Cracked her laptop open ourselves and removed most of the screws from the battery to try and take it out, but there were two that we could not get out so we caved and took it in to the shop. The person at the front was able to remove them immediately and very easily, and walked us through all of the possible outcomes for the laptop. The laptop was fine when dried in-store for a few days, though the price for it to just sit there by a fan was higher than I would have liked. I also wish they had been a little more communicative, we had to call more than once just to get updates. Overall, they were knowledgeable and it got fixed, so I would return in the event of another mishap.

I told a friend on the UCLA faculty that I was having computer problems and she immediately gave me Abhishek's phone number. The rest is history. He responded right away, he was able to come to my office and look at the problem and HE FIXED IT! On the spot. And explained what he had done. And his bill was a bargain, compared to various fix-it guys I have used. AND, unlike me, he's always in a good mood. What more could you ask??? * I had a recurring issue with my home office in San Francisco sending meeting notices that disappeared into trash, although I had no idea where they went...or why. He fixed it. * Because my system is elderly I occasionally have had issues using older versions of Quicken and Microsoft Word. The only thing that initially made me hesitate was that it was a home-based business. I decided to keep looking around and even visited another highly rated repair shop in the area. Before I could even ask if they could repair my controller, they immediately recommended QCQ Repair. That told me everything I needed to know. From the moment I spoke with Jose, I could tell he genuinely knew what he was doing. With over 10 years of experience, his knowledge and professionalism stood out immediately. He took the time to listen to my concerns about my controller, understood how much sentimental value it had to me, and even understood how excited I was to play the upcoming Halo Remastered. What impressed me the most was his honesty. From the very beginning, he told me there was a possibility the controller couldn't be repaired because of how Microsoft designed the Elite Series 2. He didn't make promises he couldn't keep or give me false hope. Instead, he was upfront and transparent, and I respected that more than anything. I dropped my controller off on July 3rd, right before the holiday weekend, and he was still willing to take it in. A few days later, he contacted me with great news--he had successfully repaired it. I concur with what ALL of you have said. Sam is a 5 start no question! He is smart beyond just techie smart - he's people and business smart as well. He's helped us with so many technology-related things it's hard to mention them all. He basically set up a whole new server environment for our office, upgrading the whole network. He then proceeded to basically teach our CRM software vendor how to implement their own software in our network environment...I think he probably even coached them as to how to adjust their hardware/software technology requirements for their clients so that optimal performance is achieved with their software. He should have been paid for consulting to them! One of the things I love about Sam is that he just never quits - no matter how seemingly ridiculous or inexplicable the technology problem, he always finds his way to a solution - his persistence is unparalleled. His accessibility and responsiveness are beyond that of any vendor I have. He knows how critical his role is to our business and he delivers on it! And, he even helps me find the humor in some of the most frustrating business technology issues - that's a talent! I am a small business owner and needed basic assistance setting up my new office in the Mission District. Sam was amazing. When we initially spoke he took the time to counsel me about my internet provider and alternative telephone resources, in addition to discussing the PC system set up I'd contacted him about. He had no vested interest in these other companies; he just wanted to make sure I had best set of resources possible (which ended up with me dropping AT&T and getting phone service through FluentStream and internet through Monkey Brains). When Sam arrived at my office he quickly completed the set up work I needed and then proceeded to fix several nagging problems I'd had for months. Sam has been great. I'm a web developer by trade but have slowly taken over the company SysAdmin functions. I'm also more of a Linux guy than a Windows guy --- but our office network/workstations are Windows-based. Sam has been there for me (email, phone calls, texts, etc) and helped me slowly understand how things SHOULD be setup.
