Unfortunately we had a cell phone battery issue that just happened to come up while on our vacation to Big Bear! The battery had swollen up overnight and was dangerous to turn on. We looked around and found this guy on Yelp, and saw that he was "open" on a Friday evening when we got there. We called just before his "closing time" and he didn't pick up. Okay, fine, it says he is open on Saturdays too, but only for a few hours. So the next morning we call him RIGHT at 10 AM (when he's supposed to open) and he doesn't answer. After breakfast, we drove by his address at 11 AM. Again he's supposed to be open, but NOBODY IS THERE!!! He has a sign on the door that says to "call this number" if there is no answer. It's the same number that I had already called before. So I call him 4-5-6 times and NO ANSWER AT ALL!!! We ended up having to buy a brand new phone and cost us HUNDREDS because this clown has no idea how to run a business! Maybe he should just shut down permanently!! read more

Came here during posted business hours and the shop was closed. Tried calling multiple times, and when someone finally answered, they hung up mid conversation instead of helping or even explaining what was going on. Really disappointing customer service. JT is a miracle worker! My husband didn't notice that his phone had fallen out of his pocket while walking our dog. It was hours later before he noticed it was missing. We tracked its location and found it on the side of the road up the street from us. Sadly it had been run over ... likely multiple times, and had been baking in the hot sun for hours! The damage was BAD ! I thought for sure we had to buy him a new phone but he wanted to just see if repair was possible. Googled some repair shops in Big Bear and found a few but went to JT. JT quoted me a price and said he ordered the part and then after a month and several attempts on my part to follow up, he stopped responding. It's tough to find good service companies in Big Bear and no show companies like this dont help with that reputation. At least have the decency to return a text or phone call to say you changed your mind and decided not to do the job you previously committed to. read more

! I got up to my mountain home and realized I forgot my laptop charger. A common occurrence, usually with no resolution in a small town. JT immediately drove a charger to my home to lend to me because he did not have my model available to sell me. Such an amazing, neighborly, kind and helpful thing to do. He literally saved my work week, which would have been a disaster! Before I reached out to him, I called another local person in town, but I was without a car, and I would have to go to their location to get the charger. I contacted JT Tek services because I turned off a sign in option (Pen) and forgot my password. They said they could fix the problem to bring in my computer. They said when I dropped off my computer to come back the next day to pick it up. 4 days later I called and they said it was ready. OMG I did not give them permission nor did they ask for permission to install software to try and fix the problem. They created a hugh mess and now I have so many problems with my computer It's trash. I lost thousands of hours of files and 4 of my most used software programs including editing software I use to edit my website. Oh and my Novel I was writing as well as business plans I have written all gone. What a nightmare they have created for me. read more

I was really in a bind while on Spring Break in Big Bear with my family this week. I had planned to work in the mornings (NY time) but the USB-C cable charger that my work laptop usually connects with at my office didn't work with my cell phone block/cube (not enough power to charge the laptop). Laptop died on me early Monday morning. I immediately ordered a charger for my HP Elitebook 840 on Amazon and hit the slopes with my 13-year old daughter. At the end of the day, I realized that Amazon probably wouldn't get the charger to our rental cabin until Tuesday afternoon and I'd be out another day. It was 4:55pm Monday afternoon (5 minutes before closing) and Jay was very helpful and gracious, offering to stay late for me. He looked at the charger port picture I texted him and sure enough, he had the charger. I came up to Big Bear for the week. I arrived late at night and immediately began to unpack and set up my work station for work the next morning. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my keyboard and mouse. It was around 3am and I started work in a few hours. No one was open. I sent a message on Yelp to a few places and Jay T responded within a few minutes! Long story short, I met him in the middle of the night to get a keyboard and mouse. He is the kindest man, and I am FOREVER grateful for his willingness to help me at that time of the night, when I was panicking. I cannot say enough good things about him and his business. A really common question I see from some locals (particularly those new to the area) on some of the social media forums is, "Can anyone recommend a good computer repair company." I was so happy that I went to JT Tek. I just got to Big Bear and my phone decided to have a software problem. I walked in and they quickly fixed my phone. The staff and store were great and I'll definitely be back if my phone ever has an issue again. They also sell glass screen protectors and cases which I needed to replace too! read more

So this is my first half of my review. We came to visit big bear and went night tubing where my boyfriend forgot his phone in the tube and when we found it the following day it wasn't able to turn on. I originally went to boost mobile where the guy sent me to JT (which I thought was awesome other businesses supporting local) The next day I called JT and he immediately took me and looked over the phone. JT actually got all the water out, new battery, and new screen. My boyfriend then overheated his phone almost immediately after and even though JT was closed and with family he was kind enough to take us since he knew we flew out the next day. JT has gone above and beyond for us and is actually going to fix the back of the phone as well then ship it to us. Once we get the phone back I'll write the second half of the review.
