Local favorite, cute little place. It was busy food was great. Most people in here knew each other. Coffee was great, food was amazing. We found this local diner on Yelp and it is definitely a place you want to wat at! The diner has been established in Cheyenne for 70 years! This truly is a mom and pop diner, a cozy little place with worn out booths and good food. Regular customers have a special spot to hang their coffee cup on the wall. The bathrooms are disguised with the façade of an outhouse, which I found amusing. Our waitress was literally the owner and gave is the best service! I had the Chuck Wagon because you know I had to have the biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns and extra crispy bacon. Everything came out perfect! I love this place. The food is great, the servers are friendly and efficient, and they let me order the kid's meal! I am a senior, and most restaurant meals are too much food for me. I really like the Porky because they don't put potatoes in the burrito. I never get enough green chile so I order a side and dump that on top of what green chile is part of the meal (see photo). I like my food hot, so I always say "extra hot" to get it that way. Sometimes there's a wait, but it usually doesn't take too long to be seated. The place has been in business for about 70 years and you don't do that without being good. They hand out a really neat toy to kids ... some kind of flexible sticks I've seen turned into spectacles, cars, etc. Don't let the outside appearance turn you away. What a lovely owner! She is friendly and engaged with her customers. I really appreciate it when owners are part of the restaurant team, because they are invested. This dear lady really is invested! We both had eggs and hash browns, and shared a bowl of grits. I had the German sausage, and hubs had the sausage patties. Hubby had toast, but, because I'm gluten intolerant, I left off bread. The coffee was hot and fresh, and that warmth was appreciated on a chilly and windy October morning. And she kept the coffee coming! Yay! Our food was so good, I hated that I couldn't eat it all. The restaurant had a stream-lined typical breakfast menu of items like eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes/waffles. Unfortunately, the dishes lacked flavor and creativity. All the food was cooked to order but tasted plain and lacked flavor. The bacon was average, not particularly crispy or flavorful. The same goes for the french toast. The atmosphere was westerns themed with limited seating in the small building. The restaurant is dated and could use some updating. Overall, the restaurant was decent, quick and had good value for the food. If you're looking for a basic breakfast spot, this might do the trick, but if you're looking for a memorable breakfast experience, you'll probably want to look elsewhere. read more

Heard one of the servers mention a new menu is on the horizon, but apparently they've been talking about it for a while. Parking is a bit minimal with a few spots on the side and mostly street parking around the restaurant. I got an omelet with hash browns and sourdough toast. Luckily with the omelets they allow smaller orders too. I thought that was nice since I never can eat a whole omelet. I wasn't a fan of the red sauce/salsa on top though. Driving from Greeley co to Cheyenne stopped at three THREE restaurants or diners trying to get breakfast in Greeley and Eton all three were closed Beats me why a breakfast diner is closed Sunday morning. Maybe they were all at CFD I dunno but It sucked and was frustrating. I knew the diamond horseshoe closed at 2. Luckily we made It there around 1. After the insane morning CFD rush. So glad too. Food is always always amazing here. The best pancakes around. Quaint and comfortable environment. Has a small town dinner feel with wonderful staff. They made us feel like we had been there a thousand times before, even though it was our first visit. We had breakfast and I recommend you come with an appetite. Portions are satisfying and large while pricing was very reasonable. I definitely recommend there Cinnamon Roll. It is huge, very tasty though my daughter scarfed down the whole thing before I knew it. If you are coming in from out of town, skip the crappy hotel breakfast and make the trip. This is a cozy family run restaurant with great food and service. The server, a happy person with a great personality and a dash of spice, was spot on with everything. I had the two eggs scrambled which were cooked correctly, hash browns also done crisp on one side and tender on the other. The bacon was some of the best I've had in a long time, thick, just the right Smokey flavor and not salty. I had a side of green chili, it didn't over power the eggs and have a wonderful savory a bit spicy flavor. My husband had the three egg omelet with chorizo, it was, again, cooked correctly and the eggs and meat were excellent (I had to sample). He had thick sliced sourdough bread and enjoyed every bit. The ambiance is a bit 50's to 70's, but that would not stop me from eating here again. A true roadhouse diner. Clearly a breakfast and lunch hangout for locals and regulars, so much so that they hang their own personalized coffee mugs on the wall. As a visitor coming in, one feels a temporary part of this little community as you can hear multiple or even multi-table conversations about local goings-on. The staff is warm and friendly, clearly a family run business with mom and young daughter working out front. There's maybe 15 tables plus a small counter. Great food, from our week surveying breakfast spots it was in our opinion the best chorizo and hash browns in town. They have a daily special "gravy" dish. The day we were there it was creamed chipped beef. It was just like I remembered as a kid in the midwest. I had it on top of biscuits with hash browns and it was perfectly executed with just the right balance of beef to gravy. I also had a side of scrambled eggs with the signature homemade green chili on top. The green chili was good, but not as goos as some other places in town. The queen had the chorizo and eggs omelette and we both agreed it was the best chorizo in town, hands down. Service was very prompt and your coffee mug never gets cold or anywhere close to empty.
