I've been hearing about this place for over a decade. And everybody raves about it. Just a simple sub shop in the back of a shopping mall. Countertop seating and some hard wood booths. Not necessarily a place I'd wanna hang out and eat lunch unless they have the patio set up which I think they do sometimes in the summer. I was fairly unimpressed mainly because all the subs are predesigned and unlike subway a competitor you can't customize your stuff very much. Prices seemed really high to me. The cheapest sub was 599 for a 5 inch. Which is what I got. But I think mine was 699. Staff was semi friendly, but your general teenage kids, but respectful. Place was dead. However, it seemed like they were getting a lot of Uber eats orders and took orders as they do delivery as well. I was really kind of sad. There was only the choice of white or wheat when it came to the bread. Most places have so many more options these days. Just a really simple Italian salad I received without pickles or a lot of the other things that I would've liked on it. The bread was fairly good. But you know daily cooked fresh white bread should be good. Hard to mess that up. Some of the subs got into ridiculous amount of money for the big ones. I'm honestly surprised that Cheyenne Wyoming and Northern Colorado. People pay this much money for sub sandwiches when there's so many competitors doing so many more options for less money. This warm sandwich was filled with chicken paired with ranch and buffalo sauce. The sandwich was barely warm (a bit more than room temp) and needed more sauce. Overall I was disappointed with the sandwich. The restaurant was clean and customer service was friendly. The bathrooms were well kept. We were trying to support local businesses vs large chains due to COVID-19 impacting the economy so we decided to check out Silver Mine Subs. The place inside was cute, the sandwich maker was friendly, and the bathrooms were clean. We ended up getting the Caribou and Georgetown sandwiches, a bag of chips, and two drinks.. it totaled about $21. The sandwiches were a little strange (like mini torpedoes) and there really wasn't a lot of meat on them. The produce was fresh though but hubby and I agreed they were different and not what we expected. $16 for a sandwich and I've seen more lettuce and toppings on a big mac from McDonald's. Very disappointing. Never been here before but I don't know if I'll be coming back. Figured id start with a sandwich as they constructed it and leave it alone to see how much modification it needed. The only thing I'll say is if you ask for double meat you're going to get a ton of meat. Maybe more than you wanted. They don't skimp there. While traveling through Cheyenne, i stopped in for a good nights rest and some food. The rest hasn't happened yet but the food? Oh the food did. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad, pickle, and chips. The only things edible from that meal were the chips and pickle. Salads aren't supposed to be hot, feta isn't supposed to taste like cottage cheese, and the croutons, oh don't get me started on the croutons... they were so salty, i had to drink 2 gallons of water to restore my levels.. We are fans of Silver Mine Subs. My hubby ordered The Virginian and LOVED IT! My daughter got a turkey cheese sandwich in a kids meal and love that it came with fruit snacks. Genius! The still water location is my usual go to they dont seem to put as much meat on the subs as the other location on South Greeley Highway does. But the service at the Stillwater location is awsome! I consider myself a regular at this restaurant, and I often order food for delivery. I made an account on Yelp specifically to make this review, because it's something I need to get off my chest. Whenever you visit or order from this restaurant, you NEED to bring all your good luck charms; karma bracelets, crosses, rabbits' feet, whatever. You'll need them if you want your order right. Generally, my order comes with everything that I asked for, but it also comes with a few things that I didn't. For example, just this evening I asked for a Georgetown with only turkey, bacon, pepper jack, and mustard. A simple order for any other restaurant. I did get those four things, but along with that, I was rather unpleasantly surprised with avocado and lettuce, which are normal for the Georgetown, but not what I asked for. It's a little like playing Russian Roulette in the sense that you never know what you're going to get. Although I believe this to be true, I will continue to visit this restaurant, because the only thing that makes restaurants incompetent are their employees. Generally, they get my order correct, and it tastes delicious. In the seven or so years I've lived in Cheyenne, I've never met a member of the Silver Mine staff that was rude to me or anyone I know. The only complaint I have against them is the Russian Roulette-style sandwich topping issue. Overall, I like this restaurant a lot, and I will continue to come here. First time here. Cashier was very friendly and she explained the menu. She didn't rush us. Always had a smile. Good selection, good prices.

First visit to any SMS, and it was very disappointing. I didn't even get to judge them by their food; I'm unable to have dairy right now, so it was what I asked when I first saw the employee - "Do you know whether any of your bread is dairy-free?" "Not that I know of." Uhhh...okay. Nothing you can check? She adds, "I do know nothing in our store is gluten free." "Gluten is fine, thanks." Nice of her to offer the info, but I didn't ask about that. Okay, I'll try a different approach. Searching the menu, and not immediately seeing what I'm looking for, so I ask, "Can you do salads?" She shrugs. "Yeh." Noncommittal sound. Then she points to the part of the menu where they have salads listed (uhhh, so why not just say yes?) and she read the menu to me. Grilled chicken was listed - that's usually a safe bet, but I have encountered "grilled chicken" cooked in butter, so I ask: "Is your grilled chicken dairy free?" Another shrug, followed by, "I wouldn't know." Wow. It's not so much that she doesn't know the answer as her apparent lack of caring. She appeared to be the only person in the entire store (it was around 4pm on a Sunday, about an hour ago as I write this), so it wasn't that she was busy or distracted by other customers; she didn't offer to look anything up or ask anyone else. I don't like to make a scene, and I wasn't sure if it was just my perception of her that left me feeling a bit turned off by the whole place, so I told my husband somewhat quietly that he could order, but I'd have to find something else. He said thanks but no thanks - we'd all simply go elsewhere. We left with a smile, trying to remain polite, and she sent us off with a, "Sorry, guys." Her remark was far from heartfelt. Perhaps it wouldn't be a big deal to you - I don't know. I am not easily offended, so this was far from offensive, but it was (as previously mentioned) disappointing. Ive lived in cheyenne for awhile and never went to silvermines thinking it was another corporate gross sub shop but it was super good for an average sub shop. It had fast service ok service but with fast service i most people would imagine it would not be great but i like how it has a rustic look to the interior of the building. It is a good lunch place to eat and very good for eating fast so i would reccomend this to everybody who wants a good sub but dont get your hopes high for great service all the time but just get somthing to eat fast. read more
