq order. Overall, The wings were solid: The mumbo wings were okay and the golden bbq wings were decent. Silver Spring Wings is an enigma wrapped in a mystery, then deep fried. The wings are so crispy and good, and the sauces are amazing. Best parmesan peppercorn sauce I've ever had. Even the wedges are delicious, and the ranch and blue cheese dipping sauces are really good too. It's also unpredictable sometimes--randomly closed, out of sauces, and don't even think about trying to reach them by phone. I've had their wings since they were located near DTSS, and I've continued to enjoy their wings when they opened at their Wheaton location. My sister and I have tried every sauce on the menu, and it's a crime that they don't bottle this stuff up. They have perfected their carry out business, consistently making delicious, seasoned, and well-dressed wings. Not only does this place offer great wings at a very fair price point, but the owner comes with a beautiful backstory. If you ever get a chance to stop by, I would suggest you ask him yourself. You can select a different flavor per 10 wings. Just select one initial flavor and in the special instructions portion note your other flavor choices. We got Cajun seasoning (dry), honey mustard, and sweet thai chili. AMAZING. The wings were hot, juicy and perfectly seasoned. His blue cheese sauce is definitely homemade - some chunks were the size of my eyeball and the fries were wonderful! None of this survived the drive home. I could eat these wings every night for a week straight. And I get bored easily! The owner was actually pretty cool and although it has no seats or chairs I will be back. The product is superb. Def recommend preordering and their online system is fairly simple. I ordered 20 pieces of bone-in wings, 10 Hot Jet Lag and 10 Sweet Chili Thai. Loved them both, but liked the sweet chili thai more. The hot jet lag one is definitely spicy, but if you can tolerate hot sauce, you'll be fine with a glass of water besides you. The potato wedges were also nice and crispy, but they come hot so I recommend letting them ventilate as you drive home so that they don't get soggy. I called and texted many times. Nothing! It was impossible to reach him. He never returned calls or texts... until two days prior to the event, when he wanted payment. Cash! He would not accept a credit card or Venmo from me for some unexplained reason. Because I was unable to meet him with the cash at the precise day/time that HE wanted, he refused to cater my event--without telling me.
