But if your computer has a mind of its own, expensive "fixes" that often don't work (or that you don't understand) can be a non-starter. I am writing to introduce Abhishek Goel, my 'secret weapon' in dealing with computer issues. I told a friend on the UCLA faculty that I was having computer problems and she immediately gave me Abhishek's phone number. The rest is history. He responded right away, he was able to come to my office and look at the problem and HE FIXED IT! On the spot. And explained what he had done. And his bill was a bargain, compared to various fix-it guys I have used. AND, unlike me, he's always in a good mood. What more could you ask??? * I had a recurring issue with my home office in San Francisco sending meeting notices that disappeared into trash, although I had no idea where they went...or why. He fixed it. * Because my system is elderly I occasionally have had issues using older versions of Quicken and Microsoft Word. Abhishek easily sorted out my Quicken problems and installed a newer version of Word. Dave has restored my computer at least 3 times over the last 6 years with the most recent being a…read moretotally fried hard drive from a power surge. He is excellent at figuring out what is wrong and fixing it. It now works even better than before! :) He also retrieved all my data from my main Users Account and gave me back the old hard drive in case I need something else from it.
