really cute diner. Great for a late night bite to eat. I Have tried their loaded french fries as well as burgers and milkshakes. Milkshakes are a little bit thin but easy to drink with a straw unlike other places where they can be too thick. Overall always good quality food and great service. We ordered a country fried steak for pickup. Nice sized steak, could've used more gravy (although it was salty - definitely eat with the potatoes to balance the saltiness). This diner is so charming and makes you feel like you're right back in the '50s. I stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning and was immediately seated. The server was very attentive and checked in on me regularly. I ordered one of the weekday specials, the "Old Standby" which included two eggs, a biscuit, and breakfast potatoes. Everything was served quickly and piping hot. In addition to the great food and service, the atmosphere was delightful! Both the inside and outside have the old diner feel. This is an old-fashioned looking diner with a very much up-to-date menu. There's a juke box at each table which gave it the feel of an old diner. I've been to a couple of their locations, Cherry Hill & D.C.'s Navy Yard district. I'm not impressed with this diner at all. NJ has some excellent diners, this isn't one of them. I don't know what it is, but there's something about their food that misses the mark. I've heard people rave about it, but it's just not for me. It's good, more like okay. We started with the crab chowder and turkey chili, and have to say both were slightly disappointed with the offering. Flavor was great on the crab soup, however, just no actual crab throughout the entire cup of soup. Turkey chili had a good flavor thought that the meat was a little too minced, I generally prefer a chunkier texture to my chili. We then ordered the Hawaiian luau, burger and the barbecue brisket cheeseburger. The burgers were phenomenal cooked to perfection. Just enough toppings, but not too much. We were each thoroughly happy with our selections. We were too full for desert, so we took a couple of coffees to go. Got the check, prices were fair, and we were on our way. Wow has this place gone down the crapper. Seriously bad dinner last night with fish and chips for my wife and fried shrimp with old bay seasoning on french fries. Corn kernels in cole slaw and pink tarter sauce. Server tried her best and really felt sorry for her since she was under-trained. The fish was about 1/4 of an inch think with at least twice that much breading. Came out luke warm and hard as a rock. My wife's fries were over salted and mediocre at best. My fries were cold and I wondered where was the old bay? Shrimp were okay. $3.50 for a soda. If there is a next time, think I'll stick to a burger. Came in once again recently with a group of friends for dinner. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and our waitress was pretty friendly. Within about 10 minutes, she came to take all of our orders. Many of us did the "Build Your Own Burger." Mine consisted of a beef burger, turkey bacon, BBQ sauce, caramelizer onions, tomato, lettuce, and onion. Even though turkey bacon wasn't technically on the menu as a topping option, the waitress allowed me to add it in instead of regular bacon. Within about 15 minutes, all of our food was brought out. The burgers were extremely high quality; I thoroughly enjoyed mine. They are a very good size and extremely filling. Additionally, the fries were pretty good and very crispy. Once our check came, I think the prices were very fair for what we got. Even with premium upgrades, my Build Your Own Burger meal came out to about 15 dollars. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. Service, prices, and food quality have consistently been great after coming two times. I would definitely pay this place a visit again. read more

So, what's a "flexitarian?" I didn't know either until I sat at the counter in the Silver Diner, and had it explained for me in their elaborate menu. Apparently, when health consciousness is a priority, local sourcing predominates and the offerings change with the seasons, you have created a flexitarian restaurant. So, although its stainless steel & glass shell suggests a traditional Jersey diner experience awaits, in fact nothing could be further from the truth. This is a new age epicurian delight on par with the Turning Points of the world, without the pretense and only some of the accompanying cost. My Country Griddle breakfast (scrambled eggs, onion, green pepper, morning sausage, mushroom, potato and 2 tone melted cheddar) in a large bowl with fresh biscuit on top, was delicious and filling. The coffee was hot and strong, with a small pitcher of cold milk provided at my request (may have been from Amish cows). From my perch at the counter I could see into the kitchen where the white hats seemed to be having a good time. Even if you don't know anything about flexitarian kitchens, you can find your way to a very pleasurable meal @ Silver Diner. Nice going! read more

My family and I have enjoyed many meals at This Fine Diner. I cannot express enough how amazing the food, service and atmosphere are every time! I usually order the triple fried pickle sandwich with the Campfire shake and OMGGGGG it's amazing. I'd seen a Just Eggs Benedict, vegan version of Eggs Benedict, on a Silver Diner menu and was so excited to try it. But today only CLASSIC EGGS BENEDICT, described as "English muffin, maple ham, tomatoes, cage-free Amish eggs over-easy, hollandaise, home fries. 16.99" was on the menu my waitress gave me. I asked if I could substitute JUST EGG for the egg on CLASSIC EGGS BENEDICT. She checked and told me I'd have to get the Just Eggs Benedict (which wasn't on the menu) I asked what was substituted for the ham. Manager came told me tomato is subbed for the ham. But yo. Tomato was already part of the meal and it's not a sub for meat. He thought a second and then said tempeh bacon is the sub. Ok. The food came and was room temperature. No home fries. She said I'd have to pay extra. Again, the manager. I insisted that I saw potatoes on the menu as part of the meal. I then noticed the meal was made with regular looking toast not the traditional English muffin. Manager : they always make it with sourdough bread toast. At end of meal waitress bought a one page menu for me to get desert I guess, with desserts on one side. And VOILA. On the other side a few entrees including JUST EGGS Benedict ... with tempeh sourdough toast and vegan cheese sauce Cut and pasted for this review from the online menu: JUST EGG BENEDICT Vegan scrambled "eggs," smoky tempeh "bacon," baby spinach, grilled tomatoes, vegan cheese sauce, sourdough toast, fresh strawberries and fruit. 17.99 The waitress said she had never seen this on the menu. I asked the manager why he hadn't shown it to me and that all the back-and-forth discussion would have been resolved. He said, "Oh, that's OK." ...... That's OK?? For whom? I chalk my waitress responses up to her being on the job only 3 days and to very poor training.
