Lol. She said sure. They have seating & a server although I would say unless it's casual or you're taking a bunch of kids I'd prefer takeout. The salad was great. The portion for the price was great. I will definitely be trying more items off the menu. Certain things I would eat there. Certain things like the salad I would get to go. I ordered the chicken on the side, it's good size and wanted left overs, also didn't want the salad to get soggy. The dressing was great. The bread to die for! I got a chicken Caesar salad wrap and it wasn't good. Sadly, the chicken strips in the wrap were thin and over cooked. The chicken was dry and ruined the wrap in my opinion. Recently checked out silver sands for a low key Friday date night. They do have a small seating area inside. We ordered garlic bites to start out with which is basically like a garlic bread pizza with cheese. Our waitress brought out some garlic knots first and we were a little confused but she said they were complimentary. They were good and had a parsley or basil oil on them. My fiancé ordered...you guessed it cheese pizza and I opted for the silver sands special grinder which was cutlet bacon lettuce and tomato and ranch. I opted to not have cheese on mine and asked for ranch on side but it came on it. But it was a very tasty well executed grinder. Chicken was crispy and so was the bacon. Shredded lettuce and tomato were good and ranch wasn't a whole lot which was great. All in all enjoyed our meal here and will keep in mind for future causal date nights. read more

I finally tried this place out. Went during the week for takeout. Very friendly and helpful staff for the most part. Had some issue with my form of payment which took longer to fix but it came out OK. Smallish place, the inside has some tables for dining in and it looks clean. My family and I went into Silversands Pizza to dine a few weeks ago and the pizza was nice and crispy. We ordered the calamari as well but you could tell it was frozen and not fresh, not good at all. Tonight we ordered delivery and waited over an hour and our pizza was ice cold. So not the crispy pizza we were hoping for when we dined in. Wings were also not good, soggy and not crispy. Went to a fair and their food truck was there. I was always curious about their pizza because they took over the location in Wallingford which used to be Primo Pizza. Their pizza is competent, but not particularly noteworthy. Let me start off by saying that there are several really good pizzas in the area. This review is not about which pizza is more popular. This is about Silver Sands Pizza. While they are not the 3 famous New Haven pies, they are our local, regular go-to for consistently good pizza that delivers. The pizza is very good (you just have to order it Extra Extra well done, and repeat it again, to get some char on it, lol). It has a tasty sauce, a balanced sauce to cheese ratio, and a decent chew on the crust. However, the hidden gem (or maybe not so hidden anymore) in this place their gyro...Wow! Get it! (I can only comment on the gyro from the SS Pizza location on Bridgeport Ave, not the gyro takeout place they recently opened up the street). They didn't skimp on the size of the gyro. The meat is perfectly seasoned and tender, the pita bread has a good char on it, the vege toppings (L, T, O) are fresh (the tomatoes are not mealy), and the tzatziki is delicious. Overall, delivery time is as expected (30-40 mins on a rainy friday night), and the drivers are very nice. Definitely recommend. read more

Very poor delivery experience tonight. I ordered 2 pizzas and wings. They brought a plain cheese pizza instead of the specialty pizza I had ordered and I was charged for the specialty. And they charged a higher price for the specialty than it should have been. I order from here a couple times a month and usually don't have issues. So I called to see if they could refund the difference between the specialty and the plain cheese. They said they couldn't do that but would send another pizza out. So the other pizza arrives and it's still not correct! Possibly the worst part was how terribly the pizza was cut. I've never seen it cut that bad and can only be left thinking that it was intentional. I really didn't even want them to send the other pizza but when I was asked on the spot whether I wanted another pizza or if I wanted to just eat the extra money that I paid, I told them to send the pizza. read more

The garlic knots were incredibly old they were freezing cold and so tough I couldn't bite into it but somehow burnt on the top.the jalapeño poppers were FREEZing cold in the middle and not even melted inside and the filling was gritty as well. I was really impressed by my take out here. First off the rolls that came with all of our food were so soft and fresh! I wanted garlic knots but they were sold out so I got garlic bites, it resembled a cheesy garlic bread flat bread pizza with marinara sauce. Really great! I also got the chicken soulvaki salad, really fresh and tasty with a decent chicken portion. It came with tzatziki sauce. I wish it came with a dressing too because tzatziki sauce is so thick that it doesn't coat the salad. Still really good! My boyfriend got the hot honey pizza, it was good with a strong honey flavor, thin pizza. I also got Italian wedding soup. I would totally order from here again! A couple of Saturdays ago I took my granddaughters to the Trumbull Arts Festival. It was a dreary day and we were getting hungry. There were only a couple of food trucks and one was Silver Sands Pizza. I wasn't going to get it from them but the girls wouldn't budge so we ordered two pies; one pepperoni and one half mushroom. Since they use a brick oven the pizzas were done fairly quickly. I need to say I have never been a big thin crust fan. I usually like my crust like I like my men, dense. Needless to say, I was blown away. The crust was really thin but not in a bad way and certainly not what I expected. It had a wonderful texture and flavor. The sauce was great too and although I almost always get extra cheese. I didn't this time and honestly, I was perfectly happy with the amount that they put on them. This place used to be decent but after my last couple experiences I will never be back. Last time I ordered a pizza, it was so soggy that it was literally dripping wet like it had been through a car wash and couldn't even be hand held. Thinking that one bad experience was a fluke, I tried to give them a second chance and simply ordered a sandwich and some garlic knots. I arrived 30 minutes after placing the order that they said would take 20 minutes, and was told they needed 5 more minutes. After waiting 15, they said "1-2 more minutes." Meanwhile I was the only customer waiting in a nearly empty restaurant. After another 5 minutes had passed, I just said forget it and insisted on a refund, and left without my food. How do you see that one customer is literally standing there waiting for 20 minutes and not prioritize their order that would take 5 minutes to make? An unexpected treasure! We were looking for a new Italian restaurant because everything has been so disappointing since covid hit. We were not expecting much because it is mostly a "takeout" place.
