I stumbled on this place wanting some fried wings after a lonnnggg day of work. This place is located in Rockville in a shared plaza with Safeway and other businesses. Let me say, I was pleasantly surprised. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted by the owners. It was obvious that it was my first time there so the woman was super eager to explain their menu, specialities and other specials they have. They even have catering! I told her I was there for the wings so she explained all the flavors and highlighted the top 3 flavors. She even let me sample the soy garlic, sweet and sour and the K-bbq. I settled on the soy garlic and MY GOODNESS!!! They were so good yall! This IS a Korean Fried chicken spot so do not go in there expecting KFC, bc it's not that. Quite frankly, it's 100x better!!! The restaurant was clean, organized, and very easy to maneuver in. There were several to go orders waiting, so it seems to be popular. I ordered my wings and fries to go as well. The wings were so flavorful and were still hot when I got home, thanks to how they were packaged. They were juicy but not too soft. The breading and the sauce still allowed for crisp and the garlic was not overpowering at all. So glad I went with their recommendation. The fries were also still hot as well. The owners were so nice and hospitable. If you don't come for the food, at least go to experience genuine customer service! I work around the corner so I will be back for a lunch special! I have been here multiple times, and the chicken has always been good. It is crispy, flavorful, and has that authentic Korean fried chicken taste. This time, I was able to talk with both owners. They were really friendly and introduced me to somaek, which was a cool experience since I had never tried it before. The staff has always been attentive whenever I have come in. They have kiosks and a cashier, so ordering is easy. There are TVs to watch, good background music, and the overall vibe is relaxed. Definitely will be back. read more

A couple of friends and I went to this place and it's so good. It's located in a beautiful neighborhood, King Farm (quite scenic), where there's street parking, but also a parking lot a little bit further away. Walking in there were a couple of places to sit, which was nice. The workers there were also very kind and greeted us with a smile and seated us right away. They were patient and ready for whenever we were ready to order. The wings were amazing. We got a ton of different flavors and none of them disappointed. We got the 10pc soy garlic wings along with some appetizers to try. It was lightly sauced and crisp. Pieces were on the bigger side. The meat was tender, juicy and fresh. It tasted very clean. DON Chicken is way less greasy than some other kfc places like Bonchon which is a plus. Fries were good too and the pickled radish was perfect with the chicken. Items were packaged well for takeout. They put a layer of aluminum foil underneath the chicken which blocks it from making contact with the box. There was a sheet of parchment underneath the fries as well. Very thoughtful packaging. It's interesting to read some of the other reviews because it's pretty clear folks dunno what Korean Fried chicken is. Furthermore boneless wings aren't wings, they're fried tenders or breast. We got the crispy chicken wings and the green onion combo platter. The batter seems to be some kind of garlic pepper brine, which lives an interesting aftertaste in the mouth. The tempura veggies are actually really good, it's basically a Korean veggie pancake (pajeon). The menu pics don't do it justice. Very crispy, fresh made. I wish they would combine toppings though, green onion and snow etc. There are a lot of wings and drums! Staff is very nice and kind, small discount for cash payment. Price is slightly lower than other KFCs in the area. Vibes are cozy lounge with slow kpop in the background. They also got a Korean instant ramen machine which while amusing is not something I'd pay for at a restaurant. 2.28.25 Based on the high reviews, I was very excited to try this new restaurant which opened on December 18. I ordered a small soy garlic, boneless wings. I was surprised to learn that it was $15.95 (discounted price for cash payment) and that does not even include any sides except for pickled daikon. I did order a side of jasmine rice. I thought the serving for the small was generous and hearty. The chicken was crispy and the wings were huge. The downside was there was barely any coating of the sauce. When I go to Bonchon or other Korean restaurants, the chicken is coated in the sauce to the point where you need napkins to wipe your hands. That is not the case here. If you ask for additional sauce, there is a $2 charge. I really enjoyed their jasmine rice and the daikon. The rice was chewy and moist, one of the best that I've had anywhere. Given that other restaurants include sides with the chicken for roughly the same price, I am inclined to go to other restaurants. The chicken upset my tummy after I ate it, but my hubby says I generally have issues after I eat Asian cuisine. read more

To me, it is odd to have the sauce separated from the chicken when I got the food to go. I understand that probably the intention is to make sure the chicken stays crispy. This self service Korean fried chicken restaurant is located in the town square of Kings Farm. Previous restaurants in this location has been disappointing so I am super thrilled that DON Chicken just opened! We tried the original, soy garlic, sweet and spicy and the Tteokboki. Soy garlic was definitely my favorite sauce and the Tteokboki was excellent. I usually don't like sauce on my fried chicken as most places smother it with sauce which takes away the crunch, however, it was lightly covered in this sweet and savory sauce. The first time I came I ordered in with a friend, a bit of a wait time but in my opinion it's worth it. Even the small is a really good chicken portion and I could not finish it myself.
